Our 13 year old Dell XPS 8300 computer with three gigs of RAM stopped working. (Yes, 13 years old and that is an important fact to the review). We searched Angie's List for a recommendation and selected Mobile PC Masters. We contacted Mobile PC Masters and a gentleman, Gordon King, immediately answered the our telephone call. As it turns out, Mr. King is the owner. We explained the problem to Mr. King over the telephone - which wasn't hard to do - the computer appeared to be dead. We agreed to a comfortable date and time that met his and our schedules. Surprise, Mr. King appeared on the day and at the time we agreed to. Aside from from showing up on-time, one half hour before the scheduled arrival time, Gordon also telephoned to inform us that that he would be there. To us, answering the telephone, the easy scheduling, the pre-arrival telephone call and the on-time schedule arrival were a plus. Upon Mr. King's arrival, he introduced himself and, we might add, he was neatly and professionally attired. He took one look at the 13 year old computer, gulped, and went straight to work. And, he did not seem to mind that an overly inquisitive and nosy owner looked over his shoulder. With an overseer closely breathing down his neck, he deftly took apart the computer and within a short period of time determined the problem - a bound up fan on an overheated, non functioning video card. Guess what, a video card that would repair a 13 year old Dell computer is not easily found. Mr. King suggested to save money and a lot of trouble he might have an used video card in his repair vehicle. He did not. Mr. King took the aged computer computer to search for an acceptable video card. Gordon, after leaving, in the evening, did telephone and inform us that he did not have a used acceptable video card and he would set about the task of securing an appropriate substitute. Two days later he called and said that he had secured an appropriate card and the computer was repaired. We agreed to a time the following the day he would return the computer. Surprise again, Mr. King appeared on-time, appropriately and professionally dressed. He reinstalled the computer. And, surprise again, it worked, and Mr. King ensured that it worked properly for us. And, guess what again, the 13 year old computer worked as well as it did the first day we purchased it. Mr. King, further informed us that he had also "cleaned out" the computer of all the unwanted software stuff that over the years had embedded within the operating system. The computer is important to us. Gordon King repaired it and, further gemtly warned us about the age of the computer's hardware. When asked about a new computer, he suggested another Dell - not a self serving suggestion - for replacement. He also spoke to us regarding the advantages to saving things to the "cloud". Sooooo, the computer is timely repaired, working flawlessly, cleaned up and we have been tutored. We are happy with Mr. King's business, his service and would recommend him to others.
