    Choice Home Warranty
The sales people promise the moon. But it's VERY difficult to get them on the phone and when you do, many things are not covered. This weekend, they sent a plumber, who arrived after 8pm, when they were closed so he couldn't get permission to handle the problem. After repeated calls, I could get no answer from Choice or from the plumber. The website says this case is CLOSED. Rip-off.

    Choice Home Warranty
Never even received the actual warranty contract via email as they promised. The generic contract on their website DID NOT match what was promised over the phone. When I called customer service to request to cancel with full refund (as promised in the first 30days) they REFUSED to do so.

    Choice Home Warranty
I have had several occasions to deal with Choice over the last year. First point is that the contractors who Choice retains as its go-to guys are not always the best of the bunch (in other words, you would never hire them yourselves). They do have a process by which you can retain your own contractors but you need pre-authorization from Choice before doing anything and they make it as painful of a process as possible. Second point is that if the contractor needs a new part to repair something (e.g., control panel for a washer), Choice will typically order the part itself and send it to the contractor which in one instance has taken more than 10 days b/c they sent the part to a wrong address (the contractor has yet to receive the part). The impact of this is that I and my family have been without central heat for the entire time, forcing us to sleep together in one room while waiting for this part to arrive. I have called Choice on numerous occasions but they give me the run-around and haven't figured out how to track shipments on parts and keep telling me to call the contractors re: status when the contractors are dependent upon Choice sending them the parts. A very frustrating process.

They sent out a contractor. What stands out to me is the convenience of being able to have a company that you call and them take care of the problem. That is what you need especially, you/I own several properties.

    First American Home Warranty
I pretty much the person that came out to work with me was very professional, they came, they were very punctual they sat down and gave me all options that was needed and what they suggested were to improve the issue I would say that particular claim went well and I did the feed back in on the service that I needed I really don't have any complaints with that particular one at all.

    First American Home Warranty
The turn around as far as getting the vendor to come out and do the service. Overall I find it's a good experience I feel that the amount that I pay for my service is within my economic standings so base on that, that's good, overall I haven't had any complaints but one so and I have been using them for now nine years.

    Home Warranty of America
Carl Hewelt is their customer service director and suffice it to say that calling a customer a liar and being disrespectful to someone who did nothing but try to work with his service reps all over a $700 claim is not only tremendously unprofessional, but I think shows you that companies, like fish, rot from the head down.
HWA Home Warranty of America in my opinion is a scam and should not be allowed to continue to do business by regulators. Of the  Home Warranties on the market, there are very few that are not run by criminals and the entire industry should be better regulated or put out of business.
Carl Hewelt is unprofessional, badly behaved and his behavior definitely crosses the line.
For any problems you may be having with HWA please feel free to contact Carl Hewelt rather than dealing with the incompetent customer service agents. Carl Hewelt is unprofessional, but at least he makes it clear that he considers his customers adversaries rather than people he is supposed to be working with to solve problems.
You have to be aggressive with this company in order to get anything resolved.

    HMS Home Warranty
horrible customer service.  each repair took 10-15 phone calls to complete.  contracted service providers they sent (and you're required to use) were horrible.  They did not complete the work to code and had to come back to fix their mistakes multiple times.  Hard to believe this warranty is ever worth the cost of the poor workmanship and service.  Many additional charges (i.e. a/c compressor covered but not refrigerant (+$100))

    Complete Appliance Protection Inc
The people on the phone are professional and answer quickly.  However, they don't have much power to take down complaints of referrals.  There needs to be more options of companies so if we are faced with bad customer service, we can have move on to another company that can get the job done.

I purchased their $60/month "Full House Plus".  My air conditioner broke due to a faulty coil.  They decided it was uneconomical to repair the unit.  Only choice is to replace it.  However, they only pay $350 for this, whereas the cost is over $2,000.  They are happy to collect their monthly fee, but if something actually breaks down, you are kind of on your own.  They should call themselves "Incomplete Protection" if they are honest about it!
