FFair Appliance Repair LLC
It did not go well. He didn't fix the problem and then said he really doesn't work on KitchenAide refrigerators. WHAT!! After he works on the freezer but can't fix it he then says he is not qualified to work on KitchenAide. I had to call KitchenAide and pay for another Tech who does work on KitchenAide to come and repaid the freezer.

The service man came within the appointed time and called 10 mins before arriving.  He went right to work, showed me the parts that needed to be replaced and  provided the cost for the repair.  He had the parts, so he replaced them and saw to it that the dishwasher and refrigerator were working before he left.   Repairing these myself obviously would have been a lot cheaper, but I was uncomfortable pulling these appliances apart.  Unfortunately I'm stuck with having to pay for these types of repairs -- but I'm happy with the results.  I will definitely call them again when I need an appliance serviced.

My KitchenAide oven was not working correctly on the regular bake or broil cycles but the convection cycles were working fine. I thought that the computer control probably needed to be replaced so, based on good reviews from Angie's List, I called Alco Appliance. The service technician arrived promptly on the scheduled day and carefully checked all the oven functions. He determined that the control panel did not need to be replaced, the oven only needed to be recalibrated and that is what he did. The technician could have sold me a new control panel at a cost of several hundred dollars and I would have been none the wiser. Instead, the charge for recalibration was just over $100. The oven has been working perfectly for over a month now. It is wonderful to find a company with such high integrity! They have my highest recommendation.

We were able to get a same day appointment to have our dishwasher fixed.  The tech called before arriving, and arrived at the beginning of the window that we were given.  He had the parts necessary to complete the repair on his truck, and worked quickly to get the work completed.  He was also very friendly and professional.

It went great from start to finish. Called and spoke to Bonnie who set up the appt. She was very nice over the phone. The Tech. who came was on time and called to say when we would arrive 10 minutes out. I thought I was going to save some $$ so I purchased a door seal from an online Appliance Store after watching UTube.I installed it but it still leaked. That's when I called All American Appliance Service Inc.The tech open the door of the dishwasher and saw I installed the door seal backwards. Showed me the rib on it and how that need to be turned around. Told me it was a common mistake if you do not know what your doing. He installed it and we turned on the dishwasher. It seem to fix it and I told him so when suddenly water was leaking again. We quickly turned off the water and said it was the valve. He had one on the truck. We talked about his childern, old job, and come to find out I knew his Dad who work for the Cnty. when I did.He was very friendly. He spoke very highly of his companyand like working for them.I would call them for any appliance work I need again. I was not charge for re-installing the door seal just the valve, which I thought was very kind of them. After installing the valve the tech. stayed to make sure it did not leak and told me if it did to call him and he would come back as soon as he could. I did not have to do that. NO LEAKS. Happy wife Happy Life.

The combo oven was out of the 1 year warranty period: KitchenAid warranty for years 2-10 mentions covering rusted out oven, electronic touch control panel and is vague beyond that. This unit had replaced an identical earlier model which had lasted about 9 years (the microwave in that also failed and after 3 service visits was judged non-repairable), so I have a low opinion of KitchenAid's engineering and product quality. Extended service plans are rarely worth the cost. It's an insurance policy and self-insuring has generally been a better deal for me. However I am reevaluating this in the case of KitchenAid appliances I called the KitchenAid 800 number and the support person was very professional and helpful. They confirmed--with some effort as they likewise found the warranty language vague--the parts likely wouldn't be covered by the warranty. KitchenAid does offer a repair plus one service option. That is 1 repair for $298 plus coverage for 1 year after the repair date. The parts would cost me over $200, possibly much more, service visits more--so it was an easy decision to take this option. The coverage is provided via Assurant company & if I have problems in the next year I have to schedule repair thru them & not KitchenAid--hopefully I won't learn how well or poorly that would work. The work of the Via repair folks was excellent from beginning to end. I searched for repair providers for the oven unit which failed 20 months ago and some of the KitchenAid warranty-recommended service companies were quite poorly rated (several different companies provide such service in the Washington, DC area). I was very pleased with the entire Via service operation from the appointment scheduling through the service call.

AExpert Appliance Services
Called on Thursday afternoon and technician was able to come next day! Tech was prompt (actually called and said he could arrive earlier and asked if that was okay), put shoe covers on before entering my house, used tarp to protect floor where working, quoted price before beginning repair, completed work quickly, and even gave me info on a warranty-covered common problem with our microwave (in case it ever acts up). Highly recommend & will be at top of my list for future needs or referrals!

