    United Structural Systems Ltd Inc
My first encounter with United Structural Systems company ( USS) was last year, when I had to face the decision which company I go for foundation repair at my house in West Virginia. It was equal bids on my project from two companies USS and Alltek. Unfortunately for me, I made the decision to go with Alltek Environmental Services company at that time. Foundation repair was finished in August 2019 by Alltek (please read my review, that I placed separately for Alltek). 48,000 dollars payment later foundation been done. I finally be able to place my house for sale this year and come to realization, after inspection is done on the house, that it is a presence of water leak in the storage area. I could not believe, how it is possible, when the foundation repair was just done 8 months ago. I guess, things were not done properly after all. After numerous attempts to contact Alltek company, I finally be able to get the response with another promise to “fix it” in the amount of $9,200 or later for free…if I take off my review of their company from homeadvisor.com. Lack of professionalism, poor craftsmanship and PR was major disappointment for me. To be honest, after I been treating inferiorly by Alltek, I did not have any desire to go back to the same company. I was looking for second opinion how to resolve these issues. I decided to reach out again United Structural (who I was hoped to remember me from last year) and explain my dilemma. Bobby K. (Sales Manager for USS) come to the rescue! He was willing to give me his unbiased opinion on the situation. Bobby K, “commander in charge”, went to the house and informed me, that “downspout lines were never installed, the part on top of the ground went nowhere and tie back patch was poor quality”. Simply put it, Alltek did a mediocre job. I immediately made the decision go ahead and proceed with United Structural Systems company for repair of the mistakes. I cannot say enough praise for the USS company and manager Bobby K. This re-du project was done in timely matter, communication was superior ( needless to say I live out of state and it was never an issue), area after the job was clean up to perfection and…the garage/storage area now look dry bone and beautiful. Awhhhh... maybe I should not sell my house after all?! I have a buyer on the house, and I am closing in 2 weeks and can say with all honesty, I could not do that without United Structural help. It was exceedingly difficult situation for me, and it was resolved by USS company with flying colors. Thank you again USS. I recommend you without any hesitation!!! Your company should be proud of to provide such an excellent service and have knowledgeable, competent and skillful experts. Lana Y, Rochester, NY “We are NY tough”

Best experience ever! Most professional group I’ve ever worked with, especially Jay Miller. Hope the company knows what a treasure he is. He even came out a few extra times to answer questions for a potential buyer of our home. Top notch all the way around. Would highly recommend to anyone needing home services. The whole team was curteous and kind. Cleaned up afterwards too!

This company was outstanding to work with. They informed me that what they were doing would not cure the problem but it would divert the water into the drainage system. They went above what they told me they would do. They told me they had to dig a hole in the front lawn for the water to drain into but the foreman said he would not mess up the fron lawn and he hand dug 6' deep to connect to the storm drainage system. The basement is now dry as a bone now. I purchased another home in the area a couple of years later and called the company to fix the basement in that house and was told they could not work in this area now. I was very disappointed because they truly do outstanding work.

This company is the epitome of what a contractor should be.  They show up when they say they will, they are responsive, and they are just all around a reliable company.  Unfortunately, we couldn't afford the price.  The job was likely worth the price, but we personally could not afford it.  I'd still use them if a situation arose that I had to have services done as opposed to an optional situation like crawlspace encapsulation.  I'd recommend them to anyone that needed their services.

The project took two days.  It involved jackhammering about 65 feet of concrete 6 inches wide next to the indoor block wall.  The concrete was super hard and that task was hard work.  Installation of the below ground drainage system and sump pump went smoothly. All jack hammered material was carried out one 5 gallon bucket at a time.  Needless to say there was a lot of dust created indoors.  Perhaps they could invent a better way to suppress or deal with that dust.  We have had one hard rain since the installation, and not a single drop of water appeared in an area that would have previously seen water.

After considering a variety of options to keep water out of our crawlspace I decided that the better route was to not worry about water getting in and to keep the moisture contained. Our floor joists were rotting and the air handling unit was rusting. The price seemed pretty steep for the labor and materials but it was in line with other drainage options. There was a group of about five that quickly did the job very professionally. The crawlspace is so nice now that I (seriously) take my shoes off to walk through it. It is reassuring that they leave a humidistat so you can monitor the humidity in the crawlspace and see the results of your spent money. I did not buy one of their very expensive dehumidifiers using the logic that if the barrier worked the way it was supposed to that I shouldn't need to dehumidify. Instead, I put in a small room dehumidifier. The humidity in our crawlspace prior to the work was over 90%. Now the humidity never exceeds 55%. I consider it money well spent.

Workmen showed up as scheduled, Readily took care of some minor requests I had related to the job but not part of the contract. Cleaned up after work was completed and explained things I should do to make sure installation always performed as it was supposed to.
