Very thorough. Initial visits require evaluaion "tests" done by a machine that measures stress and basic back and spine condition/alignment. A plan for treatments was conducted and you are briefed by one of the doctors to explain the process. Process can be lengthly depending on your problems, but also general and regular visits can maintain a healthy body condition. Kempsville Chiropractic has an overall health program providing chiropractic, therapy and massage all at one location. If you have back, neck or have general health problems, they may be able to help. The back and nerve systems of the body are all interconnected. If you have pain, the body is telling you something is wrong. Highly recommend this service. They do accept insurance and have staff who deal specifically with insurance and payment plans.

Dr. Ranzette was able to take xrays of my neck and back.  He identified the problem areas and explained the process with clarity.  I now see him on a monthly basis and look forward to it each and every time.  My headaches and lower back pain are close to non-existent and that's without any medication or surgery.  That's a win-win in my book.

    Schierer, Dr Gregory
I first met Dr. Schierer in 2012 at the finish line of a 5K race - "Move Your Mutt". I didn't have a dog at the time so the SPCA "rented" me one for the race. The dog stopped suddenly at the finish line and I tripped over him, causing my left calf to cramp. Doc had a tent there with a massage table and he helped resolve the issue with my calf. I've been a patient ever since. I was having constant ankle, knee and hip pain when I ran. He diagnosed me with a tilted hip, which cause my left leg to be slightly shorter. He uses a tool to measure the strength of each muscle group up and down my spine. It feels like a little electronic jackhammer. It feels good and there is no discomfort at all. It took just a few treatments to get my hip straightened out. He also evaluated my gait and the wear on my shoes and could tell that I was over-pronating. He took a computer model of my foot and now I have custom-fitted orthotics in my running shoes that result in no pain whatsoever when I run. What Dr. Schierer does is a thin line between your grandfather's chiropractic care and physical therapy. I pulled my hamstring in one race and I had another 5K the following week. Doc treated me with ice, heat, stimulation and kinetic tape two days before the race. I was well enough to get my best time of the year and win my age group!

I have been a chiropractic patient for quite a few years, so I now go about once a month for routine "tune-ups" if you will. I have seen quite a few chiropractors (in quite a few states) in my time and I can assure you that Dr. Ranzette is by FAR the best in the business! He takes the time to get to know YOU and taylors his adjustments to meet the patients needs and not what is the quickest to get you out the door to move on to the next patient. (I've seen a few of those myself)

When I arrived at his office everything was set for me, he iced my back, in the area of the spasms, put on the electronic pulse machine in that area and worked on that area stretching the torn muscle and took the pain from a 10 to a 3 in a matter of an hour. Thanks Doc, for all that you have done for me and for the rest of your patients.

Stephanie and Susan are FANTASTIC at getting things done in the front of the office. And Dr. Geheren is a whiz at getting my back feeling better despite my continued abuse of it and past history of injuries. He is my last in a long list of Chiros in Virginia Beach and I have finally found the right one. Unlike a few past experiences, he does not require me to do stretches, exercises, and a myriad of, for me at least, unhelpful but expensive and time wasting things in the office to keep me entertained/busy while I wait. His systems are on point, his advice and commentary are perfect based on my level of questions and need, and his "tableside" manner is awesome. My appointments are very quick (usually in and out in 20 minutes) and very effective. Because of that, I go at least once a month for continuing care even though I currently have very little pain. Atmosphere is relaxing and very clean. Great music while you wait. And you will feel like you have new friends after your first visit. No hard sell in anything such as massage therapy, supplements or pillows but they are there if he recommends and you want to discuss.

Your Appointment was verified and confirmed. The staff at the front desk are VERY welcoming.  There are 4 female and one male who do the massages.  I did not request any specific person.  They are very punctual and do take the entire hour - or as you desire - for the massage.  No rocks or fancy stuff - just straight Swedish type, deep tissue or not (your choice). Massage room was small but very quiet and calming. I would recommend them highly - but it is a busy place given all the care they provide.  If you have issues with your back - this is a full service provider. Have never seen a chiropractic practice with all three services in one location.  I plan to return for more than just a massage.

I used the Angie's Deal for my first visit which was a consult and x-rays as well as some other tests.  The Deal was an excellent savings given all the tests and priliminary infomration required for them to plan the follow-on treatment. It took about 2 hours to do everything on this initial visit, so plan accordingly.  The staff was very friendly and helpful, as well as the doctors.  I talked to three doctors during my visit. They get your general information and did a preliminary exam to get your history and general complaints (pain, stiffness, etc.) They take blood pressure and reflex tests for all your joints, as well as strength and balance tests. They are quite thorough and I was informed of everything they were doing and why.  The "deal" was for the initial consult and x-rays - but did not include the first "treatment".  The information is collected and the doctors discuss their plan for your follow-on treatment, which takes some time.  However, I was scheduled for my follow-up on the next day.   They were busy, but I noticed their "regular" patients were in and out  rather quickly.  Being my first visit, they spent more time with me.  The additional services provided is massage therapy which is a nice addition for chiropractic care and I plan to take advantage of this as well.  I found the visit pleasing and very educational as well as content with their attention to detail.  I look forward to my follow-on visits and plan to use their service for my continued well-being and health.

Scans are very east to do office was a little busy so I had a slightly longer wait for the Dr -> I have any seen him previously a couple times so not uncertain about how well he new my case. Front desk staff are always nice, prefer the sketching type massages over the sleep tissue that I had.

    Birckbichler, Dr. Scott
I've been to many chiropractors over the years. Dr. Scott is one of the best. He is laid back yet very thorough. I greatly appreciate the lack of pressure and scare tactics, unlike the last couple I had been to. He offers his suggestions, but no push for repeated appointments. He repeatedly checks in on your comfort and preferences, offering alternate choices. He's also quite amiable and easy to work with. And most importantly I am doing better than I had been in some time.
