    Basement Systems of West Virginia
I was thoroughly impressed with these guys.  I called Basement Systems of WV because they give free estimates.  So I figured I would let them figure out why I was getting water in the basement, instead of guessing at a couple of remedies myself that may or may not work.  They sent a packet with a lot of information regarding wet basements, solutions, and an introductory letter that included a picture of the engineer they would be sending to the house.   Getting the appointment took a little bit of time, I think it took about 6 weeks from when I called to get the appointment with the the engineer.  The engineer arrived and did a pretty good job of assessing the situation and coming up with a solution.    He wrote me an estimate, discussed financing options, and presented me with a written estimate for the work to be accomplished. After looking at other options, I decided to go with Basement Systems.  I called  and scheduled the work, again, it was about a month before they could begin the work.  The day they arrived the technicians were very professional.  They hung a lot of plastic curtains to try to reduce the amount of concrete dust that was going to ensue.  They got to work rapidly, I honestly can say that I have never seen two men work so hard for so long.  I thought they would have to tear out a whole section of slate tile to get to where they needed to demo, but one of them got a saw, cut the area, and removed only what he needed without damaging any of the other tile.  Impressive!  They worked hard and explained to me what they were doing as they went along.  When they were done (it took all day), they cleaned up and explained how everything worked.   The next week, as scheduled, I had another crew in to re-install the walls with metal studs and a concrete type sheetrock.  They explained that if water got behind the walls this would not allow mold or mildew to grow and the drain systems, installed the week before, would remove any water to the newly installed sump pump.  (Which is very nice,  not some open hole in the ground, rather, an enclosed pumping system, and it double as a new drain in the garage)  These guys were done in a few hours, again, very professional and informative. I think these guys are top shelf.  You have to wait a bit to get them to your home, and get them started, but I think this is because of the volume of work they have to do.  I also think they are a little pricey, but I am a believer in you pay for what you get, and when you are talking about a major investment, such as your home, pay the little extra and have the job done right.   Also the lifetime warranty is a plus.

    Liberty Excavating LLC
Greg and his team arrived promptly and diagnosed the problem right away. They made some adjustments inside the distribution box and put on a proper riser (the one the builder had put there was insufficient.) Liberty was efficient, honest, competent, courteous and professional. The problem was resolved and did not require excavation as the last company had suggested.

Greg is great he came to the house and looked over the issues and provided me several options. He also provided me with contact information to get the diagrams we would need. He even dug by hand trying to locate the problem. All of this at no charge. Once we set the appointment forthe work to bedone he and his son arrived a little later than expected, however, being the professional that he is he contacted me to let me know. Once they were there they went immediately to work and were very thorough in the work even had us test things throughout the process. He had to make a couple trips to Lowe's for pipe fittings but this was to be expected for our old piping. He even moved a tree for us at no extra cost. He allowed me to watch the entire process and answered any questions I had completely and professionally. My wife and I prefer to do business with smaller local companies and people like Greg are the reason why. His level of pride and professionalism dwarfs any competition. Especially ones that won't return calls. If I EVER need any more excavations Greg will be my FIRST and ONLY call.

    MTK Excavating
MTK is a rarity. They do what they say. They do it when they say they do it. And it costs what they say it will cost. It was a pleasure dealing with them.

    Deadwood Excavating & Logging
Kirk did two separate jobs for us over the course of 6-7 months. The first was to create a french drain along the front area of our house, in order to stop flooding from rain water flowing down mountainside, he did a beautiful job, and have never had flooding again.  Second job was to create pad on side of mountain large enough for a 30'x50' pole building to be built, this was a complex and difficult job from the get go, Kirk tackled the job like the pro he is, with great attention to detail, performing the work over the course of months as I waited for pole building to be fabricated and delivered. The huge pad was dead on perfect, and the pole building went up without a snag, in large part thanks to Kirk.

    Davis General Contracting
Davis Contracting kept all scheduled timelines on the work completion.  The work was "A" plus quality and the rates were much less expensive than other quotes I received.  I will continue to use this company in the future and recommend them for bigger or smaller jobs.  They proved the high recommendations I received to use them to be true and accurate.

    Bob B Excavating
Bob "B" Excavating's service has been great. On several occasions, where his service was required to keep roads open, his service was immediate. And the best thing: He backs up his work.

Bud Hypes Plumbing & Sewer Service
Slow draining tub, a toilet that just won't flush, and some back flow when using the dishwasher left us thinking we just had a major clog.  To our surprise, it was a collapsed sewer line that needed to be replaced.  While there was a 1 week wait due to the time of year and the demands they were expecting, we were more than happy to wait the week.  Work went quickly and smoothly, and was far less intrusive than we anticipated.  Their staff even wore shoe coverings when coming into the house!  Only some minor clean up work was required once they left, which appeared to be an oversight when they cleaned up.  Everything else was back to normal after they left and no problems since.

    Bob B Excavating
Definitely a quality service provider. After a neighbor used Bob B Excavating for a renovation project and we saw the fine work done, we asked for the 411 and contacted "Bob" to regrade a somewhat tricky slope of a driveway to our cabin. The estimate was the price paid, the work was done when and how it was promised and we couldn't be happier with the work. Have another project coming up and we will be sure to see what he can do for us.
