Michelle Jackson, Dog Trainer
Recent Review: Our dog has come a long way thanks to Michele's initial help. I'm quite certain I would not have kept him had I not hired her to help me when he was just 12 weeks old. She was able to help me better assess his temperament and personality (he was a handful and I was an experienced dog owner!). She then tailored the training and recommendations accordingly. He is now 10 months, and a very loved, well behaved member of the family! Thank you Michele. I highly recommend her!!

Recent Review: Our dog came home completely transformed into an attentive, disciplined, and obedient pet. His program is very comprehensive, effective, and his personal style and follow up with us, to show us all of the commands, including a post-program report card, instructions for continuation training, and how to ensure our dog maintains the level of training into the future is outstanding across the board.  We would highly recommend Andrew's program to every dog owner who needs that extra intensive training to bring their pet from insecure and reactive to every distraction to a calm and well behaved pet.

Recent Review: Our session with Brian was great! We have a one and a half year old Bluetick Coonhound who has a few behavioral issues we were looking for guidance with to help correct. Our primary concern was his anxiousness when we have people enter our home. Brian was highly praised by a member of the staff at our vet and came highly recommended. Before our session, Brian was quick to respond to my inquiry through their website and gave me a call the same day. He spent a long time on the phone with me to understand how our dog acts and importantly, how WE act, and what our concerns were and outlined a plan for the best way to approach working to correct the behaviors. He was extremely thorough and insightful and knows so much about dogs and the best way to handle them. The session itself was great and I feel like all members of our “pack” very much benefited from it and took away a lot of great points and tips to work on! Brian was very observant in pointing out a lot of things that we wouldn’t have thought of with regard to our relationship with our dog and really nailed down what our dog ultimately needs to be respectful and compliant.

Recent Review: Excellent! Daniel was very helpful & patient with both me and my dogs! I have two very large and overly friendly dogs.  It was a nightmare when someone came to visit me!  Daniel taught me how to gain my dogs attention and the "Place" command which put my "jumpy" dogs in a specific location when the doorbell rang & to stay until I released them. I couldn't be more pleased with the results & how easy it is to open my front door now! I am frequently complimented on "how well behaved my dogs are!"  I couldn't have done it without Daniel!

The Canine Training Center
Award 2017Super Service Award
Recent Review: Amazing Abilities The Canine Training Center (CTC), headed by Andrew Wildesen, is truly an amazing service! From beginning to end, Andrew's years of experience and dedication to 'painting the picture' for your dog is simply amazing! CTC, wisely, does not focus on just the dog... they focus on the entire family as participants in the successful training of the dog! So many times before we thought it was the dog's fault when misbehaving. Then we learned that it isn't just the dog that needs to be trained... it is the owner(s) as well! That is where CTC taught us to 'paint the picture' for the dog... be consistent and timely when training and boy did that make the world of difference! Upon entry into the In Kennel Training, our dog (Socks) was a bundle of excitement anytime anybody came to the door. She wanted to run up the landing and sniff, sniff, sniff, jump!! Some thought it cute, but my wife and I did not. With our new baby on the way, we new we had to get Socks under control! After the In Kennel Training, it was night and day! Socks was perfectly in line with our commands and is happier now that we (K9 & Humans) are on the same page, painting the same picture! Funny enough, it wasn't just the problems with people at the door that were resolved due to the training, Socks now heels, sits, and downs perfectly! I HIGHLY recommend The Canine Training Center!

Off-Leash K9 Training
Recent Review: Exceptional and worth every penny. Signed our dog up for the two week training program where she stayed with the trainer the entire time. Our issues had been resource guarding in the home (aggression towards visitors and high stress levels when walking if all immediate family members were present). Josh Avila (with the Josh Wilson franchise location) took excellent care of our girl and returned to us an almost new dog. Our dog still had the same personality and affection, but she was much more relaxed, responsive, and more easily controlled in what used to be stressful situations. Although expensive up front, this was worth every penny as we have a happier, healthier dog and a more relaxed home life when socializing. The lifetime guarantee for their work helps to underscore that this is the only training we needed and that we'll be able to maintain our current success into the future.

