Reviews of Driveway Sealers In Your Area

ATriple A Paving
We were not happy after the driveway was originally seal coated.  An oil-based product was used as opposed to a coal-based product (was not informed beforehand) this left the driveway shiny and all of the imperfections stuck out like a sore thumb, and NONE of the cracks were sealed at all.  I called and complained about the work.  The owner came out, looked at the work that had been done and agreed.  Finally this week the entire job was redone - all of the cracks were properly sealed and the entire driveway was re-sealed with the coal-based sealer.  The owner even offered to refund the money I paid for the inconvenience and the long timeline, which I refused.  I just wanted the job done properly, and now it is fine.  I would use this company again since he kept his word!

Good job for large driveway. They filled cracks both large and small first and did even layer of sealcoat. No negotiation, used price from mailed flyer.

Great job sealing an asphalt driveway that had been neglected for over 10 years. Driveway over 200 feet long W parking spaces and required patching two large holes (after 3 months it still looks new—no degradation). Once the first coat was applied the driveway absorbed and needed another coat to give a solid seal. Cooper gave my driveway a couple more years before I need to rip and replace. (I had several estimates and all agreed the driveway would sooner than later require total replacement. Cooper was very honest w their assessment too but I needed time ... this seal will do the job). Appreciate their honesty. I had 5 other neighbors use Cooper that week and all are happy w the price and quality. One neighbor had Cooper rip out his driveway and replace. They are happy too.

Very well. We have had repair/sealing done by three other companies over the last 10 years. Stuart Sealcoating's work has exceeded the quality of the others.

AStuart Sealcoating, LLC
I rarely give recommendations for contractors, but let me tell you that Stuart Sealcoating stands so far above any comparable service, that I have to give them a PERFECT score. We had a new asphalt driveway installed in early 2013. Keeping your driveway sealed, particularly the cracks is critical. It's the freeze/thaw that kills driveways. My neighbor has a beautiful home, but their driveway is shot because of the freeze/thaw deterioration. I've had other sealers work on my driveway. #1 They do not adequately or professionally fill cracks. #2 the driveway turns gray in just a few months #3 They do not use quality sealing material #4 they got sealer all over my bluestone sidewalk and side steps #5 they slap it on in a few minutes and are gone #6 they never follow up Stuart Sealcoating are true craftsmen, and they are very knowledgeable and detail oriented. Ed and his team are not some kind of summer-time part-time labor, these guys are professionals. They take their time, they prep the driveway, they fill cracks, they put on the highest quality coating. The driveway stays black for several seasons. You can see the water repelling off of the driveway in rain, and in the winter the snow seems to melt and runoff faster. Lastly, every time Stuart Sealcoating is in our neighborhood, they stop and look at my driveway. On some occasions I've seen they've stopped and done "touch ups" on small cracks - AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. That is a team who are proud of what they do. Too bad those kinds of pros are the exception not the norm anymore, but Stuart Sealcoating is "old school" and care about their work and their customers. They may be 10-20% more on price, but we're talking about $50-$75 on a big driveway. The work is literally 2x better than anything else. You will save money using Stuart Sealcoating.

AR George's Paving LLC
Very prompt and thorough job. They came exactly at the scheduled time. Very pleased with how great the driveway looks and how it held up after a rough winter. Not surprised, though, as that is the level of quality and service the owner promised when we had the driveway resurfaced by him over a year ago. Very glad it is professionally sealed with a sprayed on asphalt sealer. I won't go back to a brushed on product from a home store.

Mt. Stuart owns his own business and runs it impeccably. Professional, friendly, honest, high quality -- this company is the ONLY one we will ever use for our driveway from now on!!! I just wish we'd found him eight years ago!!! We're recommending him to everyone in Salem Farms!!

AAll County Paving LLC
All County Paving was very responsive to my phone calls.  Scheduled the work right away.  When Kitty came out, my driveway was cleaned and edged before being sealed.  They explained that I would see some darker spots where the few oil stains were in the driveway, but that over time they would blend in.  That seemed reasonable to me at the time and proved to be true.  I am very happy with the work they did and the price.  I like knowing I had my driveway sealed by a company that is licensed, bonded, an insured and has more than 30 years of experience.  All this at a lower price than a few of my neighbors paid to some guy driving around in pick up truck offering a "deal."  Our driveway looks beautiful and I know who to call when it needs to be sealed next time.

BResurface Inc
We received a flier in the mail from Re-Surface, Inc. for a $69 driveway sealing (competitively priced for this area) and since they were a local outfit, we decided we'd give them a try.  Overall, we are pleased with the value and with the professionalism of its employees.  When we scheduled sealing, we had requested an estimator come out ahead of time to take a look at the condition of our driveway, particularly some problem spots we didn't think sealcoating would fix.  We never heard from them in that regard, so that was disappointing. Prior to applying the sealer, we asked the employee what he thought about the problem areas and he said they should be fine.  Time will tell as far as how well the work holds up, but we were happy with the job they did and that they took extra care not to get asphalt all over our grass/concrete work. Pending how the sealer holds up, we'd hire them again.

