  work was completed on (a tight) schedule, to budget and to a very high quality of workmanship. John also assisted with City Variances and planning board issues, completed all permits and was open and clear about hours, work process, supplies, and always careful to involve us in all decisions. The subcontractors were very professional and pleasant. problems were easy to address and rectify to our satisfaction with John.

  We had a great experience working Ralston Exteriors. Ryan was very helpful in the planning and design process and kept me updated with cost estimates and scheduling. The crew was also great, efficient, and talented at their craft. The end result is we have a great looking house, quite a dramatic change, and exactly what we were wanting out of the project. Pricing was great, too. Looking forward to hiring them again next year for a decking project.

  Five Star Painting of Madison

  Five Star was great to work with. I had contacted several painters for this job and Five Star was the only one to return my call. They came out to view the job within a few days and we discussed the scope of work and price. They sent me an actual quote within a few days. I was kept up-to-date as to when to expect a painter to be there and they arrived as expected. My job took an extra day because of weather and they were prompt in letting me know when they could be back. I am very pleased with the work they did, the overall customer service and I also though there pricing was fair. This is a small business that lives up to their name.

  Matt was on time, knowledgeable, and professional. The quote he provided was straight-forward, and he gave lots of detail. The quote wasn't the lowest but wasn't the highest we received to re-side our house - it was right in the middle. The warranty on workmanship that they provide is the highest of all our quotes. I haven't chosen a contractor yet but would feel really comfortable recommending Genesis.

  We had met with several other companies before we found John and we were frustrated that their quotes for the project were hundreds of thousands of dollars over our budget, and they didn't seem to care about working with us to build a home we could afford. We were very discouraged. We feel so lucky we found John. He not only worked with us to help us find ways to cut costs, but his attention to detail is incredible. He goes way above and beyond to make sure things are perfect and he continues to check in with us, long after the project was finished. He's the hardest worker I have ever met, and he truly cares about his clients. Honestly, I don't have enough words to say how grateful we are for all he did for us. This project has been years in the making, and to see it come to fruition is incredible. We can't stop looking at the beautiful timbers and not a day goes by that we don't think how lucky we are to live here. And it was John Thompson who made that dream come true.

  Matt Winterberg was very professional and easy to work with. My husband was hospitalized at the time the windows were to be installed. Matt worked around our scheduled and ended up installing them in November. They did an excellent job and we are very satisfied with the Softlite Element windows. They also did repair work on our siding. We just hired them again to replace the only window we did not do in 2015.

  American Painting Professionals was great to work with. Adam is very good at taking into account his clients needs and wishes. He is very responsive to any concerns and questions that we brought up and we've enjoyed working with him and his painting crew. They have a great attention to detail and they take pride in the work that they do. His prices are very reasonable and he's always been quick to turn around a price quote for us. They only use high quality paint and stain and they always leave extra behind in case you need to paint over nicks later on.

  DRH Fencing LLC

  The entire process went very well. I have included some specifics about each phase of the process. Estimate: We received a free on site estimate for the work. They priced out four different scenarios for the fence. Price: This price was as competitive a price as we could find. Installation: They installed the fence in one day. There was a small issue with the scheduling described below, but everything else went pretty well. There are a few gaps that are bigger than I would prefer, but still good overall. Fence quality: This is our first year with the fence, but so far, the quality of the wood used appears to be good. We had two minor issues with the work that was done. The first was the time period. We had to wait almost twice as long as expected to have the fence installed. We were told the company that provides them with the wood would not deliver to them until they had a full shipment. They are a smaller company, so perhaps this is common with smaller companies that do not have the volume of bigger ones. The second issue happened the day of the installation. They left us a message stating when they would be onsite. We were still getting out property lines staked out and called to say we would not be ready on that day. We did not hear back from them, and when the day came, a crew showed up at our house. Since they already had a crew there, we agreed to let them proceed with the installation. They used blueprints we provided to mark off the lines. We had already talked to our neighbors about the fence, so there have been no issues with the boundaries. I just wish it could have been addressed prior to them being on site.

  Action Fence

  Our only experience with Action is on their estimate. I have no insight on their work or customer service after installation. We did not use Action Fence for the fence. They were very responsive and courteous with the free estimate they provided. They provided us a quote for a standard 4' wooden fence with two gates. Their estimate used steel rods for the posts and did not set them in concrete. They used that method to provide a cheaper solution than a concrete set post. We were able to find a company that installed a 5' fence with concrete set posts for the same price as the Action estimate, so we went with that company.

  Done Right Custom Painting

  Contractor does not show up for confirmed appointments according to my experience and that of other owners in the building. They called a few times to cancel again with excuses that he can not perform work, Each time he commits to showing up, but he doesn't. He is poor at combinations before the job even begins and usually does not return of calls and I've given him one more shot to make this right. Otherwise we are almost at 30-days with no service and have begun to ask for refund process. as we have no other option. We will upgrade the review if puget a hold o3/pm Monday
