  • I have used them several times. It was less than a $100.00 for this visit. I do not have a reference to compare them to. It is hard to judge price, as they do not know what they have to do until they get here and get into it. It seems like your ac breaks down on the hottest days. It depends on their workload as to time the can get to us. They usually let us know within and hour or two of time frame and then call about thirty minutes prior to arriving. They are then on time. I am very happy with them.

  • Able contracting was sent through our home warranty company. They replaced and repaired several outlets inside and outside of our house. One of the exterior outlets stopped working a couple of weeks later and they promptly came back to fix it. He was very professional and explained exactly what he had done.

  • Everything went very well. Tim is professional and explained every option that was available in my situation. I chose the delux package instead of the basic. Tim explained every item and I was able to make an informed decision. Dodrill also had a nice young man come out but he would not let me see the book with information about the different AC and furnace choices --said the book was out of date. I am extremely happy that I chose Kerstein and feel his prices were reasonable. Tim did need to come back to check on a minor problem. He sees to it that you are a very satisfied customer.

  • Air conditioner was going "put-put-put". Called B&G to check it out. (I had been very satisfied when I used them before for a different problem!) Service man said the bearings were wearing out and the motor would soon quit - which it did the next day! He had a replacement motor, but not the fan. The unit is so old that no dealers in the East had a replacement fan, and he had to order 1 from the manufacturer. To complicate matters, this was over the July 4 weekend. They made sure the part had been shipped, and got the tracking info. An appointment was scheduled for the day the part arrived. Within an hour, everything was installed and checked and I had cool air! I also want to comment on the office staff. Whenever  I would call to check on the status of the offer, they were always helpful and courteous. They never made me feel like a bothersome old lady. Hopefully I won't need B&G in the near future, but if I do, I won't hesitate to call them. I was entirely satisfied by their skill, professionalism, politeness, price, etc!

  • My air conditioner died during our recent heat wave. Air Specialty was able to squeeze me into their solidly booked schedule and were at my house within 36-hours of placing the call. The owner, Alan, and his 15-year-old son arrived on time and could not have been nicer. They were friendly and professional, just all-around and quot;good folk.and quot; They were respectful of me and my home and watchful of my little dog as they entered and exited through the house or the back yard fence. They immediately determined that the capacitor had died and had it replaced within 15 mins. Alan even pointed out to my husband that the coils needed cleaned and, while he offered to do it for an additional charge, was kind enough to show my husband how to clean it himself to save money. It was fun watching Alan interact with his son as he was teaching him the trade. Looked like the family business will be in good hands. I would not hesitate to call Alan back to my home to perform more services if needed. Highly recommend.
    I was matched with Air Specialty through my First American Homeowners Insurance so I only had to pay my deductible of $60 for the service call. Not sure what the cost would've been otherwise.

  • They have always been very prompt and the technician comes out and checks everything and tells me everything is ok and then he leaves. When I called about the compressor they were out within 48 hours. They are prompt and they clean up after themselves. They were very professional and I would use them again in the future.

  • I called ELCO because my furnace burners would only stay on for 20 seconds. It is an older furnance and I told the technician the gas company had left a note on my door a month earlier indicating there was a leak in the area. Instead of simply testing the gas pressure first (a task that takes less than 10 minutes) the technician spent four hours "cleaning" the burner assembly" and replacing a electonic switch which did not fix the problem. He also spent almost an hour driving to and from to get parts, and ELCO charged me for that time as well. Finally, after five hours and close to $600 in service and part charges, the guy finally plugged in the gas pressure gauge and realized that the gas supply from the gas company was not sufficient to keep the burners on. He left in a hurry and a month later I got the $600 bill. I called the owner to tell him I thought the charge was excessive and the technician should have figured out the problem in much less time. I asked for a small reduction in the charge and the owner refused to do anything to make it right. I will NEVER use them again and would encourage others to look elsewhere for HVAC repair services.
