    Lindsay Lexus of Alexandria
Thai Tran emailed me when the 2018 RX's hit the showroom. He knew what options I was looking to add to the car. We set up a day for me to visit and he had what I was looking for ready to be test drove. Within two hours I had made my deal, completed the paperwork and, was on the road. I brought a friend along who observed the entire process. He told me he would definitely come to Lindsay Lexus if he ever decided to buy.

    Sudley Car Care Center
Great service, worked with Jason. He was very professional and arranged to pick up the car at a local dealership. The prepurchase inspection, performed the same day, found some $1,700 worth of repairs needed on the vehicle. Based on that report we ended up purchasing a different vehicle. We were very thankful we used Sudley and would recommend them without hesitation.

    Express Auto Service
Same day service which was great. However, one day they quoted my wife $88 for the service, next day I ordered the service and they charged $113. Since it was same day service I don't complain. Express gave the car a clean report, no issues spotted. Then we drove two hours to pick up the car and noticed immediately the tire warning light was on (all four tires were low) and there was a huge gash on the passenger rear view mirror that went unreported. Our confidence n the report plummeted having missed these simple items. We have no idea if they actually looked under the hood or not? I related this to their customer service, and silence... would not recommend to any friend of mine.

After seeing two bad reviews for this business, I was a bit leery. I am glad that I took the chance. Joe was professional, friendly, and helpful. His detailing guy did a great job cleaning our "new" hand-me-down minivan. It looks very good inside and outside - no small feat for a 1998 model with 178,000 miles.
I mentioned the two bad reviews to Joe and he was unaware of them. We even discussed the two incidents that were listed and he gave satisfactory answers (to me at least.)
Please check out Joe for any auto detailing or home carpet cleaning jobs, I think you will be pleased with his work, professionalism, and friendly attitude.

Upon arrival, Justin at the desk was cordial and professional.
I then attempted to explain my car's issues:
    - My Air Conditioner nob on the dash, in a certain position, would loudly click repeatedly until I moved the nob off that particular position. I asked Justin if he'd like me to show him, he refused. I explicitly described the nob position that lead to the clicking. I noticed he took no note of the position of the nob I clearly defined for him.
    - My A/C was leaking, somewhere, and needed that fixed.
Justin promptly dismissed the clicking as "part of the A/C issue; if we fix the A/C and freon the clicking won't happen". I didn't appreciate the point being dismissed.
    - My oil light would flicker on, only when the engine is hot, only when sitting in idle. I said I wanted a simple fix for this one, like a tweak on the idle. The car is 10 years old (low mileage) and we had twice gone for an oil change in the last 6 months to fix this, I didn't want to spend a ton of money on it.
Justin stared at me with a look I didn't like - condescending - like I was crazy. I said, "You're looking at me like I have three heads, and last I checked I don't have three heads and I'm not speaking Greek, so...?" He then launched into a diatribe - with a tone I didn't like - about how he couldn't change the idle without messing up the computer, how he wouldn't do that, and how it probably had something to do with the oil filter or the oil sensor...
That's all fine in concept, but he could have done this FAR more kindly, and without being rude and condescending to me.
I waved my hand in the air to stop his tone of arguing at me and said, "You guys are the professionals, I trust you will look at it and tell me what you find. Please call me with the estimate."
Justin promised he'd have someone call the next morning, when the lead tech would take a look at it.
By 1pm, no call. I called asking for an update. I got my update, the lead tech was almost finished and would call me back "shortly" with my estimate.
By 6:30pm, again, no call. I called again, and asked for an update. The frustrated man on the phone said I had called just after closing. I said, "Yes, but I was promised I'd be called with an update, and I was not. So I'm following up to get that information."
I got the update. The A/C had 2 leaky O-Rings which would be replaced. The charge of the rings, labor, recharging the freon and replacing the oil switch / sensor would cost around $490. I authorized up to $500, understanding that my originally-reported THREE issues would be resolved. I was told I'd be called the next morning for pickup.
As per usual, I got no call-back. I called around 1pm; I was told it would be finished in the afternoon.
I got a call around 4 and went to pick up my vehicle for a total of just over $501. I paid my $501, got my keys and went to look at my car.
As SOON as I put the key in the ignition - the clicking was loudly audible. I ran back into the shop. "We didn't hear any clicking, we checked." I said, "I just turned the ignition key - I even didn't touch the A/C." "Well we didn't hear it." (Honestly, I don't care about the past - it's clicking again - Right Now.) "Come Listen!" I said, frustrated. "Hold on, the lead tech is going now to see it."
I joined Jim at my car, who told me, "Oh, I hear it now. I didn't hear it before." I said, "I gave explicit instruction about the dial position and asked you guys to check it out. This is a consistent issue. I wish you had noted the dial positions as I asked." Jim deflected, which was fine, and said, "It's probably an actuator. I will need to see if we can even get that part. Then we'll have to take the dashboard apart to find and fix it."
"Wait a minute," I said, "How will that work? I just paid $500 under the understanding THREE ISSUES would be fixed. Is that going to cost me more money now?"
"Well it's a Different issue," Jim replied.
I get it. New part, new labor - new estimate. For $600, by the way.
But I'm irritated. If Justin had not dismissed my issue in the first place, they would have noticed this at the time of estimate as I asked. If they paid attention and found the clicking as I had asked them to, I would have gotten the correct quote the first time around. I then would have chosen another mechanic, who offered to replace the entire system for $1K.
Now, I have to pay a total of OVER $1K if I want this fixed COMPLETELY, and it won't get me a whole new system.
I'm irritated that I was lead to believe I would get 3 items REPAIRED - then only got 2 items repaired for the (very expensive) cost of $500. I'm irritated that they now want $600 more for a repair that they refused to even acknowledge existed in the first place.
And most importantly - I didn't appreciate the way these people - and especially Justin - treated me as a woman.
    - I was talked to condescendingly.
    - My issues were dismissed, twice.
    - I was promised return calls - 3 times - that didn't happen.
I want mechanics who treat me like a person, not like a crazy person.
I also want mechanics who do what they say they will do.
I do NOT recommend these guys - and especially I caution any woman to avoid this place and find another mechanic.
    I will.

