Gio Home Improvements
Recent Review: I called Gio for a quote which sounded reasonable for the siding repair and painting. Other companies were quoting a minimum for painting alone, and because of the height added extra fees. The painting was not a difficult task, but because of the height it made the task unreachable from our 10 foot ladder. He showed up the next day, and was able to replace the siding to prevent future damage to my home. He understood HOA rules and made sure to match the siding color and paint. He also inspected for mold and potential future issues that I should consider. He was knowledgeable, and I really felt that he was looking out for my best interest.

Signature WoodCrafters
Recent Review: The previous owners had painted our kitchen cabinets/drawers. The painted surfaces were thick, yellowish, and looked horrendous. The layout of the kitchen worked fine and the solid surface/quartz countertops were acceptable so there was no need for us to consider reconfiguring/remodeling. We called out 2 professional painters and 4 refacing companies including Signature Woodcrafters to provide estimates on either painting or refacing. Signature looked to be the most professional and experienced contractor while also offering the best product/solution. Alex Van Nuys who had come out for the estimate worked up a detailed proposal with detailed product specs and pricing. This demostrated a professional and systematic approach to their sales which was very appealing to us. We had received estimates between $8000 - $18000 for painting or refacing. Signature's proposal/estimate gave us the confidence that they had the attention to detail and professionalism that we expected for the price tag we were looking at for our kitchen project. I called their references and even went out to see the kitchen recrafting of a prior customer. I also went to their Haymarket showroom. We asked Alex if they would give us any kind of discount. Alex didn't hesitate to ask her sales manager, Beth. We felt that they gave us their best price. Signature was the right balance of expertise, quality and price. They were professional from the very beginning and through out the entire job. They had processes in place to ensure the project went smoothly. They offered a variety of woods and finishes. We wanted somthing that would last at least 7-10 years or longer and could handle the wear and tear that a kitchen gets. We choose a and quot;soft whiteand quot; finish with a bronze glaze that would compliment the existing countertop. After we accepted the proposal, an on site measurement appointment was scheduled. A project manager, Bobby came out and gathered and documented detailed measurements which would be sent to their own cabinet factory. His experience was obvious and reassured me that we had made the right choice. Signature was able to customize where necessary; adding an additional drawer under the new built-in micro/oven unit and adding additional drawers in a new frame which previously was empty space under the kitchen desk. It took about five weeks from the time of the order to then schedule the install. Several weeks after the order, I received a product color sample from the factory which Signature requested that I sign/approve and send back to them. I accidently left/lost the sample at Home Depot. Signature had no problem sending me another. Installation was finally scheduled and three installers came out for three days. I was again impressed. They were professional, friendly, and experienced. After watching them work, I then understood why they call it recrafting. The product is really and quot;craftedand quot; by way of measurement and on-site custom trimming to exactly fit over your existing cabinet frames. The custom cuts they did were amazingly perfect - around corners, the crown molding etc. Unfortunately, some panels were missing in the order delivery and an incorrect cabinet door was made but Signature promptly reordered and reinstalled the correct panels/door as quickly as they could. They also came back to finish some detailed work with filling in seams and wiping off some glue smears etc. Alex communicated with me throughout the entire process and apologized for their factory mistake. Another mistake they made was in my favor; the factory provided self closing drawers which we did not want to pay extra for but we certainly enjoy and love the feature. Overall, we are extremely pleased with out kitchen recraft transformation. Signature Woodcrafters offers a quality product, experience, and a systematic approach to the entire project.

