    Medexpress Urgent Care
The doctor figured out was wrong and got me started on my medicine to start getting better. I would defiantly go back if something came up again and couldn't get in to see my doctor. They were fast and got me taken care of quickly without feeling like they were rushing me out the door.

When I walked into the waiting area, there were about four people in front of me, but by the time I checked in and registered I was the next in line and only waited about ten minutes to be seen. The building is new and clean, a pleasant environment compared to other health care facilities in the area. I was called into a room to check vitals and was quickly taken care of. The doctor came in shortly after the nurse left and was very personable and professional. He told me that he would begin treating me for the kidney infection but would send out the culture to have it tested to verify that the bacteria would respond to the antibiotics and that I would be contacted by the lab either way. I told him that there was a family history with a certain antibiotic not working so he immediately switched to an alternative. The antibiotic worked within a couple days and I was fine.

First of all, I believe they have streamlined their checking in process because I was in a waiting room in about 15 minutes. A nurse practitioner was waiting in the room when I arrived, asked all the questions and then left a gown, said the Dr. would be in shortly. I had just changed and sat back down and the Doctor was in. I have never had that happen before. I went through the reason for the visit, was examined, etc. Then I had 3 x-rays. The x-rays were read, the results discussed with me, given the run down on my prescriptions, and I was on my way. All of this happened in under an hour. Also, when I picked up my prescriptions, they were $4. I appreciate this, as well, when a doctor doesn't prescribe the most expensive thing because your insurance will pay for it. Overall, a great experience (despite the circumstances.)

I had to wait about 45 minutes before I saw the urgent care doctor. This was a Saturday. There were 10 - 15 people in the waiting room but the staff was effective in seeing people fairly quickly. When I saw the doctor, the first thing he did was order an x-ray of my foot. The x-ray was done immediately and the result was available within 10 minutes. The foot was indeed fractured. The attending doctor said he could not treat the type of fracture and said he would refer me to an orthopedic doctor, who he named. The referral did take place but it was Wednesday of the next week before it happened. I contacted the orthopedic practice on Monday and had already seen the orthopedic doctor by the time of the actual referral. The referred orthopedic doctor was excellent. My major negative about this urgent care facility is that they would not provide me with a copy of the foot x-rays and I had to have my foot x-rayed again. Also they were not electronically connected to my primary care physician or to the orthopedic practice.

Check-in was prompt, efficient and very professional. Within 5 minutes I was in an exam room. Vitals were taken. Within another 5 minutes the P.A. arrived. Again, efficient and professional. Everything was explained. My only problem with this visit to Medexpress - I was told I had a broken arm. I was fitted with a sling and prescribed and quot;Super Motrinand quot; It was Sunday morning. My primary care physician was unavailable. I went to MedExpress to find out what was wrong and to get help for the excruciating pain. I was told that they do not prescribe narcotics. I don't know if a real doctor was not available to approve a good pain pill or what. I do know that something similar would ever happen - I will go to the Local Emergency Room and at least get some treatment until I can see my family physician. Overall, I feel that this was a waste of time and money.
