  • Excellent. This was the second time Barry Barr did plumbing work at our home. Barry and his assistant (Trent) and the person who manages his appointments (Debby) are all outstanding. We had to turn off our water to the house for most of 6 days and Debby was especially good at moving the appointment time to match the overnight shipment of the new part. Barry came out the same day the part arrived from Utah and he installed it in 1.25 hours. No leaks, no fuss, just fine work!

  • The work done was excellent, and the crew that arrived were very nice and professional. I had a few ideas of how to approach the installation since it's a small space and they were able to make it work. They were very knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had.

  • This was my best plumbing experience ever and I've had plenty of plumbers in my 68 year! Barry, the owner and operator, assisted by Dusty, were outstanding. I could go on and on, but let me cut to the bottom line = Going forward, I will never hire anyone but Barry to do any and all plumbing work I may have...

  • It turned out great. Very professional. It was a little expensive. They came in prepared, took everything out, and everything was left immaculate as if they weren't even here. Sometimes you have to pay for good customer service, so I don't mind that. They seemed genuine up front. I basically told them what I thought the issue was with water on the floor by the tank, so they asked a few questions on the size of the tank and diagnosed what was going on and gave me everything up front. It was much better than the others who just wanted to come out here. It is always good to have an idea of what's going on and what it may cost before you high tail it out here. I like to know up front and they were very good at that. I appreciated that. I knew what was happening going in the door.

  • On 4/6/15 provider was contacted of clogged kitchen drains.  Service repair man did come out that day.  He was there about an hour and I was told the drains were clear and to put Draino in the drains for a few nights and flush the drains in the morning with hot water. The evening of 4/6/15 Draino was poured in the kitchen drains.  The next morning (4/7/15) hot water was turned on to flush the drains, however water backed up in both sinks.  I immediately called Comstock Plumbing and reported the problem had not been taken care of.  I was told someone would be sent out that day (4/7/15), there was a no show that day.  The morning of 4/8/15, I made another call and was told sorry about yesterday but someone would be there today (4/8/15). This time 2 service men came and worked on the clogged drain. Meanwhile a leak was found under the sink.  Both problems were fixed. I expected a bill for the leak, but not for the clogged drain.  On 4/6/15, a check was written for $205.85 and then received another bill 4/8/15 for  $253.47.  On 4/6/15 the total for parts were $11.20 and on 4/8/15 total for parts were $8.12, the other part of the bills were for fee for using a snake and service fee and labor.  I called Comstock Plumbing on 4/8/15 to explain I should not be expected to pay again for the clogged sinks because it was not taken care of on 4/6/15. I was informed there was no warranty on stoppages. I explained I understood that but it had never been fixed in the first place and I did call immediately the next morning to report the problem. The bill that was submitted to me on 4/8/15 the company subtracted $87 and I paid $166.47. So to get my mothers kitchen drain unclogged cost her $372.32, also includes fixing a leak and she is 89 years old and receives only Social Security so she is on a fixed income.

I am totally disgusted of the business practices of the company and they are not on my list of companies to call or provide a referral.

  • This review is for Donnie Wright (aka Panhandle Plumbing, but technically Panhandle Plumbing is closed and Donnie just solicits people who buy plumbing supplies from the Home Depot on Rt. 9 where he works).
My wife and father were shopping for plumbing supplies while I was out of the country for work.  We had an outside faucet break in the deep freeze we had back in January.  My wife was pregnant, and my father was only in town for the weekend so neither of them could really do the installation.  Donnie informed them that he was a licensed plumber and could do the installation.  According to my wife, he wasn't very responsive, or punctual but he was cheap and eventually installed the faucet.
Flash forward six months and our whole house filter is leaking and our sump pump goes out while my wife is in the hospital having our baby.  She suggests that I call Donnie because he knew where the house was and had already done work for us.  Against my better judgement, I called him.  After a missed appointment, he ultimately showed up and told me I needed a new sump pump (duh) and that he would need to order it (I had already bought a new whole house filter).
Two weeks later, he arrives to install the sump pump and whole house heater.  I was at work, and my wife was unable to walk down the basement stairs because she was recovering from a C-section.  Donnie did the work and when he turned the sump pump on, it caused the basement smoke alarm to go off.  Donnie's solution was to take the battery out of the smoke alarm.
After telling my wife he fixed the problem, she paid him and he left.  When I got home from work, I went down to inspect the work.  The whole house filter looked fine (easy job) but the sump pump wasn't up to code at all.  First off, the pump float was getting stuck on the side of the well due to how he installed it and this caused the pump to either be stuck off or stuck on.  The pump was stuck ON and was SMOKING.  Had I not gone down when I did, it likely would have caused a fire because he had removed the battery from the smoke alarm.  The pump was overheated, and he had just used a twist tie to attach the power cable to a pipe in one spot to keep it out of the water.  In addition, it was evident that the old piece of PVC pipe had a hole in it (there was water all over the place where it had sprayed out before the pump emptied the well) and Donnie hadn't bothered to install new PVC pipe.
I tried calling Donnie to rectify the problem on both his cell phone and his wife's cell phone (she had called us to reschedule for him once) and both phones were shut off.  I've tried for the past four days to no avail.  The landline phone number listed on his invoice is likewise disconnected.  I guess I'll have to go to the home depot where he works and get in touch with him through his manager there in the plumbing section.
If you want your plumbing job done right and on time, look elsewhere.

  • Everything went really well. They located the leak almost immediately and had it dug up and repaired in about 3 hours. They replaced the pipe coming out of the adapter in the well and about 2 feet of black plastic pipe in the ground.

  • Overall, the installation and professionalism in service has been great. Dale has come out 3 times to service and check my softener, especially after a 24 hr. black out period after I had called Comstock Plumbing. Each time, he came out within the same day.

  • After examination, they (AAP) found the root cause of the issue was within the toilet tank. They corrected the issue with new parts.