ARockOn Paving & Sealcoating
Brandon, owner of RockOn, did a great job on our driveway. Our driveway was in a bad state of repair and Brandon made it look very nice. He patched numerous cracks and filled two large potholes and then sealed the entire driveway. He showed up on time, gave us a reasonable estimate, and did an excellent job. He also did work on four other driveways in our neighborhood and everyone seemed very satisfied with his work. I recommend him highly.

AJim Stanley Asphalt
I reached Mike Stanley on his cell and he came out to give the estimate that evening. Work was done two days later. Very professional and no problems. Price was considerably more than the "bargain" sealcoater but he was able to do the work sooner, which was important to us. This was the first time the driveway had been sealed since it was installed more than a year ago. The driveway looks like new and the job was done very neatly.

They kept on delaying things and they were a little bit hard to contact. They got it done eventually and they seemed to have done a good job. Price was competitive. We talked about three different sealing companies.

ACollegiate Sealers & Paving
So far, perfect. The B for responsiveness is only because another vendor promosed and provided a quicker estimate but Collegiate Sealers delivered its as promised, within 5-7 business days. Their estimator was professional and easy to deal with, and submitted the low bid. They were ready to do the job even sooner than I wanted, then showed up exactly as agreed, did the prep and sealing carefully, thoroughly and quickly. I was worried about neatness where the asphalt meets a flagstone walkway and the garage concrete, but the work -- hand applied, not sprayed -- was as clean and careful. The crew was polite and able to handle my questions and concerns in English. This company deserves its high Angie's List rating, which was why I requested a bid in the first place.

AD and H Paving
Clear up-front communication what they would do. Excellent work preparation: border weeding, thoroughly blowing debris off all surfaces to be treated. Sealing all cracks very carefully and then applying oil based sealcoating generously over the blacktop. Finally, nicely cordoning off the entrance area to avoid car driving over the uncured coat accidentally. They (led by Sean Carroll) really understand what they are doing and are performing in a very professional and pleasant way! I highly recommend them!

This is the third time we have used Collegiate Sealers & Paving. We have always been very pleased with the results. The seal coat  was applied very uniformly, with no bare or thin spots. Our driveway looks great. Note that our final price reflects an early season discount of 10% (which we really appreciated!).

FTriple A Paving & Sealcoating
My neighbor was away when my seal coating was done by another company. I decided to give her the seal coating as a gift. In accordance with the instructions, I provided three available dates; all in September. The provider chose September 27th. There were two more dates, the last one on October 19th; which came about as a result of The Big Deal Department phoning the provider. The provider was just a no-show for all of the dates and didn't bother to follow up. Both my neighbor and I have phoned the company several times. For the first two dates, the provider said they were out of product and backlogged. When I phoned today, I didn't ask for an explanation, I "threw in the towel". It's late in the season, time consuming and exasperating.

CTriple A Paving & Sealcoating
On September 17,2013, I purchased a big deal to seal coat my driveway. Matt from Triple A Paving and Sealcoating called me for my address and said he would call me back in a few days. I had not heard from him so, on November 4th, I called Angie's List for help. Matt called me and measured my driveway he said, it was bigger then the deal size so, he wanted to charge me $200.00 extra. I said, I don't want the work done for extra money. He said my driveway really didn't need the sealcoating and I should get a refund.

Recent Review: They did a great job for us. This was the first time we had had our driveway sealed and I didn't realize (it was in the details on the offer) that there would be an additional charge for first time seals. They worked with us on the price and we were pleased. They taped areas that the sealant shouldn't reach and edged along the driveway in order to get a good seal. We will definitely us their services again.

An asphalt driveway is a flexible and cost-effective option - sealing it further adds to its durability and appearance. It prevents cracks, disintegration, and water damage.

Understanding the driveway sealing cost will make it easier to plan for proper maintenance.

Importance of driveway sealing

Longevity

Driveway sealing increases the longevity of your investment. Asphalt typically contains a mix of stone, sand, and other items. This mixture tends to disintegrate and cause cracks to appear on the driveway. In addition, UV rays from the sun may also cause asphalt to deteriorate. Adding a sealant slows down such damage and adds many years to your driveway’s lifespan.

Aesthetic appeal

It improves the appearance of your driveway. It makes the surface appear clean and polished, boosting curb appeal.

Preventing water damage

Water can also penetrate asphalt layers and result in damage to driveway surfaces. Adding a sealant makes the driveway waterproof - never worry about damage after heavy rains.

Driveway sealing cost

Driveway sealing is quite affordable when compared to its benefits. Expect to spend between $10-$16 per 100 square feet. Therefore, a driveway of about 1000 square feet will cost $100-$160 to seal. It is recommended to have your driveway sealed at least every 3-10 years.

The driveway sealing cost will depend on how large your driveway is, the type of sealant used, and the contractor carrying out the job. Using quality sealers (such as acrylic polymers) will protect your driveway for two to four years before it requires re-sealing.

Contractors may also charge a fixed cost for every 100 square feet (for example, $100 per 1000 sq. ft). This means that larger driveways may not cost considerably more to seal than smaller ones.

You can also save on sealing costs by preparing your driveway in advance. Remove unnecessary items and clean up dirt and stains.
