    Gregg Zellers Remodel and Repair
Greg Zellers contracted to remodel my bathroom. The contract was for labor only. I had told him before he began that I had to travel for work one week in May. He wanted to park a trailer on my lawn for the time that he was at my home. He got angry when I told him no, and he ended up parking the trailer on the patio. He told me I had to arrange for a dumpster from the sanitation department, which I thought was odd. The first two weeks went ok, but he didnt get much finished. At the end of the first week, he got in a loud screaming and swearing match with his worker on my patio, and the worker quit. Before he started the job, he checked my fuse box. He told me that there was no room in the box for any more fuses, and he needed to add more for my jetted tub and heated floor. My uncle had put in another fuse box in my basement when I moved in, so he decided he could replace that with a bigger fuse box. During the second week when he was ready for the new fuse box, he said he couldnt do it and wanted me to call in my uncle to put in the fuse box for us. My uncle was retired and elderly when he put in the first fuse box and was much older now, so I told him no. Then he told me I had to call around and find an electrician to do the work if I wanted it completed. Finally, another guy he hired part time completed the electrical work. The jetted tub required an access panel for maintenance, so he cut the plaster in my spare bedroom to put one in. Then he told me that hed measured wrong, and it actually needed to go outside so now I have a white square in my spare bedroom instead of wallpaper. He kept telling me he was short of cash, and he couldnt pay his guys and needed money. I paid him 12.5% of his fee six weeks before he started, 12.5% on the day he started, 25% at the end of the first week, and 25% at the end of the second week. Id already paid him 75% of the contract for two weeks work, and all hed completed was removing the old tub and vanity and installing the jetted tub. The third week was the week where I would be out of town. He wanted me to let him come to my house and work by himself while I was out of town and got angry when I told him I wasnt comfortable with that. He got a small job on the Friday before he left that he would do in the week I was out of town. It was pouring rain on the Saturday before I left, and he wanted to get the trailer off my patio. He tore up my lawn when he pulled the trailer off the patio. I was expecting him back on the Monday after I returned from my trip, but he didnt show up and didnt bother calling to let me know. I figured he wasnt finished with the other job, but I since I had taken the week off work, it would have been nice if he let me know. He called the Sunday after the fourth week, and asked if Id be home so he could finish the job. I purchased most of the materials for remodel, jetted tub, vanity, tile, fixtures, etc. When he came back the fifth week, he said he needed $500 for materials. He was supposed to show me receipts for what he purchased, and I would pay him for the receipts. Even though he had no receipts, I gave him the $500. When he put in the heated floor, he told me I needed to purchase the thermostat. I told him I had no idea which one to get, and he told me to just ask the guy at Lowes, he would know. When I went to purchase the thermostat, the guy at Lowes said that he couldnt recommend one because he didnt know the size of the floor, the material used, etc. They got the heated floor and the tile installed the fifth week. On Monday (I work Tuesday through Friday), my boss called and said I needed to work the rest of the week because we had too many people out of the office. Greg said he would come to my house on Thursday and Friday nights to finish the grouting. He worked Thursday for a few hours. When he came on Friday, he noticed that my lawn care company had sprayed the lawn, and it couldnt get wet. Even though there were other places he could have run the hose, he got mad and left. The next Monday, he still hadnt shown up about twenty minutes after he usually came in, so I called him. He didnt answer, but he showed up about fifteen minutes later. He told me he should be able to finish on Monday, but Tuesday for sure. He wanted me to give him more money, but I told him I wasnt giving him any more until he completed the job. On Monday, he finished most of the grouting. On Tuesday, he installed the vanity, the shower curtain rods, and the light and plug-in plates. He told me that he cracked the tile where he put the shower curtains, and if they didnt hold, he would come back and use some other way to install them. He told me he could finish in about two hours on Wednesday. I was skeptical because he still had to caulk everything, install more hardware, touch up the paint where he grouted, install installation outside the house for the tub, put back the bathroom door, and install the toe stop for the vanity. He worked for about an hour, then called me into the bathroom. The part of the toilet handle that pulled up the flapper was too short. He told me that I probably couldnt find one at Home Depot, but I could go around to plumbing shops and see if I could find something. I told him I wasnt sure what to get and thats what I paid him for. He got angry, said that I bought the wrong handle, and that he was leaving. He made several trips back and forth to get his tools, etc., muttering under his breath louder each time, and it was starting to freak me out, so I finally locked the door when he left. After about fifteen minutes, he knocked on the door. I went to the door and talked to him through the door. He had the thermostat to the heated floor, and he told me hed give it back to me if I gave him a check for the balance of the contract and materials (he said I stilled owed him $300). I told him Id just buy a new one. I figured hed calm down and come back and finish the job, but the next week I got served papers that said he was suing me for theft of labor and materials for the balance of the contract, $900 for extra work he performed, $565 for materials, and court costs. He left before he finished the contract, tore up my lawn with his trailer and wore a path in my lawn around the patio, left a big square of white in the middle of the wallpaper in my spare bedroom, and sued me. His contract also stated that he had to texturize my walls (which were already textured under the wallpaper). He spilled paint and cement on my bathtub and paint on my kitchen floor and hall wall. When he left, I noticed the big wall that he painted didnt have texture. I noticed some dirt on the floor of my bedroom, and when I looked closer, found dried cement on the floor and the bottom of my dresser. He had no business in my bedroom, and it creeped me out.

