ABioTech Pest Management
David came in for the first inspection he was very informed about the roaches he let me know that they were german roaches and not just any ordinary kind he said that german roaches are one of the hardest ones to deal with because they can survive with water alone and that they can hide almost anywhere. He gave me the price which i wasnt excited about but i needed the problem to go away so i paid. The same week i had the pleasure of meeting AJ he was on time and knew exactly what was going on and how to go about treating it took 2 visits but after those two the roaches were down to a bare minimum and after the third visit they were completely gone i thank biotech for their business and will use them again in the future!

Cliff came out twice and got rid of the roach problem for me.  This is the third time I've used Cliff.  Always detail oriented and can't complain about the results. Highly recommend Cliff.

We have the Residential Home Services Platinum and we just renewed the annual package. Dean Smith, our technician, is responsive and kind to work with. Gail Clark, the residential account manager, and others we have talked on the phone with are always courteous and efficient in coordinating our appointments. We still see droppings and an occasional roach caught by the glue traps but for the most part the issue is much more under control than before.

The kitchen was infested with cockroaches which the exterminator quickly and efficiently bailed. Since then we have found masses of dead roaches so it worked, and we have a 30-day guarantee. Another person from the same company came to give us an estimate for termites, but the cost was so outrageous (over $1000) that I just laughed.

I had a cockroach infestation, mostly in my kitchen. I called ProTech. They were responsive and polite. A technician came to the house within a day or two and gave me an estimate ($189 for an initial treatment and 7 followup treatments for $70 each). The initial treatment seems to be working. I have seen only a few roaches since the treatment. The technicians were very professional and knowledgeable and explained how the treatment will work.

They are awesome!  My mom lives in a duplex style house and she started getting cockroaches a few months back, which is disgusting to say the least.  I went on to Angie's List and saw that these folks had a lot of good reviews, so I took a chance and was not disappointed.  I used the coupon for $30.00 off, so it was $195.  Our guy showed up early and was not scared of our roaches :)  He was a nice guy.  We have since scheduled two follow-up visits and are very pleased.  Once we are under control, we will continue with a quarterly treatment.

I was given a date and a 2-hour window for the exterminator to arrive and was told that I'd be called 30 minutes before. I waited 30 minutes after the window closed and called and was told that they would have to get in touch with the exterminator. Some time later he appears at my door with no phone call, but fine, he was there. Except he immediately says he has to move his car b/c he's not parked legally. I tell him that there is a space behind my building and give him directions to get there. After an insanely long time for someone to find a parking place, I called the exterminator and he was on the road going to his next appointment. No phone call to alert me that he wasn't coming back and no explanation for why he didn't park in the absolutely free and empty spot behind my building. I called the company and the operator laughed knowingly and said that exterminator was like that. Why he has a job there or was assigned to me was never explained. They rescheduled me for later in the week which already sucked. A different technician came on the rescheduled date and did his thing (he didn't call beforehand and arrived right at the end of the window, but again, fine he's here). I was first told that I should wait a week and after a week with plenty of roaches still running around told to wait an extra week. B/c of the holiday I ended up waiting 3 weeks, and still there are plenty of roaches and no sign of them being under control. So I called the company again and they were planning to make me wait another week before someone came out and they were going to charge me full price for a job that they clearly hadn't done right the first time. But the kicker was they had no record that they had originally sent a completely incompetent and unprofessional exterminator the first time. It's bad enough that that happened but with no apologies and then erasing it from their records, that shows to me that they don't care at all about their customers.

I basically fear calling for an exterminator because I basically worry that they will do the job effectivelly and safely. We also have a beagle and two birds and I feared that they may be harmed by chemicals. But I saw we had a serious infestation problem that had to be dealt with at once. Their rep. named Emmanuel was very prompt and efficient at showing the problem and how we were to treat it. He laid out some traps for the roaches which would not put the beagle in danger and later laid a solution to in cracks etc.---roach population declined severely and happy to say, that problem is under control. As for the termite treatment, I had to gain knowledge that the treatment could not be laid down if rain was predicted that day (needs 24 hrs to be effective) June was not a good month for dry weather and scheduling was at times difficult. Finally had one dry day, Emmanuel laid the treatment down outside, gave safety advice to keep the dog out of danger (keep the dog away from the side of the house for about 24 hrs) and it looked like everything worked out--bugs gone and our dog is safe. Very pleasant to deal with, would hire again.

CHome Paramount
Ants taken care of no problem, spiders still an issue but better. They are pretty ineffective against the huge cockroaches that wander in through our fireplace and basically make no apologies for it, as though dealing with the roaches is our problem... Nevermind we pay them expressly for this. They are always willing to inspect to try to up sell you though.

