His service was fantastic. He took calls on the weekends. He let us look at his CAD drawings before he had the final design finished. He has followed up with us even after we paid him. I would absolutely recommend him to others.

AConstruction Solutions
The company contacted me immediately to establish a mutually convenient time to meet.  We agreed to a meeting time that was about a month after initial contact.  The designer assigned to me was punctual and professional.  He developed a preliminary kitchen floor plan that showed creativity and knowledge of his profession.  He was very thorough in his measurements and took his time to understand what my wife and I wanted from our new kitchen.  At the end of his visit he went over his initial concept with us in order to provide an opportunity for feedback.  He then told us we would receive the floor plans via email within a couple of weeks.  (Note: He was willing to provide the floor plans sooner if desired, but we were ok with two weeks.)  The floor plans arrived sooner than promised.  The plans were generated to scale on a CAD system and included both original and new kitchen layouts.  Cabinets, appliances, doors, lights, walls, windows, were all included.  All in all, we were extremely pleased with the amount and quality of service we got for the money.

Outstanding,........Randy and Terrel were extremely attentive to every detail of the project. I competed 5 different contractors for the job and Terrel was the only one to actually show me CAD displays of the project. When it came down to choosing between the final two contractors, he pushed me over the edge by convincing me that I would be extatic with the results. The price helped too as it was very competitive. He showed an extensive breadth of knowledge in design and had very good ideas on what would look best. They were a little delayed in starting because of hurricane Sandy but when they started work the construction crew was extremely polite, skilled and attentive to how the job site looked every night when they left the site. The thing that stood out the most is their attention to detail. Even the smallest job was done right, or redone until they were satisfied. Randy came several times and one time convinced me to vary from the original plan to put solid walls instead of lattice. He was right and it looks amazing. One of the critical features I wanted was no "rafter ties"',,,,,,,,,I wanted an open vaulted ceiling space. This was a problem with the structure being as big as it was. Randy and his team came up with a solution of an engineered main beam that allowed . I was extremely pleased. Next they brought in a sub-contractor who replaced the entire roof. It looks amazing. We have gotten more compliments than I can count. Their team was courteous and they knew it was a big commitment. We are extremely happy with a screen porch we have dreamed of since we bought the house. My hat is of to Randy and his team. I will post pictures soon.

FCLINT GOOD ARCHITECTS
It didn't go well. Sent Clint a list of all the things we wanted him to incorporate into our drawing as someone else had already designed the screened in porch (4 season room), such as curved stairs, bar top, small deck for grill. The only thing we needed help with was where to place the stairs and how to curve them. We sent drawings and internet photos on curved stair ideas. Instead the stairs in the final drawing looked almost identical to the original drawing that the first contractor drew (i.e. straight/then flared not curved). He drew them again (curved as requested) but landed them in an existing flower bed which we didn't want to have to incur an additional cost to redo the hardscaping/landscaping to accommodate the landing (the landing only needed to be extended by a few feet (if that)). His drawing was also missing the door that leads inside the house, and he missed several other details that were requested multiple times via written emails. His contract is very vague about how many revisions he will do and what constitutes a revision. His ideas, which weren't what we asked for (i.e. straight stairs, flared stairs, deck cutouts, etc) , used up our 2 revisions and we were left with a design that we didn't like. He wanted to charge us an additional amount of money to make the simple changes we requested (for example, include the existing door that goes from the porch into the morning room). These are all CAD drawings nothing drawn by hand. We now have to provide the contractors with penciled markings on top of the drawings to depict what we had asked for. Very dissatisfied and wouldn't recommend him.

AMC DESIGN BUILD LLC
The process went well from start to finish and it was a pleasure working with the firm. They have good design sense, attention to detail and a are conscious of budgets. They really care about your project and making it happen. We would definitely recommend them to others looking to remodel. The process is trying enough (cost of construction is very high and regulations are a minefield) for us with a full time design professional in the household. It has to be extremely daunting to this unfamiliar with design and building. MC design can add comfort in the process.

CCapital Area Remodeling
We paid "$250 for Custom Home Remodel or Addition CAD Design Plus a $3,500 Credit". Our budget was tight so we requested a detailed estimate expecting to get a list of the costs of the changes we wanted made. Which we planned, would pair down to fit our budget about $20,000. We're expecting twins and need the space. If we had to, we would need to move and the renovations would go a long way to make our house more appealing, or more livable if we stay.  At our appointment on November 28th 2014 we walked them through our basement. Not fully understanding the process, I guess we made some mistakes in our communication, as we learned when we received our first estimate. We showed them every issue we had with the basement, which is where I think we went wrong. We wanted to see what they could do for us to make the mostly unfinished basement more livable, and we had some ideas. We also had old architectural plans of our house we gave them to help in their estimate, but told them they were not what we needed, they were just to help in the measurements for the estimate. We expected that we would receive a break down of the cost per changes and we would select the changes we could afford. We did communicate our expectations to them at the time of the walk through.  The first estimate we received (December 15th 2014) from them was for $80,384.10 dollars to renovate our basement in 6 weeks. The costs were not specifically itemized. Man hours, lumber, drywall, insulation, nothing.  Taken a little aback we asked them just for our bathroom to be remodel and to remove a wall. The result was another emailed estimate that was $45,060.00 with no break down of costs per change, and would take them 6 weeks. If we wanted them to paint they would have to add $3,600.00 and another week to the project. A little frustrated with them I had to take a copy of our basement layout and edit the image of the plans to show them exactly what we exactly wanted. On January 15th 2015 we received a reasonable estimate for about $20,000 and the estimate did have a breakdown of all the work that would be done but no costs were associated with them and it excluded all finishes to the basement. In the end we ended up going with a different contractor that was under our budget, could work on our pre-babies timetable, and seemed to be more connected to us. Originally we felt like we had been charged $250 to let people walk through our house, and had felt taken advantage of. The process was harder and longer than it should have been. We never did receive the "CAD" drawings that were supposed to be included. They did return our architectural drawings after we asked for them. One thing, this may just be a personal opinion/quirk, that annoyed me; through the whole process, all but the last time they sent us an estimate it said "Good Faith Estimate". Is there such a thing as a "Bad Faith Estimate"? What did that even mean? Couldn't the estimates have been labeled "{name}_Estimate_{date}.pdf? It just felt weird, like they didn't trust us.