RENDON REMODELING & DESIGN LLC
Recent Review: Rendon gutted and remodeled 2 of our bathrooms and we could not be happier with the entire process and Rendon as a remodeling company. We met with Michael, went over our ideas and he promptly gave us an estimate. We tweaked the estimate just a bit, there were some things we wanted to add, but found their estimate to be quite fair, detailed and transparent, and definitely not the most expensive. Michael was extremely responsive to us including being available by email and text on evenings and weekends.   Next we met with their designer, Amy, who was awesome at helping us make our selections. She is obviously very experienced and quickly helped us narrow down our choices so it was not an overwhelming process. We had a slight glitch with our granite choice but Rendon and Amy went above and beyond to take care of the situation and we ended up with granite better suited to our project. Just before the project started we met with Michael and Joey, the project manager. They walked us through what to expect and answered all our questions. Joey was on site everyday and was very proactive in his management of the project. He was in constant communication with us and the project stayed on time and on budget. Joey is an absolute perfectionist and left no stone unturned at the walk through. If there were imperfections, they were not obvious to me, but Joey made sure anything he was not satisfied with was fixed ASAP. Rendon?s employees are all top notch and a pleasure to have working in your home. Will is an artist when it comes to fixing walls that aren?t level and painting.  Their carpenters are some of the hardest working guys we?ve seen not to mention their level of skill. It cannot be easy to install crown molding and other trim work when the walls are not level and make it look as phenomenal as they did. Rendon provided a level of satisfaction we have not experienced with any other contractor. We will not hesitate to call Rendon for our next remodeling project.

Mondo Improvements Inc
Award 2017Super Service Award
Recent Review: We can't say enough good.  We had a huge job for Mondo and they did an outstanding job.  Our home is 20+ years old, the last five of which it had renters in it who were a bit tough on things.  The price was big, but the amount of work we needed performed was large as well.  Greg came in and reviewed all of our requests for work.  He also made several great suggestions for additional work which we agreed made good sense and we added those to the work order as well.  He provided a bid that was well in line with others we received and we decided we liked working with him best, based on his good suggestions, easy to work-with-personality, and Mondo's good reputation.  Greg has incredibly good sense for colors, decorating ideas, etc., that make good sense, and understands the homeowner's concern for details.  He was also very attentive to our deadline issues (for moving back into the home.) The work crews spent several weeks working at our home.  There were polite, professional, honest and hard-working.  (We were not living at the home during the work, but were there every day working on other projects on the home while the crews did their work.)  We were very pleased with the extensive prep-work before painting began.  Crews identified drywall flaws/imperfections and did a great job of fixing everything so that the final painted walls looked great; better than original.  The crew members are all experienced, mostly longtime Mondo employees, and it shows in their work. Greg was extremely helpful during the color selection process and has excellent taste.  At his suggestion, we added moldings in several rooms (wall, footboard, crown molding, etc.), epoxied the garage floor--which my husband loves--and relocated our kitchen island.  Greg also understood some minor touch-ups would be required after our move in, and sent the crew back to take care of it. We highly recommend Mondo and will be using them exclusively for our future home painting needs.

MW Construction Services LLC

Recent Review: Great! We've used MW for the projects (adding a second bathroom and remodeling our kitchen) and they always do excellent work for a fair price. They are easy to work with and responsive. They have good ideas for how to work around the oddities of an old house like ours. They attend to a lot of little details that never would have occurred to me, or to a lot of other contractors, from what I've seen. The MW carpenters, painters, and other employees are professional and courteous They do good work and they clean up after themselves. They went above and beyond the call of duty to help me accommodate houseguests in the middle of the project (the basement serves as our guest room). You can tell the finished product is excellent quality, and everyone who comes to our house comments on how good it looks and what a good use of space it is in our small house.

JC Custom Painting LLC
Award 2017Super Service Award
Recent Review: We were very happy with Edwin Ayala/JC Custom Painting who is reasonably priced and does fantastic work. He and his crew painted our entire house on the inside before we moved in and worked their tails off to meet the timeline. They also finished off the garage drywall, painted it, and finished the garage floor to a showroom finish. They designed and installed shadowboxes in our dining room, entrance way, and staircase and boxed in the dining room ceiling for an elegant touch. We also had them install crown molding in our kitchen and great room that matched the existing crown molding. Lastly they painted our deck concrete floors and ceiling (bare wood) to make it a great outdoor space. Every suggestion Edwin had was spot on and glad we did it - a great paint job with quality scrubbable paint really makes a huge difference especially with little kids. He also offers a lifetime warranty on his work. The house looks fantastic, our house is the envy of the neighborhood (especially the garage) and we feel the money was well spent.

