AThe Neighborhood Pharmacy Of Del RayThey are wonderful and they do a good job. They would deliver my medications to me. I moved but I still go there. I like the pharmacy the way they are. I trust them and when you in there you know all the latest medications. They even know a lot about Medicare and they are really helpful. I have not had any problems with the medications. They are always polite. I called about a medication and they did not have it but they told me where could get it.- Frances M.

ACVS Pharmacy
I am satisfied with CVS; they are fine. They are new and are very prompt. They were quick about filling my last prescription and there were no lines. I think it is because they are new and have not gotten a huge customer base yet. They are nice.

ATschiffely PharmacyI'm a long-time resident of D.C., and for too many years I put up with the nonsense--long waits, unstocked medicine, incomprehensible pharacists, rude service--at the large chain pharmacies here. One day, a friend recommended that I try Tschiffely instead.
I did, and I've remained a loyal customer ever since. While the prices might be slightly higher, here's what you get:
A pharmacist who will talk to you, patiently answer questions, deal with insurance companies when they're trying to duck coverage, and call doctors when a prescription refill needs authorization.
Store staff who are friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help.
Well-stocked and clean stores with an interesting array of products.
A delivery service that's reasonably priced.
Tschiffely is a small chain--I think no more than 3 stores in the city--that deserves all the business it can get. When you need medicine, try this place. The experience alone might make you feel better.

CExpress Scripts IncNot impressed. At first I thought it was extremely convenient to be able to manage this prescription online, they even have automatic prescription renewal. DO NOT EVER USE IT! My physician's office was contacted, the wrong prescription was refilled and then express scripts charged me for the medication. I had to call and fight HARD to have the amount taken off my account. Thankfully I work in healthcare and know my patient rights inside and out. If any prescription is altered in quantity, IT IS NO LONGER THE SAME PRESCRIPTION. Once I brought this to their attention, they were very accomodating. I worry about people out there that may not be as familar with these terms and details.I have had to call several times to assure the correct prescription was received, once this is confirmed I have had great success and the medication is mailed to me in a timely fashion w/o issues. You just have to be VERY careful with this company so you are not charged incorrectly.- Katie S.

ARodman*s DrugsI asked my doctor for a prescription for a specific cough medicine that I had last taken about four years before. It was not available at either Safeway or Giant. Rodman's, however, had it in stock and I was able to have the prescription filled in a few minutes while I waited. The pharmacist was knowledgeable and very pleasant.- Paul F.

BSAFEWAY STORESI have had very variable experiences with the pharmacy at Safeway. They have a phone number that allows you to request refills through an automated system, and the employees are very good about following up if there is a problem with insurance or prescription coverage. However, a few times I have arrived to pick up a 3 month supply of prescriptions and they had accidentally ordered only 1 month's supply. In general, I have found the staff to be nice and the supervising pharmacists to be competent and helpful in resolving problems. The lines for prescription pickups are rarely long, and if one or two people are waiting then it's usually better to shop for groceries and return to the pharmacy later.- Alison W.

ATschiffely PharmacyMy family has used Tschiffely's to reliably fill our prescriptions. They are always prompt and helpful. Both the Pharmacist and the store's staff are friendly and knowledgeable. If your prescription is on file, you can call in your prescription and you can call to see if it is ready. After a bit, everyone knows you and the atmosphere is friendly and seems personalized. Quite different from the impersonality of a store like CVS.- MARIAN T.

AExpress Scripts IncI go online and they fill my prescription. It's cheaper than a regular drug store. They seem fill the prescription right. It's done online, so I don't have to walk in anywhere. It's relatively easy to get refills. I just check what I need. Pricewise, it's pretty reasonable. It generally takes a couple days to get mailed to me. They'll remind me and send an email when my prescription is ready for a refill. It's cheaper than a drug store. If it's for a medication that I'm taking continually and not a one time deal, then it's worth getting on. There's forms online that the doctor needs to fill out. Then the doctor will just fax it in to them and set me up. The customer service has been fine and I haven't had any problem with it.- Thomas B.

AKaiser Permanente Health CareThey are real good. What impresses me the most about them is that everything is in the computer. If you want to make an appointment with your primary care doctor, you can look him up, you can see what the appointments are, and you can set up your own appointment. You don't have to call. All your records are online. If you go and get a blood test, that night you can go online and look at your results instead of sitting around and waiting for your doctor to call you with results. Every time you go in, they print out a sheet of paper for you that has everything on it instead of going in there and forgetting what you are talking about. They print it out or you can go back online and you can see everything. Everything is typed out. There is no hand written stuff. If you need a prescription while you are in the office, they will send it down and you go downstairs to the pharmacy and pick it up. It's really easy. Kaiser is a big operation. If they refer you to somebody, that person gets to look at what the other doctor said. You don't have to rely on yourself for telling them what the other doctor thinks. I think their system is great. There is never a mistake. The office environment is usually pretty good. Sometimes I have to wait. Usually it's not any worse than any other place you go. I haven't had any problems with the staff. Their bedside manner is good. Their communication is definitely excellent. I had some problem with my neck and that just doesn't seem to go away, but it's gone down a lot.- Denise Z.

AHarris TeeterThis is the most efficient and helpful pharmacy I have ever dealt with. If the customer desires, their computer system stores information about frequency and amount of refills needed and stocks medications for individuals accordingly. In addition, once you have brought or called in a prescription, you may ask for a call when it is ready, thereby saving time hanging around waiting for it. And when you come in to pick up your prescriptions, the pharmacists have them so well-organized they can find them immediately, rather than searching everywhere and asking repeatedly for your name and when you left the prescription. They never fail to ask if you have any questions, and can easily be reached by telephone. An absolute dream!- CAROLYN H.
