Home Security System reviews in Thiensville

FrontPoint Security is working very well for us. We installed it ourselves and it was piece of cake to do. It was really easy. He called the company and talked about our house. They were really helpful. They suggested what kind of sensors that we needed to put where. Whether we needed to do breaking glass censors or door, windows. They were very helpful. Once he had spoken to the  people at that point, they sent us the appropriate censors. My husband's not a handyman, it was easy. It was really self explanatory and easy to do. The directions are on the book. I would recommend wall mounting them, if you can. Depending on what kind of walls and things that you get. They'll give you a hard mount kit and I would recommend doing that, just because they could fall off the wall, if you live in a high humidity area, but if you hard mount them, they're fine. We haven't had any problems, except for them falling off, but we wall mounted them and they were fine. They've been good at calling us, like if an alarm accidentally trips. We get emails, texts and phone calls, if necessary. I remember my husband getting off the phone and saying, "Wow. That was easy." We liked them enough to recommend them to a friend.

I don't like them. They are supposed to call our numbers, and if they don't reach us, call back up numbers. They called the backup numbers looking for us but didn't mention that there was an alarm. So, the police came, of course. That is not the protocol that Brinks had. Brinks sold their alarm security business to ADT, and their service has changed since they did that. Instead of calling the backup numbers to say there's been an alarm, they called and asked if they knew where we were. Of course, they didn't know where we were. We were never told until we got a note from the police. The backup numbers didn't know why ADT was calling. Their service is mediocre.

Ever since moving into our house, we have been plagued with false fire alarms. ADT has been out to our house numerous times to inspect the system, but they can never find anything wrong with it. They have resorted to simply disconnecting individual smoke detectors to see if they stop, which if course means our home is not up to code. Also, when they replace equipment there is no guarantee you will get the same item. They recently replaced our carbon monoxide (CO) alarms which were at the end of their useful life (5 years). The new CO alarms were not the same size or shape as the old ones, which means we now have to repaint those walls to cover the old screw holes. Despite these problems, they have been very responsive. Just completely ineffective in fixing the problem.