Recent Review: It could not have gone better.  Bryan Barb came out and gave me an estimate which I felt was within reason.  He arrived when he said he would and was very thorough in emailing the contract to me within several hours.  Bryan told me that he and his team were running about a two-week wait period.  There was an opportunity for our job to move up earlier because of some rain setting back exterior jobs but because we had house guests I had to decline.  However, within two weeks Bryan came to the house exactly at the appointed time and introduced us to Marvin and Jose who would be doing the work.  First, I was impressed by their professional attitude and demeanor.  Second, as they set about to start they put down drop clothes from the front door to the work area and then they sealed off the kitchen from the rest of the house with plastic so that no dust or fumes would and very little noise would be noticed in the rest of the first floor.  Before they started they asked any questions and clarified anything that may have been ambiguous.  Once they began their work my husband and I let Marvin and Jose know we were going to run some errands and left them to do their work.  Finally, when the job was completed which took between 8 to 9 hours they cleaned everything up so you would not have known they had even been there.  When the work was complete Marvin and I walked through and checked every item that was to be done and he made certain that it was done to our satisfaction -- which it was.  I gave him the check for the work and we parted with a happy hand shake.  After Marvin and Jose drove away we just stood in our kitchen smiling as we were so pleased with the workmanship and the way our renovated kitchen looked now that the final touch, the new paint color, was completed.  Bryan Barb contacted me that evening to make sure we were happy with the work and the workers.  I assured him that we were and there would be future work in the future.  I cannot say enough good things about Professional Painting, LLC, Bryan Barb and his team.  They are true professionals and a pleasure with which to work.  I highly recommend them to friends and neighbors.

DGL Construction & Renovation

Recent Review: DLG did a fantastic job all the way from contacting me to concluding the project. They were very responsive. Diego let me know his plan for each day, was mindful to understand how I envisioned the space, he sought my ideas, and shared his options with pros and cons to accomplish my vision. I had a set budget, so Diego worked me with me on figuring out which parts of the job were most cost effective for DLG to do, and I was able to buy a few materials in order to save time and money. DLG was very clear about all expenses and labor costs.

Closeby Reviews - Crown Molding Contractors
AServicePro Express Inc...
Chris, Joe and their crew were fantastic. Chris sat down with us at the beginning, made suggestions to guide us but gave us plenty of room to make our own decisions. He suggested ways to get what we wanted economically, adding nice touches to the remodel with little added cost. Such as removing a baffle between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling and putting in crown molding instead. It really opened up the room. They even constructed a cat hiding place for us on the counter on the last day from left over shelving four our reclusive cat. The crew were courteous, professional, craftsmen. In at 8, out by 4:30 and everything was cleaned up before they left for the day. It was a fantastic experience all the way around and we are very pleased with the end result. We are looking for other projects for ServicePro Express to take on.

The work was outstanding. Gerver and his crew were on-time, gave a very reasonable quote, performed the work on-schedule, and left at the end of each day with the work space completely clean. He was knowledgeable about the many types of work needed, was very experienced in each, and even offered support on other projects I was considering. I highly recommend him and would hire him again.

AJCabido Remodeling...
We had a project manager to work with plus a two man crew who were here most every day. Electrical work, flooring installation and carpet installation were performed by separate crews who specialized in these areas. All of the work done has been amazing. Everyone who worked on the house was professional and an expert at their job. Requests/problems were handled as quickly as possible. They will be working on renovating our kitchen in January and then will do our basement area in the spring. My husband and I are so happy with all the work done. My one reminder to anyone embarking on major renovations to their house is to remember that it is disruptive – noisy and dusty for days on end. For about two weeks I did have to live mostly in our kitchen during the day. Also remember that sometimes changes have to made – so roll with the punches. If I could give them an A+++++++ I would. I will take some pictures and post them later.

