    Gregg Zellers Remodel and Repair
I would never recommend this person. I have a two page list that would keep a person in work for the next month. He came in and I started by showing him the electric fireplace that needed hung on the wall and he couldn't seem to grasp the concept of an electric fireplace, or hanging it on the wall, which is a home fashion trend (see photo of box, which keeps falling over and item will soon break if I can't get it installed). Then he told me I would need to install an outlet. The outlet was on the wall. I was pointing at it (see photo). He still couldn't understand hanging the fireplace on the wall. It is made to be hung on a wall. It is not a standing fireplace! Since he couldn't seem to grasp that I was basically asking him to hang a heavy picture for me, I decided to move on. I told him the most urgent project was replacing the front door. I've had two expert opinions and consulted with the local hardware store employees and was told it would be cheaper to replace both the screen and front door rather than to try fix them, discover the fix didn't work, then get caught in another winter with wind blasting through my house (I literally have to stuff cardboard around all four sides of the door to keep the wind out). I explained that I wanted/needed the front screen and door replaced for both practical and aesthetic reasons--the frame is old and falling apart, the paint is so thick in some areas it's in chunks, and both doors are in bad shape. He argued every point. I told him if he thought the door was so nice I could always have him rehang it on the garage where I spend a lot of time. He continued to argue, repeating about the insulation and the poor job someone did hanging the house. I bought it in March and have struggled to fix the previous owner's mistakes every day since. I don't need lectured on how someone else did a bad job, I want a new door! He spent half an hour lecturing me about how I didn't know what I was talking about and the people at the hardware store are "idiots" and insisted on having me step in and out of the house so he could show me how the door doesn't fit! I've taken pictures, consulted with others, discussed my options repeatedly and as I also explained to him--a family member gave me the money to replace both doors just to get it done before winter! It is urgent and paid for! He finally said, "Look, I've been doing this for 30 some years and if you think you..." I stopped listening to the "stupid female" lecture and left the room to get my list so we could move on to the next item. When I returned and he was still talking about how he knew more than I did. I want a new door. That's MY business, not his. Why would anyone argue with a paying customer who is standing in the doorway with a checkbook in her hand? I've been searching for a handyperson since March. I have everything in boxes, blocking my access to my house, waiting, and didn't even make it past the second item on my two page list with this man. He was being so argumentative that two neighbor boys who were riding by on their bikes stopped to ask who he was and what was going on. They couldn't figure out why he was acting that way toward me. After 45 minutes of listening to him ramble about things I've discussed with experts all summer long I told him I'd find someone else to install my front door. I also need screens on my windows (someone tried to break in when I was moving) and on both back doors. I have no air circulation in the house because I have no screens. I need help painting--there is so much work here for someone who wants to actually work and doesn't want to waste people's time, and I was not arguing about money or payment. I wasn't arguing at all. I simply told him "these are the things I need done." If I was a handyperson and someone asked me to replace their door, I would replace the door, I wouldn't argue about how nice the door is! Now I will spend yet another winter stuffing cardboard pieces around all four sides of my door to keep the wind out because everyone else I've called is booked until October. ! I had the money to pay him in my hand--I could have paid in advance! I have plenty of money for labor and everything I need for the jobs. I paid him nothing. I am no longer surprised that he had time available when everyone else was booked up!

    Gregg Zellers Remodel and Repair
I have asked Gregg many a time over several years to work on projects associated with my rental property. I live out of state so it is always a challenge to find good people to handle what needs done at my property and it's not always just simple stuff. Gregg has excelled at his knowledge and his rapport with me and he has my trust 100%. Greg and I are on the same page when it comes to what needs to be done and Gregg is a quality orientated individual that I am happy to be associated with.

Overall went well. The project did take longer than I had anticipated but Gregg did come in under budget. He made a couple recommendations for the stairs which I followed and it gave the deck a nice touch. Gregg communicated via phone, text, and in person, regarding the project and answered questions that I had. He provided me catalogs to generate ideas for the project. He did run into some unforeseen issues that hindered progress of the project namely his work truck went into the shop which delayed the project for several days. He did communicate about this delay. The drywall work inside my house included repairing a hole basement ceiling from a leak from the upstairs bathroom as well as finishing work on an upstairs bathroom where I removed a partial wall. He did excellent work with this and can't distinguish where the repairs were done. The overall B rating was simply due to the length of time it took for the work to be completed.

It went good. He did a good job. He showed up when he said he would. We did have one delay due to bad weather, so that didn't have anything to do with him. We had to take out 3 yards of dirt that was removed by wheelbarrow. He is efficient and knows what he is doing. I thought about the doing the work myself, I would probably be trying to get it level. He would check every 2 days to make sure it was all coming out level.

Grandpas Shop LLC / GS Construction / GS Paint

They were very prompt at coming out, providing an estimate, putting the contract together and scheduling the work.

The crew was professional and great to be around.  They worked around my dogs needing to be let out every few hours.