FOrkin - Forestville
This group branch or Orkin is by far the WORST pest control service we have ever had. The service was lousy and they refuse to return any calls or honor their 100% guarantee. A complete waste of money. I've had good experiences with Orkin in the past when I lived in other states, but this local group in the DC area is horrible. We had a service visit at the beginning of Sept 2016 because of an issue with cockroaches. They only treated a few areas in the house. The paperwork left by the technician indicated that we may experience an uptick in roaches in the first 7 days but to call if we still see them after then. This was their 100% guarantee. We did see the uptick and still saw reaches over the next several weeks. My wife called the number they left on three separate occasions and left voice mails every single time. No one ever called. Finally I tried from work and finally got through. Spoke with Douglas. He apologized and promised to call my wife (she stays at home with the baby) and schedule a time to come back to the home. They called once and left a message. For the next week, my wife returned their call several time, leaving messages. Again - never received a call back. She then left another message with the exact day they should come and to call us if that wasn't going to work. They never called and never showed. This group is the worst. I would say to anyone thinking about callIng them TO STAY FAR AWAY.

The woman who answers the phone is fantastic - we called in a panic because we'd just seen a cockroach in our bathroom and were very worried about 1. having a cockroach in our house and 2. finding a way to get rid of the cockroaches that wouldn't harm our three month old baby. She was very reassuring, let us know exactly what to expect, and scheduled an appointment the same week (they could have come earlier, but it took us a couple of days to get our kitchen completely emptied - that's a total pain to do but we figured if we didn't want to have to do this more than once so we should do it correctly and get everything out of all the drawers and cabinets). The two guys who showed up to do the extermination were very friendly and respectful, talked through our concerns about our baby and our cats with us, explained all of the pesticides they were going to use and how they worked, and were generally very pleasant. They showed up on time, worked quickly, and developed a plan that avoided spraying anything in the baby's room or the room with his playmat). They also inspected our house as they went along and were able to tell us what other insects we did and didn't have (fortunately for us no termites or carpenter ants, but lots of crickets and the omnipresent stinkbugs) and gave us some advice about prevention. They did warn us that if we had a lot of roaches we might see them start to crawl out of the walls as the insecticide took effect - I am very happy to report that this did not happen (I consider it an excellent motivation to call an exterminator the very first time you see one). It is now a month later and we have not seen a roach since the day they treated for them, nor have we seen any live crickets or other insects (other than stinkbugs, which they warned us would come back pretty quickly since they were not the target of this treatment). We were very happy with Montgomery Pest and plan to consult with them in the future.

The roaches started dying within twenty-four hours and after four or five days I never saw another live one.  And they have not reappeared to this day, four months later. No sprays were used.  It was a happy ending to an unpleasant situation.

Worked like a charm. We're still finding an occasional dead roach but it is clear the treatment worked well. Mr Freeeman was prompt and very thorough. He was accompanied by his grandson and the two of them worked very hard to get to any possible point of entry or hiding.

Biotech did a great job for our home. We found some cockroaches in our kitchen few months ago. We tried several products we bought from Amazon to kill these annoying bugs, but they didn't work. They kept coming into our home. So we called Biotech to help us. They offered a free inspection first and gave us a reasonable quote. David came and did a great job. Now we can't find any cockroach in our home.

they did an excellent job on getting rid of the mice. However, with cockroaches they did the bare minimum, although they came several times, none of the treatments were effective. They didn't do the full analysis of where the cockroaches came from, and how extensive the problem was.

Our tech Augustine Takyi visited our home four times to fully exterminate the bugs. 1. He examined the kitchen and dining room to determine how bad the infestation was. We had not cleaned out our cabinets, so he was limited in what spraying he could do. Nevertheless, it was highly effective, and a massive die-off occurred. 2. Second visit: major spraying (though not too bad smelling) plus he sealed up so many spaces where the bugs could hide, including stuffing mesh in some tiny gaps between the cabinets. More dying, but less so. 3. Third visit: we saw two bugs before this one. A little more spraying. 4. Final visit: all clear. No more roaches at all! He only found a few "normal" bugs in the basement, like spiders and a centipede. Augustine was on time for every appointment. He was very professional, communicated his concerns, and gave us clear instructions on what he needed us to do (when to empty the cabinets, when we could re-fill them, etc). And best of all, our home is bug-free again!

There were a ton of roaches in the house that we rented to new tenants. He came as many times as needed for the first quarter until the roaches were gone. I did have a problem with the billing, but everyone was great.

We first met Mohamed when he worked for another company. Unfortunately, rats are endemic in Old Town Alexandria, especially in old houses like ours with dirt crawl spaces. We hired several different companies to solve our rodent problem and they all failed until Mohamed came along. He is unquestionably the best. He’s not afraid to put on a crawl suit, get into the crawl space and determine where and what the problem is. He guided us to block access to the critters, and that helped, but he also was the only one to determine how they were getting in to the crawl space. He has set up a regular program of monitoring and eradication. Besides being unquestionably the best rodent control guy we have encountered, he’s also excellent in regular bug control, e.g. flies, cockroaches etc. He does what’s necessary without putting on too much chemicals and never recommends unnecessary treatments. Some of these guys just spray chemicals everywhere and hope for the best. Mohamed determines exactly what and where the problem is and then treats it. He’s also totally responsible and professional. He comes when promised and is extremely trustworthy. The entrance to our crawl space is through a closet, so he has to take all the clothes off the rod to get into the area to treat it. He does so and puts it all back so that we would not even know he was there. He’s also very nice and has a great work ethic and attitude. We are thrilled that he started his own company, Alpha Pest Management. We could not recommend Alpha and Mohamed more highly.
