    A Way Home Moving, Llc
Justin and his crew showed up early and got to work right away. They moved all of our large furniture and boxes in a record time. They disassembled our king bed, bunk beds and couches at the old place, hauled them, and put them back together at the new place with no issues. Really hard workers who get the job done quickly. I highly recommend them and would hire again. Really took the stress out of moving day!

    Good professional scheduling.
Moved all items safely and professionally.
Reliable service. Only factor was they did not remember to place moving floor mats in the original home (although they did it in new home) -- got a little dirty otherwise no complaints.

    You Move Me
Less than a week before the move, I was told that the price would be double what I was quoted. I had to scramble to find a different moving company. I would not recommend that anyone use You Move Me.

Everything went so well with this moving company. From scheduling the move on the day that I needed to the unloading of the truck, it couldn't have gone smoother! The 2-guy team showed up early to my storage unit and loaded up the truck in less than 30 min. They took great care in the furniture items by covering them in pads and securing everything in the truck. On arrival at my new home, they unloaded the items quickly and got them in the right rooms. All was done in under 2 hours! (Note: I had a 10x10 storage unit about 80% full, so there wasn't a lot of stuff and not much furniture.) They were very conscious of the time to ensure they wouldn't go over 2 hours. I highly recommend them for any local moving, and would seriously consider using them to coordinate a long distance move should I need to do that again.

A1 Movers of Sauk Prairie LLC
Overall it went very well.  They arrived promptly and quickly got to work.  They worked steadily and efficiently.  They were great kids and young men who were friendly, outgoing and helpful.  When we had them move a heavy china hutch up stairs and then back down when we changed our minds, they said no problem and got right to it.  They were very careful and got through the move without breaking anything.
Our cost was a bit higher than estimate, but that was due to a couple of issues with the storage unit (couldn't get their truck close the storage unit and had to use dollies) and the fact that we had a bit more at the house than we thought when I talked with them. This required a second trip which added some transit time, plus the time associated with the addition stuff.
I would recommend them without hesitation.

My impression of the people at Capital City Transfer is that they are good, helpful folks.  Our move went very close to plan (which in and of itself is a good sign), but I particularly felt that the movers were friendly, willing to take on all the work, happy to take on a challenge, and trustworthy enough to lock up when they were done.
The company owner and estimator, Rolf, got our estimate almost exactly right in terms of hours and number of people.  Everything happened right on time and according to plan (except that the movers did all their work in the pouring rain).  After brief deliberation, the movers were able to move a very heavy piano safely out through the basement without any trouble.  They offer packing services, so our foreman packed up all our glass and ceramic dishes for us while the other movers were taking out the boxes and furniture.
At our new home (a local move), nothing was damaged and they did a decent job of sorting out which furniture went in which room.  The heavy piano needed to go down the stairs into the basement, and that took a lot of planning. They called in an extra helper, took a few extraneous pieces off the piano, and down the stairs they went, no damage to the piano.  We had a few timing issues where something needed to be done while I wasn't available, and the foreman always had a creative solution to get it done and lock up behind himself as needed.
The one area where I felt the company was lacking was communication.  As a new homeowner, I wanted information on their website or over the phone on what to pack vs. leave out of a box, how to pack safely, how to label where furniture should go, and expectations for us on moving day.  Additionally, although I went to the office ahead of time to confirm, they apparently don't call customers with a confirmation and arrival time until a day or two before the move.  Finally, no one set expectations with me for what role I would play during the move.  I had planned to take my child to an appointment while they were moving into the new home, when they told me I was supposed to be helping "direct traffic" and point out where the furniture should go.  I had just put my child down for a nap when they told me it was time for them to return an appliance to the old home, and they needed me to let them in.  So, more information overall and a better plan of attack up front would have been much appreciated.  As it was, we solved these issues with a little juggling (thanks largely to the quick thinking of the foreman) and it turned out fine.
I would definitely choose these movers again for any Madison-area move.

We received a call from Mad City about 30 mins prior to the scheduled move time (8:00 a.m.) to let us know that one of the crew was stranded, that they would be a little bit late, but that they would send three guys instead of two to make up for the late start.  Greg, Carlton, and Mike were wonderful.  They were courteous, friendly/sociable, and nice to work with.  They set to work quickly when they arrived and didn't stop to take a breath until they were done.  Items were wrapped/protected, and handled very carefully including being careful about walls, doors and floors.   They were an absolute pleasure to work with.   We had had several weeks to move small items by ourself so there was no need for them to box up or move a lot of boxes, just the larger and heavier pieces that we still had left.  They dropped off items exactly where we wanted them in the new place.  Smiling, friendly throughout the whole process, professional and positive attitudes.  We would definitely use Mad City again and recommend them to others, especially these three guys.  We hope they get a little extra recognition at year-end bonus time! ;>)

We've used MadCity 3 times now.  Every time I'm more impressed with the quality of service.    The gentlemen moving our belongings were professional, showed on time, got everything to the destination with no damage and hustled.  A company like this could easily drag it's feet just to get another hour out of your pocket book.  This has never been our experience with this company.  Great experience.

Excllent Service from the estimate by Rolf thr the packing thru delivery thru unloading.
Crew packed entire house in one day, loaded the next day and delivered across state the day after that.
Crew was friendly and professional.  Worked efficiently and in a timely manner.
Crew unloaded in 90+ heat in five hours.  They placed all furniture, boxes where we wanted.  All of our items were here and in good shape.

It was a very bad experience. They promised us a price without exception, then raised it. Many materials were broken. they promised our things would be put in storage, but they did not, ruining some of our posessions. They promised they would be the move out and the move in company, then they outsourced the driving and move in and lied about it until they were found out. They moved us in one day after they had promised.

The person who did our estimate was very professional, then the experience itself, including working with the same person, was very painful.
