Recent Review: We moved into our home nearly 8 months ago and had completely neglected our lawn/landscaping due to multiple personal issues that distracted us from home maintenance. The lawn needed general cleanup, shrubs and small trees were growing without ever having been trimmed, the mailbox post had clearly previously been broken and screwed back together, there was bamboo growing in one corner of the back yard that we feared would eventually take over the yard, there were two large platforms in the back yard (w assumed from sheds that were no longer there), there was a small brush pile in another corner of the back yard...it was all just messy and too overwhelming for us to try to handle ourselves. I contacted Chuck and explained that all we wanted to do for now was clean everything up to make the exterior of our home more presentable. Due to the amount of work e needed, especially with all the shrubs and small trees we wanted removed, I was afraid it was going to be an expensive job. Chuck's quote was lower than I expected, and he also offered some helpful suggestions we hadn't thought of (for example, we had mulch beds that reached the house, which is not good due to moisture being near the siding, so he recommended a small stretch of white stone up against the house to separate the mulch from the home). The final cost did end up being higher than the initial estimate, but Chuck notified me of this as soon as he knew he would have to exceed his original estimated hours to complete the work. I appreciated the heads up as opposed to just getting hit with a higher figure come invoice time. Instead, he had kept me well informed, and the final invoice, though higher than the initial estimate, was still a bit lower than I'd expected for all the work he'd done. In the end, I'm no longer too embarrassed by the exterior of my home to have guests over! Everything looks clean and refreshed, even though winter is on its way, a time when most yards look tired and await springtime for revival.
