Recent Review: The experience went well.  I called the weekend before about my dryer not drying my clothes.  Expert Appliance Services first suggested that I clean the dryer vent (which I had done) and also gave me a couple other suggestions to confirm that it wasn't the vent and thus something I could fix myself. Once I confirmed it wasn't the vent, Expert Appliance Service came back out and looked at the dryer.  They confirmed one of the heating elements was broken and they came out the next day to repair it after they had retrieved the part.  The repairman was knowledgeable and explained every in detail when I asked him.

Apache Appliance
Recent Review: I scheduled a service call but the tech called me back later and walked me through a simple fix! Merely swapping one knob for another did the trick. He also cautioned to always turn the knob clockwise, never counterclockwise. We have bought several appliances from them and always been very happy with the service. They go above and beyond for their customers.

Atlantic Appliance Repair
Award 2018Super Service Award
Recent Review: I recently hired Atlantic Appliance Repair to repair my older model GE dryer.  The trip charge was $49.95, compared to GE's $90 + , and it was waived by Atlantic when I went ahead and did the repair. GE's charge would not have been waived nor applied to the repair cost.  A very pleasant gentleman named Singh came to do the estimate the same day I called to request it, and he also did the repair when he returned with the parts.  Although the cost was $300+ (after giving me a discount that I believe was because I'm an Angie's List member), I went ahead and spent it, because the parts were more expensive due to the age of the dryer; I wasn't in the mood to shop for a new dryer (a very cursory search showed I would have paid around $700 for a new one); and I believe in repairing something that still has life in it rather than tossing it in the landfill.  Singh also showed me the lint that had collected behind the drum and recommended I get my dryer vent cleaned as soon as possible (they do not do that work). I recommend this company very highly.  Their website is atlanticapplicancerepair.com.  Their phones are 703-595-4640 or 703-455-5447.

METROPOLITAN SERVICES INC
Recent Review: Our GE dryer is about 5 years old. In September it started to make some unpleasant noises -- grinding and clanking -- but intermittently. If we let it "rest," the noise would go away and the dryer would work fine. We called Metropolitan. (They had previously done a good job fixing the washer.) But when the repairman (Daniel) showed up, it refused to cooperate and ran as smooth as silk. He said to call him if it started making the noise again within three months and he would deduct the cost of his diagnostic visit ($100) from the total charge. The noise remained intermittent -- and rare. But I was able to record the sound on my phone. I called Metropolitan and Daniel listened to the (rather poor quality) recording over the (rather poor quality) phone connection. After 10 seconds he said, "That's a bad back bearing." He ordered the part and was back in less than a week from my phone call. Disassembling the dryer showed that his diagnosis was 100% correct and he was able to fix it immediately. Daniel showed great professionalism and skill throughout the whole process. We will definitely go back to them with any future problems.

A-Nova Appliance Factory Authorized Service
Recent Review: 17 month old GE dryer would not start. Called Gary at NOVA Appliance Repair. He came the same day in the evening, diagnosed a bad thermal fuse and replaced it. He also recommended that we have the dryer vent lined cleaned because it was likely clogged which caused the thermal fuse to blow. I had a cleaning done and it was clogged. Excellent and quick service. Would highly recommend.

AAppliance Geek Inc
I was very happy with my experience with Appliance Geek and would use them again. I bought an Angie's List deal for a large appliance service. The rep came to inspect my dryer and found that the drum was cracked. He actually seemed to personally care about the fact that a 3 year old Maytag dryer would break in this fashion. (He shook his head and commented on the terrible craftsmanship of the part) He seemed very knowledgeable - commenting about different brands and how often their drums break. (GE dryers apparently have this issue frequently)  I was most impressed that he did not try to sell us an overpriced replacement part. He told me the price his supplier could get the part for, and let me comparison shop. I ended up getting a better price through Sears appliance parts, so I ordered it, let him know when it came, and then scheduled another time for him to complete the repair. He finished putting the new drum in and now my dryer works like new again.  The only small downside is that my voice mails were not returned. I had to call again until I managed to get a live person. Despite that, I will happily use Appliance Geek again for my next appliance repair.

BAll Appliance Pro
I did not permit the repairman to enter my home at 9:00 p.m. so I called the next day to reschedule.  He arrived for the next appointment and completed the repair.  When it came time to pay, however, there is a mix up between him and his company.  He was asking me what they quoted me over the phone.  When I told him, he got upset.  Then he called his company and was on the phone for quite awhile talking in a foreign language.  When he put his company on the line for me to talk with, they could not give me an accurate price for the service.  They told me it would be $250 for the part, plus tax and probably shipping.  I ended up giving them $100 more for the labor and to cover other parts.  And the paperwork for the receipt showed the company as Arrow Appliance Services - not All Appliance Pro.  Strange way to expect repeat customers.
