    A Jack Of All Trades
The quote states 'Price is Actual Cost' which was absolutely not what he charged us. The actual price of the seed was $8 and was charged $82! Upon questioning he became very upset and said he was running a business and that was that. There were several other items we were over charged for. We are still several months later waiting for a refund on the landscaping stone he returned but we never received repayment for. I would NOT hire again - He preformed the work over several days mixed in with other jobs coming and going - never really sure when he was coming or going.

    Lawn Doctor Of Madison
Recently I received an unsolicited EMAIL offer from Lawn Doctor that purportedly offered a discounted price for the first fertilizer/weed killer service on our lawn.  I responded saying I was interested in one such service for 2015.. Stephanie Neuwoehner, the Office Manager, responded saying four applications in a season is the minimum they'd consider.  I upped my offer to two applications.  No again responded Stephanie.  Lawn Doctor recommended six applications a season but would be willing to do only four.  Now, I'd not write a criticism if Stephane had the integrity to say six is Lawn Doctor's way of maximizing income from its crews, damage to our soil and the lakes be damned.  But no, she had the audacity to write:
"Our full program is six applications running about five weeks apart.  When you wait longer in between applications weeds will infiltrate and lawns will not get the needed nutrients with less than four applications."
Since my lawn is doing fine even though I've not put commercial fertilizer on it sine 2012 (though I do leave grass clippings on it) I knew this response was about as truthful as a typical politician's promise.  Check out Lawn Doctor's logo.  See the green thumb?  That's what you can expect after sticking it in one of our lakes thanks to firms like Lawn Doctor.

Been using them for about 5 years. They have grown quite a bit since we first started with them. The owner doesn't come out as he has several crews now and they all seem to do a good job. They are pretty reasonable on the price.

A fleet of 6-8 workers arrived and they hustle. They were very nice and very efficient and overall did god, although not great work as they were going so fast. It was real cold out and they had a few jobs to scramble to which is undrrstandable. We were impressed and work with them again.

We have used Brad for similar work in the past.  He is always conscientious and personable.  Brad understood what we were looking to do but he still took the time to review his work plans and results on a daily basis.  The results of his work are always excellent.  He carefully pulled trees and shrubs making every attempt to extract the root system.  Then he smoothed over each disturbed area with the backhoe.  In areas with significant activity he used his bobcat to completely smooth the grade.

I had a coupon for a free Buckey Book with an estimate. We got a few estimates because we were ready to get the work done. They didnt bring the Buckey Book with them and he gave me a used one out of his truck. But we decided to go with him for the work. They had a middle of the road price. He seemed thorough and sincere and had a good attitude. He promised the design within 2 weeks and it never came. I called and I was promised it in another week. I received the schematics, but no quote. When I called this time he told me that he was too busy and didnt have enough workers. By mid July, we had now passed the point of getting our rain for the season. We had needed the lawn seeded and he didn't even do that. At that point, I called him and told him no thank you, and forget about doing the work for us. He wasted weeks and weeks of our time. We were never able to get our yard seeded professionallly last year because of that company. So we had to seed our own lawn ourselves in the fall.

Our service experience has been great. Our lawn was always mowed on time and was neatly trimmed. All trimmings were removed as promised. The snow removal was done well. There were a couple of marks made on our lawn by their equipment. They have already agreed to repair the damage free of charge.

Vern is very efficient and works hard. They really listened to what we wanted and offered great suggestions. It was a great partnership and they are very easy to work with. As this was a large project, it took about a week's worth of work in-between the rain, but we were always kept apprised of the progress and plan and knew exactly when they would be back to finish and the timeline that they were operating under. We have used their services in the past at our other properties and have always been pleased with the work and the finished product. I would never hesitate to recommend them. As a matter of fact, whenever we have recommended them, we have always had nothing but positive feedback about the work performed and the ease of working with Vern and Melissa and their employees.

My and quot;account managerand quot; (sales guy) met with me at our home and we walked through the yard discussing in detail all the work that I wanted. (I even made passing references to future landscaping projects the company would get if I liked their work.) He made some notes and came up with a quote, which I accepted, so we drew up a contract. He figured it would take his crew two days, and we scheduled the first day.
The crew arrived a bit late the first day but also worked late, and got through quite a bit of the project. However, they pruned two lilac bushes down to the ground, even though I had discussed these two in particular with the account manager and we had agreed to only prune them 1/3 back on each of three successive years. I called him out to my home to show him and discuss. He apologized for the misunderstanding and suggested that we could and quot;work something outand quot; to replace them.
After some phone tag, we managed to schedule the second work day to finish the project. I had already left for the day by the time the crew arrived, and returned home after they had gone. More progress had been made, but it was by no means complete. I called the account manager again and he said that since it had been a Friday, the crew had hit their 40-hour limit lart way through the day and had quit early; we would have to schedule another time. And since by then it was December, all their crews were booked solid for the winter clearing snow and would not be able to resume my project until spring.
Shortly thereafter, I received a bill for the full amount, and foolishly I paid it. Needless to say, they never did complete the work as contracted. The remainder of the project, and all future work that I had discussed with them, will go to their competitors.

I have used them for several years. I am very pleased with them. They do landscaping and lawn maintenance for me. They are very professional and come out when they say they would. They are pleasant to work with. They do what work I have contracted with them to do. They did a great job with the rock wall. They worked with these huge rocks. They come out every year to work on my yard. I spend about $90 on the job. They come out 3-4 times a year for lawn feeding. They have been excellent. I have not looked elsewhere for a better job. Their prices have been reasonable. The employees are not very professional, but the owners certainly are. I will continue to use their services in the future.