AHIVEX Basement Finishing Co. ...
We hired HIVEX to finish our basement. After reading numerous reviews HIVEX stood out. Plenty of the homes in our neighborhood have used and recommend HIVEX to complete their basement. From our first interaction with the office to meeting Dan and going over the estimate, I was sold that HIVEX would be our best bang for the buck. The team showed up July 5th ready to rock and roll. Basement was framed out quickly and we were off to the races. Bob was great to work with as the PM. I had non stop questions and he took the time to answer them for me. It took just under 3 months to complete the project though the majority of work was completed in 2 months - minor issues like waiting on crown molding to come in delayed the project some. All in all the wife and I could not be happier with the basement and the honesty that HIVEX afforded to us. I would recommend them to anyone looking to finish their basement.

DSTAR MARBLE AND GRANITE...
A friend referred me to Star Marble after having them install granite in a bathroom...I was looking for someone to do a kitchen remodel for me. I ordered cabinets from Cabinet Discounters and needed someone to do the install, provide granite, paint, new lighting and crown molding in kitchen and adjacent family room. Went with Star marble on recommendation from friend and because I felt comfortable with Isaac and Lisa when they came out and gave me an estimate. Everything went great with picking out the granite at their warehouse. They have a huge selection to chose from. The work started in early May...this is when everything started to go downhill...The first day the workers showed up as planned...that's about the only day they showed as planned. They would say that they would be at my house at 8 or 9 and I would stay home from work waiting for someone and they may show at 10 or 11 or not at all! The first few days, I tried to be patient but after losing more and more work time, I started to lose patience and finally started calling the office to see where the workers were. I eventually asked to be notified when I should expect to see someone so I wouldn't be waiting for hours losing work time for no one to show. Well, this too didn't work because most days, I wouldn't be contacted and would again be waiting hours after expected show time. Because of the late/no shows, the job took a lot longer than originally expected. It took a month to install cabinets/granite, new lighting, paint and crown molding. Once the crew finally finished the job, I will admit that it looked great...until you started looking closer and didn't take long for shoddy workmanship to start showing. The cabinets that I ordered from "Cabinet Discounters" (name is totally misleading but great product!) were custom hand paint that my wife and I picked out...we noticed that the installer drilled the wrong holes in one of the drawer fronts for the handle and tried to cover it up by filling the holes and a horrible job with touchup paint. I contacted Star Marble and sent them pictures of this. They sent Carlos out and he said that they would order a new drawer front from Cabinet Discounters. Problem is with it being custom paint, I doubt it will match properly. Well, that was 2 months ago and I have heard nothing back from Star Marble about the replacement! About the same time as this discovery, incompetence started to show up in the crown molding...The joints where cuts were joined and glued.molded together started to pull apart. It started with one and over a couple of months, almost every joint has pulled apart and looks horrible. The only thing I would recommend Star Marble for if anything would be granite. The only reason I give more than one star is because the granite is beautiful and the install for that was also late. If you order expensive cabinets, pick someone else to do the install!

APrime Construction Corp...
I hired Prime Construction to build a screened in porch for me, and they did such a good job that i asked them to fix a poorly done kitchen install job that I had hired someone for the previous year. One recommendation: A kitchen install requires highly skilled labor. if it is poorly done, the skilled labor will generally not want to deal with fixing someone else's mistakes which is actually more work, and fixing it is too small a job to interest them. I had been trying to find someone good for over a year. Augustin accepted to work with me as long as I fit within his schedule, and his guys did an amazing job of fixing the issues I had. They had to take out many cabinets and reinstall, re-secure cabinets, adjust doors, level and lower a pantry cabinet (cut bottom off), straighten sides of a warped cabinet, put in crown molding, fix crooked toe-kick, install thresholds, straighten warped panels as much as possible. The price was reasonable. Work took a day and a half of 2 skilled individuals. They were flexible to accommodate additional items requested, and were very clean (dust from cutting, dealing with trash, etc..). I cannot insist enough on the quality of the labor provided because this was not an easy job. Thank you so much!
