They come weekly. They were good; aside from mowing all of my dogs tennis balls I don't have a complaint.

AMANASSAS ASPHALT
They performed as i expected. They were courteous, respected my yard and the neighbors as they did my work. Very professional honest and trust worthy. Tony Finley did the project proposal and his crew installed the driveway as proposed. Great people and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new driveway. I know they also do tennis courts, maybe when I hit the lotto!!

AUrban America LLC
Original job of restoration of foundation was off a bid that I requested.  Urban America was referal from one of my contractors.  The job included restoring brick foundation that had been compromised from 28 years of water and moss damage.  Once the restoration was done, the job included preventive foundation water sealant.  The crew and the job were highly professional.  On the basis of this strong contract, I did not hesitate to call the company when a car lost control in our parking lot and ended up driving through our tennis building and ending up on a tennis court.  Urban America immediately responded and qualified their ability to do an emergency restoration.  This work included taking sheet metal and insulation damage to a restored and weather proof condition that allowed me to take the necessary time to bring to get final restoration contracts with Butler Building experience.  The emergency work was so strong, that I did not lose any time for our members and the restored wall stood well until final restoration was finished 2 months later.

AJ & J Landscape Management Inc
I contacted J&J on behalf of our Swim and Tennis Club to obtain a quote for the services listed above - one of three services contacted to replace a provider whose work had slipped over the years.  J&J had great ratings and was very responsive - James Darrington, an owner, met me at our club and patiently walked the entire property with me as I explained what we were looking for.   At my request he prepared a basic lawn maintenance estimate and three additional estimates for capital improvement projects that we were considering.  All very professionally bid, and all very competitive.  In some cases his estimates were literally half of that of other bidders - far enough below that I questioned what we would get for the money.  Ultimately our board chose J&J and we could not be happier.  A series of long spring rains put all the landscapers behind around the time our club was due to open, but James ensured his crew completed our spring cleanup the day before we were due to open, an even completed an additional brush removal task (not part of the original quote) that our on-site manager directed (unbeknownst to me) without a complaint or additional bill.  WELL ABOVE AND BEYOND our contract and hugely appreciated.  We are on our third month with J&J and have thoroughly enjoyed every contact with James, and his friendly office staff.  A well-run, affordable, quality-focused service that I'd hire again in a minute.

AEASTERN GROUNDS LANDSCAPING, LLC
Eastern Grounds Landscaping provides excellent service! We've been using them for several years for nearly-year-round maintenance of Whitehall Pool and Tennis Club in Bowie. They get the entire property landscaping cleaned-up, pruned, edged, mulched, and decorated with flowers in the spring and keep it looking sharp throughout the summer. Additional fall lawn maintenance and leaf removal is also performed expertly. The crews are professional and do beautiful work. The owner works closely with the customer to ensure guaranteed satisfaction with the job. Communication with the owner and the office staff is always timely and responsive, either by phone or email. The owner, Bill, and the crews have also responded quickly when we needed emergency service like cutting down fallen trees after storms and needing extra mowing services before big swim meets. We highly recommend Eastern for commercial or residential landscape services.

AHoney Cove Landscaping & Tree Services
We had an extremely overgrown mess around our tennis court.  Vines were growing through the fences, weed trees were rampant, poison ivy was everywhere as were other vines of immense proportions.  It was one hot mess and totally out of control.  Honey Cove stopped the madness.  If they hadn't come out, the damage would have become too extensive to even use the court.  They cleared everything, they trenched around the court and they put pebble and paper down to help fight future growth.  Obviously it will take occasional treatment, but thanks to Honey Cove Lawn and Landscaping, we finally have a much needed exercise area back in use.  Branden was courteous, on-site during the work, and responsive to all inquiries.  I would highly recommend this lawn service.  In fact, when I can afford more clearing, I'm making a list of jobs to contact them with.

BWheat's Landscape
Wheat's has been great for the one-time projects. They did a wonderful job removing overgrown bushes, installing the new boxwoods, removing pine mulch after we had some pine trees removed, and installing the new drainage system. The quote for the drainage system was actually significantly lower than other companies, but they far exceeded our expectations. We were assigned a project manager for all those tasks. He was great to work with and very professional. We would use them again for these one-time projects. However, their weekly lawn maintenance has been just awful this summer. We used Wheat's at our home in Arlington when we had a small yard. They did a great job on that yard so when we were looking for a new landscaper at our home in Great Falls, we were willing to pay more for Wheat's. We received 2 other quotes with Wheat's estimate coming in much, much higher but we figured that we would be getting better quality and service. We have over 2 acres that needs to be maintained and our lawn has never looked worse. Last summer (using a different landscaping company that we inherited from the previous owners) we had a lush, green lawn. This year, our entire lawn is nothing but clover and weeds. I don't know if they skipped a fertilizing step during their initial cleanup in the spring or what, but it looks terrible. I have also had to call repeatedly to remind them to cut our grass shorter. Several times they would cut it on a Thursday and by Saturday, it was already overgrown. I am also waiting for them to come back out and trim the bushes in our yard that either were not trimmed during the initial clean-up or need to be re-trimmed. Overall, very disappointing given how much money they charge.