We really like them and have used them for two and a half years now. I have a positive review on everything that we've had to deal with them about. I had it towed there so they were able to look at it pretty quickly. I just left it with them to just look at it as soon as they could. They did see it that day.

    BNM Auto Repair
Brian McKinney has never done a restoration job before. He quoted me $2,500 and kept changing price, finally two weeks ago we settled a price and I came into make a final payment after he called me in to pick up car because he was done.
When I came in, he car was not done. They threw away my hood and lost parts to my hood that are incomplete. The paint isn't right color on the hood and side mirrors. I have a stencil for the hood and it is painted wrong on the hood. And my graphics were never put on. With all this Brian said that I now have to pay $1,200 dollars more because he has more in it. We had an agreement and he changed it. I called him a liar and he said "yes I am, but what are you gonna do about it, pay it in 30 days or the car is mine".

I argued with Brian and he told me to get off his property I said it was unfair. It all ended with Brian hitting me with his car and driving off!!!

He currently has criminal charges against him and soon a lawsuit.

Do not do business with this man!!!!!

Knight's Auto Glass Repair & Replacement
The holding strip for the windshield that they originally used was selected because it llooked better than the original factory equipment that originally came with the car. But after the install, they decided to replace the strip with an original model for better performance.
The company was extremely responsive, courteous and eager to do a great job all the way through.  I highly recommend Knights Auto Glass if you need glass replacement or repair. They are extremely professional and know what is best for your particular car model. They go the extra mile and make sure you are a happy customer. I give them the highest recommendation - they are really awesome.

    Hoffman's Automotive

They were quick, they were courteous, they were efficient. They may not be the cheapest but they fixed it beautifully. I got 5 start treatment there! They went over everything in advance and I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of.

    5 Star Auto Glass
I found them on the internet as being a local company and called them early this morning and they came out around 8:30 am, which was very responsive. A team of two extremely professional, polite, and courteous workers came out and looked at the damage. When they determined that it was too severe to fix, they then offered a really good rate on a replacement windshield. If I did not use my insurance, I would not hesitate to use 5 Star. If i have any more cracks in the future, they will be the very first people I call to see if they can fill it. I just can't thank them enough for how quickly they came out and how courteous and helpful they were. I highly recommend this company.
