I did not consider for deck job as we had work done by them previously. First of all, they contract out the work without telling you. The did a good job on the foundation. The work that was required after the foundation, such as the yard, was terrible. They would not take responsibility for shoddy work, said they did all they could do and would not return any further calls.

In doing so, I had to get my sewer line checked out. There was an issue. I had to invest $40,000 on a new sewer line, but I wouldn't of known about that if they didn't come out. It was a win/lose situation. Everything that they could do on their end of things to help, they did.

The project took two days.  It involved jackhammering about 65 feet of concrete 6 inches wide next to the indoor block wall.  The concrete was super hard and that task was hard work.  Installation of the below ground drainage system and sump pump went smoothly. All jack hammered material was carried out one 5 gallon bucket at a time.  Needless to say there was a lot of dust created indoors.  Perhaps they could invent a better way to suppress or deal with that dust.  We have had one hard rain since the installation, and not a single drop of water appeared in an area that would have previously seen water.

He is crazy good. His contact name is Michael. I was really impressed with him. He did a great job. He is a young guy and the quality of his work was outstanding. We are still in mid project. The project started six months ago. We are working on a tight budget. We are into the last third of it.  We talk a lot. He has ethics and standards. He takes pride in his work.  He can't do sub standard work. He has lost fifteen pounds since starting the project. He does the work himself. If someone does not give top quality work, he lets them go. He expects the best! He is meticulous. Mike is a winner and he is trying to keep costs down for us. We collaborate with keeping the costs down for the restaurant build.  We are enjoying the project very much. He is only twenty eight years of age.  I would recommend him to anyone.

A downpayment of $500 was given to him to cover cost of materials and the original agreement was for a concrete truck to deliver the concrete. Final payment of $500 to be paid at completion. Several days of canceling or just not showing up, he finally arrives late in the day with several bags of concrete mix, a new in box concrete mixer and some tools. He leaves them all in my backyard and says he'll be back in morning. He calls the next day to cancel citing employee issues. The next day he shows up in afternoon with another man and takes the concrete mixer and leaves. Another day of not showing, and he finally comes but without the concrete mixer. He proceeds to pour dry concrete bags into the area with no preparation whatsoever. I called someone knowledgeable in the process and asked them, they confirmed this was NOT the correct way to do it. I go to ask him about it, and he proceeds to tell me that you can pre-mix or not pre-mix either way. I ask him why he wasn't using the concrete mixer and he starts to get defensive. He asked why I was questioning him when he had 16 years of experience. I told him at this point, I didn't really trust what he says. He immediately tells his helpers to pack up, they were leaving. He had used up all the concrete bags on the one small pad and I tell him that I paid for enough concrete for both pads. He said "there's your $500 right there" and points to the small pad. I'm glad I questioned him before he did the large pad, I'm sure it would have been a mess and would have cracked this winter since he wasn't doing any prep and mixing it dry on the ground. I'm out $500, all I got was about $50 worth of concrete and half an hour of labor and a poorly constructed product.
