We called them spoke with the vet on call Dr. Tracy. Readnour. She agreed to see Ginger in a few hours. Ginger at this point was very weak and had to be carried into the vet's office. We gave Dr. Readnour Ginger?s medical history and what current medications she was on. She offered to do a thoracocentesis to draw some fluid off Ginger's lungs to hopefully help her breathe better, she says she would start an IV and get her some fluid, and they should do some x-rays and blood work. Dr. Readhour was alone and the vet office that day. She told us to leave and she would take care of things. We offered to stay in help since we both have medical backgrounds with people. But she was insistent that we not stay and that she had help she could call if she needed it.

The vet called to give us an update after she had made her attempts to draw fluid off of Ginger's lungs .. The first one went well drawing  several CCs off  the other side did not go as well Ginger was not tolerating the procedures, so she stopped .  She wanted to let us know that she was now going to attempt to start an IV and give Ginger some fluids  and wanted to see how we wanted to proceeded because they call themselves an animal hospital  they do  not actually provide hospital care after six pm.  They  leave in the evening at 6 pm when they have sick pet in their facility  and return at 8 AM the next morning.  We told her we would come get Ginger  after she had had an hour or two of IV fluids. We were keeping in contact with our vets  in North Carolina  during all of this.

Dr. Readnour called us again to say when she tried to start the IV our dog had a neurological response. and became unresponsive .  She had come back around at this point we decided  she needed to be taken care of. someplace where she can be monitored 24-hours a day. In this area Virginia Tech is the facility for that. We asked Dr. Readnour to call Va. Tech to say we were bringing her. We headed. over to pick her up. With the plans of transporting  Ginger in our car to Va. Tech, but as we were pulling in the parking lot at Animal Care Center,. Dr. Readnour called to tell me, my Ginger had ? not made it?. We walked into the vet's office to find our precious dog. was laying on the floor, in her own feces. dead. Be for sure she got their payment of $371.80 as we carried our dead dog to our car.

Our hearts were broken  and we were in shock and devastated.  The next week,  I got the notes from the chart at Animal Care Center  regarding  the events of this day. My thoughts are  Dr. Readnour should not  have been  unsupervised  left  to take care for  sick  animals.  Dr. Brown  is responsible and also at fault  for this.  Dr. Readnour's notes  do not  reflect  the truthful events as  they occurred  that day. She was alone and never called for the help she said was available and she practically pushed us out the door when we offered to help.  By her account  she suggested  early on that  we take our dog  to Virginia Tech.  None of that is  true  and her account of what happened differs from what she told us. If she  were a competent  veterinarian  she would have known  that this dog's illness  was more then she  could handle, She would have started an IV before doing any procedure and would have told us that this was too much for her to handle. Instead she got us out of her way  and handled it alone.  We believe  wholeheartedly  that  Dr. Tracy Readnour  killed  our  sweet  dog. I cannot tell you how strongly I do not  recommend  Animal  Care Center of Princeton West Virginia  to anyone!

All breeds pet grooming has been grooming my dogs for over a year.  She is fair in price (28 per small dog) and really cares for your pets.  She works around your schedule and is quick to get your pets in.