ADEL LANDSCAPING
Our project is still going, but the largest part (and the heaviest) is complete. This project has required alot of hard work, many different and often unique tools, and many back breaking hours. David provided it all with a smile and a great attitude about my vision! We are now in the most fun part with plantings and maintaining the plantings and David is helping us with all of it.this summer we focus on the details: the ground cover plantings, fill in plantings and stepping stones. David continues to be a great help and is very reasonabale in his cost projections and actual costs.

FCano Design Builders
We hired Fernando Cano of Cano Design Builders (he also goes by Compass Design Builders) to rebuild a garden retaining wall in May 2015 on a property in Washington, DC. He was originally referred to us by a family member who had used him in the past. We paid Fernando an initial deposit of $1,800 on May 8 2015 for materials to include the laying of 2 retaining walls clad in wood, the resetting of 10 concrete stairs and laying flagstone to their tread; the resetting a couple of patio flagstone and repairing a brick planter. We agreed for the work to be completed in 4 days and by the end of May 2015. Fernando returned May 15th and advised us that wood was structurally unsound for the retaining walls (which we later found out was utter rubbish). He suggested we needed 3 walls of concrete and stone, and asked for an additional $4,190 for materials, including stone cladding. At the same time, he promised to add additional features to the garden, including a low-level seating bench to stretch across the full length of the tiered area; cladding all vertical stair surfaces in stone and laying flagstone cladding to an existing bench. We reluctantly provided him the additional deposit money, but only because he was a referral from a family member. Boy were we duped. After three months, the work was still not completed. Fernando effectively ran off with our deposit money, never to be heard from again. He showed up for work on perhaps 3 different days, and always for an hour or two. The work he did complete was terrible; the cinder blocks and footings to support the retaining wall were just partially completed and were 6-8" deep rather than 3' as promised. The site was left a total and utter mess, dangerous for access with tools, trash -- and even tennis shoes left strewn across the garden. Throughout the process, Fernando repeatedly lied to us about when he would show up for work, would ignore our calls and texts, and make excuses for the job (we have proof of this through saved text messages and voicemails). He also misrepresented himself as holding a contractor license in DC and MD (which he holds neither). Despite attempts to recover our money, Fernando has taken off never to be heard from again. The photos below are of the state he left our garden in. We ended up having to pay for the removal of all his junk, and we had to pay another contractor to actually complete the work. If I could give negative stars in this review I would. Stay clear of Fernando Cano and any company he claims to own or manage!

Having a new tennis court installed is the best way to keep up your game without the expense of driving to a tennis club and contracting a professional tennis court builder is the surest way to get the best tennis court.

How Long Does It Take to Build a Tennis Court?

The contractor will, based on the weather, complete a new tennis court in around 60 days from first dig to final surfacing.

Erecting fencing, excavating for the concrete pad, and installing lighting only takes a few weeks. The majority of the build time is spent waiting for the concrete to cure, or solidify enough to accept the final surface material. The concrete pad needs around a month before its smooth surface can be worked on.

How Much Does Tennis Court Installation Cost?

The professionals of Quality Court Industries, a Louisiana-based tennis court company, put the average cost at around $65,000.

Costs vary geographically and by accessories or options the property owner chooses. What does a tennis aficionado get for that money?

  • Excavating.
  • A post-tensioned slab.
  • Privacy fencing.
  • Court lighting.
  • Surfacing.
  • Accessories — ball-machines, ball holders, benches, net posts, nets, and windscreens.
  • Installation prices range from $50,000 up to $80,000 for a single court.

How to Hire a Tennis Court Installer Near You

  • Look for a professional holding certifications from professional organizations like ASBA, Certified Tennis Court Builder, USPTA, and USTA.
  • Ask for references, read online reviews.
  • Try to get three competitive bids to ensure a competitive price.
  • Make certain any written bid fully details the scope of work.