Deck was completed and looked great.  We got the pool out, set it up and started filling it.  About 2/3's through the filling process we were hearing some strange noise.  After trying to figure out where the noise was coming from we realized that boards on the deck were much lower than the rest..  I called them and they came out right away to look at it.  They indicated that the deck needed more supports due to the weight of the pool and arranged to come back the next day to put in more supports.

I knew this was the first time they had built a deck to hold this size of a pool.  How often is a pool deck a request in WY?  I was impressed with their response.  I also understand that sometimes something new may require some trail and error.

We drained the pool and they set to work.  They built in more supports to hold the weight.

We began filling the pool.  At a about the 3/4 full mark we noticed that the deck was no longer level and seemed to be collapsing again.  I called them again and they came right out.  This was at about 430 on a Friday.  They assured me that the wood would give some due to the weight but that this was expected and we weren't going to have a repeat of the previous issue.

Shortly after that the deck collapsed in a different area.  I called them and they came out right away again.  This time they said they would put in more supports without having to drain the pool but to call them when we took the pool down and they would come out and either lay more decking or create a concrete deck.

I am ecstatic at this point for a couple of reasons.  1. The pool season in WY is short.  Having to drain the pool, repair the deck and then fill and heat would have really cut into our pool time.  2.  I felt that I had finally found a good contractor in WY.  I had some work that I needed done in the bathrooms and I knew a great company to call when we were ready to do that.

We took the pool down Labor Day weekend.  I called them the following week to let them know the pool was down and ready for them.

When I called I was told that I needed to talk to Luke about it.  I asked that they have him call me.

    Winter arrived, no call.

I have called them several times since and left messages to have Luke call me.

    No callback.

Now I am in a situation that I have a very uneven deck and I am going to have to pay someone else to come out and either fix the deck or pour a concrete slab for the pool.  I will also still need to find a contractor for the bathroom work we need done.

I feel they are hoping  I will give up and go away.  Unfortunately I am in that position.

What started out as a fantastic experience, even though there were a few issues, turned into a very expensive project.

I am sad to say that I won't use them again and don't recommend that others do either.

They are always courteous and prompt. They completed all of my projects in a timely manor despite my changes and quirky nature. They went through and did all the things my realtor wanted for me to sell the house and it went under contract in 10 hours! The exceeded my expectations at every possible turn. Their speed and quality of their work is with out question the best in their field. I think of them as my warm and fuzzy security blanket. I could write all day about them but for those of you who came by to see the house and to my garage sale. I told every one who to call. Thanks Guys. I will never call any one else.

    Browns Home Improvements
Duane came highly recommended from my husbands boss, he came out and measured the area and had a bid back to us within two days. We also needed a 1000 lb boulder moved from the spot where the deck was going, which they moved with zero damage to the house or yard or sprinkler systems. Contract was signed and work started a week later, it took a total of 3 days for all work to be completed. Duane and his guys were very friendly and thorough, and walked us through every step of the process. Deck matches out existing deck perfectly and I am very pleased with the work done. We will use Brown's Home Improvements for all of our home construction needs in the future.

    TNT Home Improvements
The service was a fiasco from the very beginning. They did not pull the permits and he was not licensed in Wyoming. He came from Colorado and did not realize this work needed a license in Wyoming. Part of the reason it took so long was because he had to get this license. The workmanship was alright except that the roof to our porch leaked. We called them back out to fix the leak. They came out and the roof still leaks. The work was supposed to take 3 days took months. He was really hard to reach and the whole process was a disaster.

    Buffalo Country Contracting
Brandon came to my house As an Employee of a subcontractor of the contractor DBA Laramie Valley Contractors (LVA). I had signed a contract to have hail damage repaired from a hail storm that occurred in 2011.
LVA really did me wrong (another story for another time.) The subcontractor who Brandon worked for abandoned my project, which had been paid for with insurance $ & personal $. Brandon and his partner, Josh, actually came back & finished the project out of their own pocket & time because the subcontractor split with the $$ & had not paid his employees! Brandon & Josh finished my front porch knowing they would not get paid. They did a great job.
We rehired Brandon (Buffalo Country Contractors) later in the year to build a new composite deck in the Fall (hence the Oct date & price related to this review). at the same time I was burying overhead electrical lines, pouring concrete for a new hot tub & installing the tub. Delays on my part due to electric and concrete hijacked the deck project. Good communication on both parties made it all come together & Buffalo Country Contractors came through with an incredibly great deck accommodating our new hot tub!
The deck was built on 16" on center & constructed beautifully with predrilled pilot holes for the screws. VERY nice!
While he was here he installed a new back porch light for me... Just because I asked.
He is polite, a good communicator, & does what he says he will do.
Buffalo Country Contractors is licensed with the City of Cheyenne carries general liability business insurance.
    Highly recommended!!

Champion Windows and Home Exteriors of Ft. Collins
The guys that came up were pretty much on time, cleaned up after themselves and they went above and beyond what they were contracted to do! Some of my windows had blinds on them that I didnt' know how to hang back up, so they did this for me. They were so good, and very polite. Their pricing was in line with other companies that I got estimates for.
