    Brookfield Heating & Cooling LLC
Jeff (owner), Russ, and the rest of the Brookfield Heating and Cooling team excel in customer service and timely communication. They kept us apprised of progress along each step of the project. Their hard work kept the project on time, without sacrificing their constant attention to detail. We would recommend them to anyone seeking courteous, reliable installation and service at a fair price.

Our 14 year old furnace conked out unexpectedly (when do they give us a notice?) on a cold early April day. I called two well recommended furnace companies, of which Burkhardt's was one. Both were prompt in sending out a rep to give me a proposal on a new system, but the furnace Burkhardt proposed was what seemed to be of equal quality and more cost favorable. We chose Burkhardt. The installation was done two days later (at my request) and could not have been handled better. The two technicians they sent arrived promptly, used shoe covers to protect our floors and did the job in less time than anticipated. The furnace has been working since (sad to say we are still in heating season here) and is very quiet. The comfort level in our main and lower level floors (the areas served by this furnace) is the same if not better than with the old furnace. I would recommend them wholeheartedly!

Burant Heating & Air Conditioning LLC
Poor quality and unwillingness to make it right. Joints unattached, ducts leaking air due to holes not covered, reuse of materials instead of using new and an unsightly routing in basement, Fresh air make-up duct wrapped around floor joist instead of going outside between joists.

At twenty years old Gary could have pushed us into a new furnace. Instead he "healed" it through a relatively easy repair. He also diagnosed the furnace's functioning so that we know it is not exhausting excessive amounts of carbon monoxide and gave us a realistic picture of costs to replace and about when we can expect to replace the furnace. Then, because there was time available he checked out our other furnace at no additional cost. This is the second time we've called on his services and will again.

We waited too long so we are going to have them come out more quickly. We had a coupon. It was 1 person and there was nothing dirtied up. He was cleaning out the furnace so he cleaned up everything. It took somewhere between 1 and 2 hours.

Igor did a great job installing a new furnace and A/C and even a better job in following-up with us to make sure everything is working smoothly. His price was fair. We are very happy with his service. Thank you, Igor.

He arrived on time and was very nice. Pleasant working with him. He did a thorough job and bled one of my radiators I was having troubles with. Very professional. Definitely will use this service again.

    Capital Heating & Cooling
Excellent. We agreed on a time / date. I received a phone prior to the scheduled time notifying me that serviceman would arrive on time. All my questions were answered and the installation and clean-up were professional.

It went very well. It took two visits to troubleshoot. First visit a new capacitor was installed since existing one was going bad. Fan stopped working again during the night. Next visit a new blower motor was installed due to a faulty switch. Everything is working well so far.

    Capital Heating & Cooling
The Honeywell continuous retry s8610u part is approximately $100 new and the work to replace it is approximately 1 hour of labor.  With my estimate of $680, I asked how the price could be justified.  The service technician called the service manager who said they would throw out the $90 diagnostic charge and do the work for $680 complete. I asked how that price could be justified given even a 100% markup on the part,  and an excessive 2 hours of labor at $125 would  total only $450.  The $680 price seemed unjustifiable. Therefore, I called the office and asked for the service manager to explain how the cost of the service fix could possibly reach $680.  The service manager was never retrieved to have a conversation with me about this and instead the receptionist explained to me that they would not adjust the price and that I had a right to pay the diagnostic charge and decline the work.  I explained that I was very disappointed that the cost could not be broken down for me and that it was very excessive and that I would write as much in my Angie's Review, which I am doing here. When I declined the service, I asked the receptionist and service technician to have the service manager call me later with the cost justification.  If Capital does this, perhaps I will adjust my rating based on this conversation. At this point, I have not received that call.
In the end, if you are a cost conscious purchaser of services, I would strongly advise avoiding Capital Heating & Cooling.  Although their model could be an effective way to provide a fair price to both the service provider and customer, I strongly believe Capital uses this model to inflate the cost.  Although Capital may have performed the work well (I won't know this since I declined on cost), which perhaps is customers only goal when the heating goes out, if you want both great service AND A GREAT PRICE, look elsewhere.
