I contacted this company for a quote and when the work could be done. I decided to delay getting the work done, but appreciated the quick response--even over the weekend. The other two companies I contacted didn't even bother to respond.

Jake scheduled the initial appointment for a Saturday, and did arrive on time.  He seemed very knowledgeable and said he would get us an estimate by the end of the day Monday.  No estimate and no contact from Jake.  We waited a week and called to follow-up.  He answered and said he would get us an estimate by the end of the day.  That was several weeks ago and we have had no contact from Jake and have not received an estimate.  We were extremely disappointed.  We did not bother trying any further as his lack of follow-through and professionalism did not give us confidence in any future work he would have committed to.

it went pretty good. They clean up the fire place. They were very considered bring clean blanket for the work area and take their shoes before entering the house.
I will recommend these guys again.

The tech (it's been a bit, so I'm blanking on the name) showed up right on time, was very courteous, and described what he had done when he was finished. He took care to not leave any kind of mess and left the house in as good a shape as he'd found it.
I had a few questions when he'd finished up (i.e. anything look like it'd need service in the future), and he gave what felt like an honest assessment of our fireplace (good now, will likely need some new flashing...i a few years time) and gave me a few things to watch for.
All in all, I was very pleased with the service and will use them again.

Went well, nice job.  Technicians were friendly, arrived on time, cleaned my gas insert fireplace without making a mess (they brought their own drop cloth, took off their shoes, etc).  Answered my questions on how to restart the pilot.  Happy with the service.

We did have a chimney clean out from a service provider on Angie's List that was excellent. This was a different type of a fire place that we ever had and we didn't understand how to use it. They showed up on time. They protected the floor and put those shoes on. There were 2 helpers with him. They were very professional. They answered all of our questions, gave us more information than what we asked for which we appreciated. We will hire them back again. I would give them 'A's all the way through.

I was very pleased with the service Fox Chimney provided. The technician was extremely knowledgeable about our fireplace and fixed a problem with the wiring that had apparently existed since it was installed. We enjoy our fireplace much, much more now that the fan works correctly, the glass is clean, and we have more embers. Very much worth the expense!

They came out precisely when they said they would. Unfortunately they were too busy to be able to provide the actual repair for a nimber of months. Therefore we had to go with another company.

They arrived on time and got right to work. One person worked on wood-burning fireplace and its chimney while the other worked on the pellet stove in the basement. I had not had time to clean the firebox since the last fire, so there was a little extra cleaning for them to do (wasn't charged!). The only extra charge above the Angie's List special was the pellet stove. They spent most of their time dismantling the the connection to the chimney to discover it had not been installed correctly (Top Hat Fireplace installed) and ash was not being dropped into the chimney collection system...just piling up in the vent.
I was extremely happy with their service and professionalism and will use them again.

We recently moved into this home and needed to have the 2 flue, exterior brick chimney inspected. After inspection, it was decided that our wood stove insert (in the lower level) was installed with a direct connection to the flue. This is a method where the stove pipe is only run up to the smoke shelf where it stops - the rest of the flue is 13x13 clay lined. This type of install is hard to keep clean, leads to creosote build-up at the block off plate and doesn't draft efficiently. So, we decided to get it done right and put a full stainless steel flex liner running all the way from the stove up to the top of the chimney.
Scheduling: I had to be more proactive than I would have liked when getting the scheduling done. I had to email them on several occassions to remind them to set up the install time. A little bit of unresponsiveness is understood given the time of year.
Install: The installation went great. The technicians were very knowledgeable and friendly. They worked efficiently and answered all my questions along the way. I was very impressed with install.
Pricing: Pricing was right where I figured it should be given the cost of the liner and the install time.
Overall, I was very pleased with the experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Top Hat.
