Earth Graphics
Recent Review: Within 24 hours of contacting Earth Graphics, Sean returned our call and scheduled an appointment for an estimate. We showed him pictures (through Houzz, Pinterest, etc) of yards that we liked and then gave him a tour of our yard. As we walked through the yard and he took measurements, he asked about plants that we liked/didn't like, asked about our budget, timing, etc. He educated us on various materials (eg, Trex decks vs various patio types - pros and cons, cost estimates, longevity, etc), and made various recommendations. Within about a week, we had the blueprints of our dream front and back yards! We are excited to implement his recommendations. Sean is knowledgeable, patient, honest, and trustworthy. I will recommend him to anyone who needs a landscape architect

Business Description: Since 1980, The King’s Masons, Inc. has established it’s unique reputation specializing exclusively in hard-scape design and construction in the Virginia, Maryland, D.C. area. Most landscape design begins with the need for elements such as: patios, walks, driveways, porches, steps, walls, posts, columns, pools, fountains etc. Through many centuries of construction quality masonry materials have proved to be the most durable and aesthetically pleasing. For example: 1. Which will look best with your home’s architectural style? 2. How can we effectively match new materials to existing ones? 3. What are your options for materials, colors, patterns? 4. How does the choice of material or construction methodology affect cost? 5. How durable are the materials, and are there any maintenance issues? The majority of our clients are homeowners that have come to us through personal referrals. AJ & G Landscape Design Inc...
Excellent. Designers who came to site were the only company who proposed the same scope of work suggested by my engineer and friend who is a trusted landscape architect. They examined the site carefully, explained everything to me, and proposed a functional solution. The price was higher than other companies, but their careful proposal was the only one that I had faith in of the three quotes I received (I am a structural engineer). There was a wait for the work to be completed, but once they began it was completed as promised. Professional crew, responsive project manager, good project communication throughout. Crew was willing to provide small adjustments to improve the final product.

AMatthews Construction & Design LLC...
We have nothing but complements on the job that was completed and we will certainly hire this company again for future work. The following are some of the areas worth noting regarding Matthews Construction’s performance: • Brian Matthews was our main contact for the work and gets a lot of the credit. Brian was always available to us – early in the morning, late at night, over weekends and holidays and once from the dentist chair! • Brian treated the work with the highest priority and was involved in any detail of it. He was not shy about expressing his opinion and providing advice. In fact, we made several changes from the original architect drawings based on his feedback and we are very pleased with the outcome. • Brian’s team was the same group of professionals from beginning to end. They were all specialists in their field and performed their task with quality, leaving the house clean when they left and were always pleasant. • We lived in the house during the renovation with three kids and three dogs – Brian and his team did their best to maintain normalcy during that period. We especially appreciated how they worked around the kitchen renovation so that we will only be left without a functioning kitchen for a short period of time. • We always knew where we stand re progress and the project was concluded with no delays. • Brian Matthews was kind enough to provide us with an unplanned addition to the hardscaping work for free!

AXtra Care Landscaping & Design INC...
The company is extremely professional and reliable. They are very responsive and technologically savvy. They were very thorough and professional. They had a timeline and stuck to it. My demands changed as the project moved along and they were very flexible. They pricing was very reasonable. We had an issues with a mudslide in the middle of the project and they were great about coming up with solutions to fix it. The quality of their work is fantastic, my garden is blooming.

DPrestige Contractors LLC...
Original job completed 22Jul17, very poor quality had to be redone. Final product completed 08Sep17; lots of no shows, no communication, supplies left on my lawn for weeks and killed large patches of my grass. Patio finally looks sturdy and nice however I am being advised by a prifessionsl architect that the pavers are too high and during a heavy rain water will seep under my French doors and flood my newly floored basement; time will tell.

APremier HomePro (240) 223-7034...
WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!! We are professional real estate investors and after coming close to losing our shirt on an in progress whole house renovation, we contacted Premier Home Pro. Alan and his team stepped in and saved the day. He and his team are top notch professionals. He made great suggestions for the best way to redesign the space for maximum resale appeal. He added a bathroom and a bedroom in the basement. The suggestions allowed us to sell the house as a 4 bedroom, 3-bathroom house instead of a 3/2. Needless to say, we sold it for a lot more money than planned. He made beautiful selections for the flooring, lighting, paint colors, and all the finishes such as vanities, countertops, and cabinetry. Because his firm is a design and build firm, we saved a ton of money by not having to employ an architect to do the architectural plans and drawings. They were well mannered, respectful, and a joy to work with. Alan is extremely responsive. We never had to wait more than about an hour to get a response from emails or phone calls. His team started each day early and worked diligently all day. At the end of each day, they left the work site tidy and well organized. Alan stayed in constant communication with us regarding the status of the job. The finished product was completed with excellent workmanship, beautiful finish work with keen eye for the details. The entire project went off with minimal hiccups and even came in a little under budget. In addition, Alan is an all-around good guy to boot! It just doesn’t get any better. Trust me, we’ve been around the block a time or two with contractors. We rarely give reviews, but this one was well deserved. Thanks for everything Alan; you have a client for life!

AProfessional Grounds Inc...
We hired Professional Grounds and have been pleased every step of the way. We plan on hiring them again for additional landscaping. The staff is extremely responsive and helpful. The landscape architect we worked with came up with a beautiful and creative design that met our needs and also took into consideration that I am not the world's best gardener. When it came time for installation, they were professional, on-time, and on-budget, which is really important to me. The work crews were tidy, respectful, and did a phenomenal job on all the small details. The work of an overall fantastic company.

Landscape architects use your outdoor spaces as their canvasses, so picking the right professional to set up your backyard style is essential. Follow these landscape architects hiring tips to pick out an architect who will understand your vision for your home.

1. Learn About Licensing

In many states, landscape architects must become licensed before they can start transforming outdoor spaces into works of art. Check the licensing requirements in your state, and then ask any outdoor architects you're planning to work with if they're fully in line with the law.

2. Ask for a Free Consultation

If an architect is worth working with, they will want to know everything they can about your space before they decide whether or not your project is right for them. Invite any outdoor architects you're considering working with to visit your home, and ask them to survey your property. It's only after they've taken in all of the little details of your scenario that they'll be able to provide you with an educated estimate, and when they do give you an idea of how much it will cost to transform your outdoor space, make sure you get your estimate in writing.

3. Run a Background Check

Once you've found one or more architects who you feel would be a good fit for your project, ask them for the contact information of customers they've worked with in the past. Get the customers' opinions on the company, and then check Angie's List for more local reviews.
