Companies that have been notified of a member's complaint but failed to respond or follow through with a promise can land here. In fairness, they've been given the opportunity to respond to any complaints prior to their Penalty Box status but have not done so.
Companies or healthcare providers can make their way into the Penalty Box for a couple of reasons:
1. They didn't respond to our Complaint Resolution Process.
2. They agreed to resolve an issue with a member, but then failed to follow through.
A provider is placed in the Penalty Box in Angie's List Magazine for a maximum of three months unless substantively responds to the complaint before then. While a provider is in the Penalty Box, a notice is placed on the company's profile and the company is excluded from category and keyword searches. A Provider may remain in the Penalty Box on Angie's List's website longer than three months, when warranted.
