    Mark Wilkinson Appliance Repair
I called Mark at approximately 1:00pm and on 6/30/20 and told him our Samsung oven wasn't heating. He gave me a time frame between 2:30 and 5:00 because of other jobs. He showed up at 2:45 immediately diagnosed the problem, told us what the cost would be up front and had it fixed and working within 10 minutes. HE IS A SUPER NICE GUY AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. I kind of want to break another appliance to give him more work! He is the owner of the business.

    Mark Wilkinson Appliance Repair
Mark attempted a repair and found there might be multiple problems. He told me he could try each probable fix but the cost for parts and time would run close to the purchase of a new unit and may not fix the problem. Honesty appreciated. He advised to get a new unit since mine was 15 years old and even if he managed to fix my unit something else was likely to go in the near future. Mark is a quality guy.

Excellent repair service. Jim was very professional and gathered all of the necessary information to diagnose the likely problem over the phone so he could come with the necessary replacement parts. He called when he was on his way here (like he promised) and he arrived in the window promised. He was in and out in 20 minutes and was a very personable guy. His rates are very reasonable and I strongly recommend hiring him.

    Choice Home Warranty
Super The part I really like about Choice is the option for them to dispatch a service person or in the case of a complex HVAC system the ability to use someone familiar with it....We have used both options. So far--really impressed with how they operate and the program.

Jim was very courteous and professional. He went above and beyond to fix the dryer and made it as good as new. Even went back to his shop to get a better repair kit. Very reasonable service. Will definitely call him again for any appliance repairs!

    Kelbachs Appliance Service
We were given a two-hour window when the repair person would arrive. Joe arrived early in that time span and was informative and easy to deal with. He explained the two possibilities of what the problem might be, made a recommendation, had the needed belts in the truck, and quickly fixed our older washer. I will definitely call Kelbachs the next time we need an appliance serviced.

I suspected that the dryer vent was clogged before calling JD Appliance. My call to Jim was answered promptly and we arranged for him to look at the dryer three days later; he told me that he did not do vent cleaning, but that lint build up in the machine could still be the problem. Unfortunately, Jim's residence caught on fire the morning of our initial appointment (it was in fact covered on the local TV news) and he called to reschedule.. The only reason that he got a B for punctuality is that he was running behind schedule and did not call to tell me that he was going to be about an hour late. When he checked the dryer, he found that air flow was blocked by a blob of lint at the exit from the dryer. This was removed and the vent was also cleared as far as he could reach. He recommended that the dryer not be positioned so close to the wall to allow the vent tube to be straighter. He also recommended the service of the dryer vent cleaning company if his work did not fix the problem and provided me the name of another Angie's list company (A rating). His work is under warranty for 90 days. He did not charge for labor, only the service call. He is friendly, courteous, honest, and professional. Would definitely use again and highly recommend JD Appliance.

    Unique Repair Services
My 2 year and 2 month old Samsung top loader was powering on but wouldn't start a cycle. I scheduled repair service through Samsung. I was responsible for a $109 payment in order to reserve the service which I was told would be credited toward the final repair bill. I figured that might cover half of a new control board which I presumed to be the case, so I agreed. The technician came, confimed with my wife that the board needed to be replaced. My wife texted me that the cost would be $286, I grumblingly agreed, thinking the price was steep, but we needed a washing machine for our family of 7. I got home shortly thereafter and spoke with the technician briefly who was just finishing up. He had been there around 40 minutes (a conservative overestimation). When I handed him my card and asked the amount being charged, he said "$286". I mentioned that i had already paid $109 and he said that yes, the TOTAL charge for the repair was $395 and that he was "sorry that you're over barrel on this, but you really don't have much choice, since nobody is delivering new appliances right now". I didn't get a chance to see the invoice as it was on an iPad that wasn't given to me for signature (Covid-19 precautions) and he said it would come via email. When I got the invoice I saw that the labor charge came to $195. FOR 40 MINUTES OF WORK. I promptly called the company to ask why this rate was acceptable and spoke with a customer service person who explained that the labor charge was a "Blue Book" rate that charged based on the type of service as opposed to an hourly rate. I have replaced circuit boards on appliances before. It's not rocket science. In fact, most rocket scientists don't get paid $200+ an hour! I asked to be called back by a manager. In the meantime, I called Samsung to complain and they told me that if I had negotiated with them before the service was completed, they might have been able to cover the cost of the parts, but since the ticket was closed they can do nothing. They said that they have no control over labor prices charged by their certified repair contractors. I explained that before the work was done, I had NO IDEA that I was being charged $195 in labor charges because I HAD NOT BEEN CHARGED and therefore had no way to know that I would need to negotiate with Samsung. So frustrating. I was called back by a manager from Unique who gave me the exact same "we charge customary Blue Book prices" excuse. I recommend that you find another service provider or AT LEAST get a full breakdown of charges before agreeing to service. I will say this - the washer now works and the technician was prompt (early) and generally professional.