I called DMV Appliance Repair on Monday, November 4th.  I was off work on Wednesday, November 6th and DMV accommodated my scheduled appointments.   Ali was the technician.  He arrived right on time, was very professional and pleasant.  He knew exactly what the problem was and how to resolve it.  I was very pleased and will definitely call DMV Appliance again for any home appliance repairs that come up (hopefully there won't be any). AL & M Appliance Service
In January 2014 our expensive 18 month old dishwasher decided to drain itself onto the floor instead of through the attached hose. We thought it might be a bad hose connection so we called a plumber, who was very nice, charged $300 to replace a handle under the sink, and said the dishwasher wasn't a plumbing issue. I called KitchenAid, they gave me the names of 2 companies to call for repairs but these companies were more interested in selling me an extended warranty. I wasn't impressed with this 'service'. After reviewing customers' comments and ratings on Angie's List and the Washington Checkbook, I decided to call Land M Appliance Service. The owner, Buddy, came to check the dishwasher about a week later. He said the dishwasher needed a new pump and motor, he ordered the parts the same day, and installed them a week later. He was very professional, nice to work with, and his fees were reasonable. He notified us well in advance of arrival times and was very thorough and attentive to the work he was doing, including a follow up visit the day after the repair to make sure everything was working correctly. I will definitely call Buddy first if any of our other appliances need some attention.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! After two years, our new fridge began making a high pitched noise and the compressor was running constantly. We called customer service and scheduled a service visit within a week. The 1st technician (7/14) diagnosed the problem as a faulty compressor and indicated one would be ordered ASAP. After not hearing back, we began calling customer service and experienced either no answer, or no returned messages. Finally, we spoke with a representative who indicated an inverter had been ordered. We asked why the compressor was not ordered per the technician's advice and the response was "we ordered an inverter." The compay indicated he part was due in August 2nd. We called on 8/2 and were told that the part was backordered until 8/31. We then called KitchenAid directly and they indicated that the part was in stock. The technician came back in early September and explained that he was told by KitchenAid that the problem was the inverter, and that is why the part order was changed. The technician then installed the inverter, but the problem persisted. The technician then determined the problmem must have been the compressor. According to B&S the compressor was ordered immedeately. On Monday 9/20 (2.months after the original call) a new tecnician came back to install the compressor. Within 1 minute of looking at the fridge he diagnosed a problem with the cooling fan and indicated that the compressor and inverter were fine. We explained our profound frustration with the experience and he indicated that we would receive the part ASAP. We followed up with B&S the following Monday and were told the part was ordered the previous Tuesday, and were given an expected part delivery date that had come and gone. When we pushed the issue, the "service woman" said "we'll call you when it gets in." Today is 9/29 and we still have not heard anything. We have been without our refridgerator for almost 2.5 months. I cannot express enough what an awful experience this has been and coninues to be. I am left with the opinion that B&S views its custmers as suckers to exploit. As I review this commentary I do not believe it does the experience justice. There are no words to describe the feeling I have toward Bray & Scarff. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. THEY TREAT YOU LIKE TRASH. I CANNOT BELIEVE JUST HOW BAD IT IS. An "F" rating is generous.

CJim's Appliance Repair Service & Sales
We have been clients of Jim's since 2001, and have always been happy with their service. With the exception of a few repairs, we have mainly contracted with Jim's to clean the coils, etc. of our Sub Zero fridge, originally, and now our KitchenAid fridge, twice a year. The two-year prepaid contracts we have signed with Jim's have specified when each cleaning would take place, and we have received a call like clockwork to schedule each appointment. Until now. I recently realized that we hadn't had a cleaning this year, though there should have been one in January based upon the established schedule. When I called the office, I was told that they had called me "numerous times" (I received NO messages), and because I had not called back, I had "forfeited the cleaning." Wow -- really? Is that any way to treat a client? No apology and a fair amount of push-back. Very disappointing. The woman in the office agreed to "reinstate" my account, scheduled the forgotten cleaning, and promised to send a new contract with the service technician when he comes. While I will most likely re-up with Jim's for another series of cleanings, I need to give it some thought after such shabby treatment. Let me be clear: we have always been happy with the technician's work, but the company's management needs to up their game.

Lousy. Technician arrived turned on microwave. Light went on, turn table worked but no heat. He said it.s the magnetron. I said how do you know you didn't test. He said I listened. He then spent 15 minutes clicking door switch on and off. I asked what are you doing. Trying to reset was his answer. After some time said need new magnetron and door switches. Nothing working. Just a digital message saying door. Then checked price to repair. $600.00. He said not worth it. Just buy stand alone for counter. Gave me a service call bill for $89.00 and left. Now granted microwave wasn't working when he arrived but door switches were and the convection oven was apparently working..(he didn't check that) Now nothing.

Our Kitchenaid dishwasher was not cleaning dishes in the upper rack nor dispensing rinse agent. He found that the motor was malfuncting and ordered a new one for us. It came in 2 days, and then he quickly scheduled a visit to install it, which I appreciated. This project him to remove the dishwasher to get at the part.. Work was done quickly and professionally and with minimum mess or disruption.  Now the dishes are clean and al lis well. :)

I had a tiny leak coming from my refrigerator, which I thought (hoped) was related to the ice maker. I called and left a message and received a call immediately back from Tina at DMV. She was terrific and very, very professional. She explained how they work -- 3-hour appointment window, no charge for the service call if work is authorized, Angie's List coupon would apply even without a printed copy. The repair person showed up on time, work was done quickly, and repair was very reasonably priced. I would totally use this company again. Tina was wonderful. Polite, professional and they were punctual and affordable.
