I actually joined Angie's List to find a person/company to clean my home. I went through the companies and decided on Spotless Finish because of the number of excellent reviews. There were some not so good ones, but no one person/company can be perfect. I contacted them and they got back in touch with me very quickly. We discussed what was wanted and needed and an estimate of price on the phone. The actual price was to be determined after seeing the home, which seemed very reasonable to me. Upon arrival, it was decided the price would be $280. She arrived right on time, which was great. I was expecting more than 1 person to be arriving but it was just one. I was told it would take about 5 hours, which seemed like a lot, but if it was cleaned well, that would be fine. I left for work, so I was gone for about 4 hours or so. When I got back only 1 floor was done. I wondered how the "main" floor was going to be done in 1 hour, but again if it was clean, then great. When I looked at what was cleaned in 4 hours, I was shocked. I was told windows would NOT be cleaned before she came. Which was fine with me, but I WAS told the window sills would be cleaned. They were NOT. In the 3 bedrooms, none of them were vacuumed underneath beds. There are 4 shelves in the master bedroom, NONE were dusted. One of other bedrooms, a clean set of sheets and blankets were laid out. When I got back, they were "neatly folded" on the mattress instead of "BEING MADE". On the upper stairs, the carpet edges were not cleaned, in fact anywhere that was vacuumed she did not take the hand held extension and do the edges, and there is dirt still there. under things were not vacuumed, and there was trash pieces still on the floor. While I was checking the upstairs for what had been cleaned, she told me that "IT WAS NOT FAIR FOR HER TO STAY ANY LONGER" because of how long it had taken her to clean so far and that she was only hired for DEEP CLEANING, her words, not mine. And, that she wanted MORE money, because she had cleaned the oven during her "deep cleaning" session. Another $30. Then, she said she had to go and she would vacuum the downstairs on her way out, but she wouldn't: mop the kitchen vacuum the family room vacuum the living room or take out the trash She told me that I had not disclosed the extent of the "dirtiness" of my home. I had cleaned it the night before, so spending 2 hours to clean one bathroom, does seem correct. So I: mopped the kitchen, vacuumed the family/living room/, took out the trash and cleaned the sills and made the bed.... AFTER PAYING $310.
