Landscaping reviews in Keyser

The snow plow they sold me was worthless. I told them I knew next to nothing about plows and asked repeatedly over the phone if this was a good usable snow plow before driving all the way to Keyser, WV (2 hrs). I was told it had a "little rust" but was totally functional. I asked if they could mount it on my truck as they are a Hinaker snow plow dealer, but was told they do not do that work and I would have to take it elsewhere. When I picked up the plow I questioned them about the amount of rust and the condition of the plow and they said it showed a lot of rust because Curtis (plow manufacturer) did not undercoat their plows. They told me it had been "hardly used at all."
I drove it home and took it to a local dealer in snow plows. Service manager took one look and said his company would not mount it as it had at least 1/8" metal rust flakes coming off the plow and mount. Additionally the wiring was broken, one of the pins had broken off in its receptor socket and I would have to buy new wiring harnesses, about $400-600. The manager told me that in the condition the plow was in they should not have charged more than $500.00 for the plow.
Charles Doll called and told me they lost my check prior to my taking it to the dealer. I canceled the check to the tune of $36.00 and mailed another check.
They did take back the plow and return my checks (they had both) but I had to drive 2 hours to Keyser again. They offered no apology and did not refund my $36.00 that it cost me for their mistake in losing my original check. In fact they tried to tell me that the company I took the plow to was unscrupulous and only trying to keep them out of competition with the service company, they sell plows too.
Be VERY cautious in any dealings with this group. I do not know what their landscaping business is like but I would never buy a snow plow or any mechanical equipment from them!

    • I met them at the Maryland Home and Garden show. Aaron and John were absolutely wonderful to work with. I supplied them with current pictures of my yard and they came out and measured and looked. Withing a week I had drawings.
John and I sat down and talked about the drawings and tweaked them to fit just what I wanted. A few days later, I had my quote. I went to their office and worked out the specifics and they helped me get everything just where I wanted it to be.

They started my job immediately. 3 days from start to finish. Pictures and updates were provided throughout the day. It was so reassuring to see the progress and how everything was going.

I would highly recommend AMJ for any project you have. My yard is the size of a postage stamp and they made it look like a million bucks.

Thank you AMJ (Aaron and John)

Owner provided the estimate, but two of his employees did the actual work.  They were supposed to take down the trees and cut them into 18" - 24" sections and leave the wood; however, many, if not most, sections were longer than 24".  In taking down the trees, they damaged my sun porch, gutter, and stone steps.  When asked about any damage at the end of the day, they denied knowledge of any damage and when it was pointed out, they merely shrugged their shoulders like it was no big deal and left.  Initially, I was unaware of the full extent of the damage, but after doing a walk-around, it was clear they had to be aware of damage, but lied about it when asked.  The owner was contacted and did stop by to view said damage (after I called him twice).  He said they would take care of it, but after seven weeks of no one showing up, I called him again.  He said he would stop by later that day, but never did show up or call to say he wasn't coming.  That was almost two weeks ago and I've pretty much given up on seeing them back here.  I've used at least four different tree service/landscapers in my area over the 20 or so years I've lived here and without a doubt, these guys were the worst and most unprofessional of the bunch.

The workers arrived weekly and cut the grass in the back yard.  They also trimmed.  They were reliable and always did a good job.

They did a very good job. I am very pleased with them. Their pricing was good. They were very good. We also had them do some edging in the back yard and they did a very good job in that as well.