    Gregg Zellers Remodel and Repair
I have asked Gregg many a time over several years to work on projects associated with my rental property. I live out of state so it is always a challenge to find good people to handle what needs done at my property and it's not always just simple stuff. Gregg has excelled at his knowledge and his rapport with me and he has my trust 100%. Greg and I are on the same page when it comes to what needs to be done and Gregg is a quality orientated individual that I am happy to be associated with.

    HEARTLAND HOME BUILDERS
Everything went very well.  We experienced an issue with the framing and they corrected the issue immediately and brought in another crew.   After the home was built any issues that came up, they were there to fix them.  No issues, however, I have not needed them since.

    HEARTLAND HOME BUILDERS
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE USED HEARTLAND CONSTRUCTION, AND I AM JUST AS PLEASED THIS TIME AS I WAS THE FIRST TIME.THE BATHROOM IS IN THE BASEMENT, AND THEY WERE CAREFUL ABOUT PROTECTING THE CARPET AND THE FURNITURE IN THE FAMILY ROOM THROUGH WHICH THEY HAD TO PASS TO REACH THE BATHROOM. THEY REMOVED THE WALL PAPER ,THE CEILING TILE, VANITY AND STALL SHOWER WHICH WERE ALL IN BAD SHAPE. THE NEW STALL SHOWER IS NOW USEABLE AND CLEAN WITH A HAND HELD SHOWER HEAD.
I PURCHASED THE VANITY, CABINET AND TWO LIGHT FIXTURES. I ALSO PAID TO TO HAVE THE CARPET REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH TILE FLOORING IN THE THE BATHROOM AND THE HALL LEADING TO THE ROOM. IT IS A REAL PLEASURE TO STEP INTO THIS ROOM NOW.

Grandpas Shop LLC / GS Construction / GS Paint
The service has gone horrible. He lack all communication all the way around. He did not draw up good plans. Things did not go as they were supposed to. Something that was supposed to take 6 weeks still has not been completed and it was started in July. He went ahead on design things without ever consulting with me. The process has been terrible. He has promised things and never followed through on them. I have not been able to get a hold of him for about 3 months. Luke has totally flaked on the project.

    HEARTLAND HOME BUILDERS
We wanted the work done at a specific time while we were on vacation. When we arrived home everything was completed and looked great. We had a walk through inspection to ensure our satisfaction and i added a couple of additional items and one minor correction. the work was performed immediately. Jim Woods stayed in constant contact and responded promptly. His crew was also very professional. I would recommend Heartland for anything from minor home repairs to building a new home.

    J L Everitt Construction Co
They're fantastic. My wife is happy so I'm happy. She picked out new cabinets and countertops and handled it all. The kitchen and bathroom are done. The garage is getting wrapped up as we speak. He's been great. His quotes have been exact. His professionalism has been good. My wife likes them and she hates all construction people. She just have been very happy with them. We haven't had any complaints with this guy.

    KRB Construction Inc.
KRB was very punctual with returning phone calls, arriving on time as promised and delivered all services per our agreement. The owner and employee I met were courteous, respectful, valued their reputation, answered all my questions thoroughly and treated my home and privacy professionally. I especially appreciated the follow up call after all the work was completed, and if I would have had concerns there was no doubt they would have responded quickly. We plan to remodel a bathroom next and they will be my first choice. The owner supplied me with 3 references, all of which were positive. The other 3 services I contacted paled in comparison, once they realized what a small job it was, but my opinion is, if they are like that on a small job, they don't deserve the bigger ones. KRB will treat you well.

The quote was a little bit high but still competitive. We found someone else to do it. I thought they were good guys. We just ended up going with like a handyman type guy, which is less work and cheaper than this guy. KRB was more full service.