Great! Jonathan was terrific to work with. Dutch, my dog, was a good student of course but they were very patient and taught me what I needed to know to help Dutch understand the "limits" of his new yard. I would gladly work with them again and would highly recommend them.

Working with Anne was great. We had her for several sessions over the course of the summer to help train a high energy 3 year old dog. She gave us lots of great things to work with, she was also extremely flexible and responsive when scheduling our appointments.

Anne Davis and her co-trainers do an excellent job in providing classes for the CCI puppies.  The lessons are designed to help the puppies develop the skills they will need. The trainers are also very helpful in fielding questions from puppy raisers on how to work with their dogs outside of class.

I hired Jeff six months ago to help me with my puppy who was nipping, chewing everything and would not walk on a leash without pulling. With Jeff’s help and all positive only training we replaced his “bad behaviors” with good ones and he now walks beside me on a loose leash. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

I give my unreservedly highest recommendation possible for David and Sidewalk Dog Training. Having a strong bond with your dog is not a “nice to have;” it is essential for the happiness, well-being and health of both you and your dog. When we welcome a new furry family member into the home, it may not always be easy. With David’s support, I am fully confident that whatever problems you have, there is a way through. I know this because David helped us through a very challenging time. In the process of fostering two dogs, I was faced with significant aggression issues. Little did I know, David’s guidance showed me just how seriously I was exacerbating the situation. My actions weren’t expressing to my dog the confidence that he needed to truly become himself. And that is the beauty in what David provides: the tools, knowledge and confidence to be the leader your dog wants you to be, so they can be themselves, and live in a happy family unit in harmony. So, while I went into the training looking for ways to “control my dog,” David truly provided me the knowledge and understanding to control myself, and be the leader that my dog needs. I cannot thank him enough, nor recommend him enough.

ASideWalk Dog Training...
Every dog owner needs to hire Sidewalk Dog Training including experienced dog owners! After our two 14yr old furbabies passed away, we decided to attempt to fill some of the void by fostering. We've been around all types of dogs and our dogs were rescues from unfortunate circumstances so I felt confident about our abilities to be effective fosters. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We did not learn that our first foster pup was super aggressive until we brought in a second foster dog. The second dog is timid and gentle, and our first foster became very aggressive and territorial. His behaviors were challenging and became scary. He started getting aggressive toward us when we tried redirecting him from his negative behaviors. After he attacked and bit the new foster dog on the face and neck, we knew we had to get professional help. Thank goodness for Sidewalk Dog Training and David! David was reassuring from the start and approaches his work with an asset-based mindset. He is incredibly knowledgeable and loves what he does! David was patient and took the time to answer all of my millions of questions. He quickly identified our dog's needs and what is causing him to be aggressive and anxious. We learned how our body language was miscommunicating expectations which exacerbated our dog's behavior. He demonstrated skills and had us practice them. Everything was broken down thoughtfully with the reasoning behind the action. David provides resources including his book, visuals, and breed specific activities and tools, as well as regular check-ins and communication with additional resources. I could go on and on about our experience...!!! THE RESULTS: Truly miraculous! You would've never known our foster dog was aggressive. He is super loving and affectionate. He plays and goes on walks with his foster brother, and they can ride in the car together for regular outdoor adventures and road trips. He no longer views his foster brother as a threat. Consistently utilizing the skills we learned from David has eliminated any signs of previous behaviors. If any negative behaviors start creeping back in, we are able to reflect and identify our behavior and inconsistencies that may be triggering it so that we can quickly address it. Also, David is always willing to provide additional support as needed! A massive weight has been lifted from our shoulders! It feels empowering to be able to support our foster dogs and ensure they feel secure and loved... So much so that we made the decision that this will be their furever home! As someone who did extensive research and had multiple conversations with dog trainers in the area, I can confidently tell you that David is who you need to hire. Don't hesitate because it will drastically improve the quality of you and your furbabies life just like it did ours!
