Door Installation reviews in Stoughton

My wife and I contacted Waunakee Remodeling to bid on a kitchen/bath/bedroom addition for our home.  We had previously used Waunakee Remodeling to do $20,000 in replacement windows and doors.  We did have issues with the door replacement which was ordered incorrectly and quickly installed while we were away at work.  After some discussion, they admitted the door had been incorrectly changed at the factory.  Given that they had made good on their previous mistake, we thought we would try them again.

I contacted them back in early March and was asked by Brian to call back and have someone else schedule him to come out - which, by the way, should have been my first clue as to how this would turn out.  I was told by the scheduler that Brian could come out a week later - in the late afternoon.  The day of the appointment, Brian called to see if I could meet him a couple of hours earlier since he was free and didn't want to wait if he didn't have to.  Since I was already taking time off from work to meet him, I wasn't able to.

Brian showed up and took a look at our plans and walked around the house a bit.  He seemed confused by the fact that we were already working with a professional designer and liked the layout we had come up with.  He didn't really take any measurements and did only a cursory look outside.  He then told us he would go back to the office and come up with a detailed estimate that would take approximately one week.  Three days later, we received an email with an estimate of approximately $235K - no details, no idea of the basis for it.  As estimated, the per square foot cost was over $500.

I sent a response back to Brian indicating that seemed more than a little extreme.  I never received a reply. That is the last time I have or will contact Waunakee Remodeling.

First, a disclaimer:  My sweetie and I rehab homes, so we are very familiar with contractor and trades practices, and we know what to look for and watch for.  From start through finish, working with THEBCO has been by far the cleanest, easiest, most exceptional experience that we've ever had.
Owner Steve explained every possible option and process with solid knowledge and understanding of his industry, suppliers, and his crew.  Mike who measures windows spent about 2 hours with us taking what I would classify as 'extreme' measurements.  The installers joked that as a result, windows seem to go into the openings with kind of a suction noise.  As it turns out, they were not kidding.  I have never seen an after-market product fit with such accuracy - AND - the first time.
The bow window itself is a work of craftsmanship beyond what we could have imagined, although exactly as promised.  After prepping the rough opening to perfect plumb and level, they installed ice and water shield, and stuffed insulation in areas that were not previously insulated.  It took a crew of 5 to carry and install the unit in place, then secure it to the rafters with stainless cables.
After that, the main crew of 2 guys finished the 7 double hungs and large slider over the next two days.  They had to significantly rebuild framing and replace rotted sills and sub-flooring from the old slider.  They re-set the slider in deeper to eliminate the water-catching that was happening with the old unit.  Of course everything was flashed and caulked to perfection.  And all of the THEBCO suppliers are providing top-notch product, which helps the situation.
The work required 3 full days to complete, exactly as promised, and the jobsite was kept exceptionally clean inside and out during the whole process.
It's obvious that everyone involved in this company enjoys what they do, and they do it with outstanding craftsmanship and professionalism.  Kudos to Steve for creating an environment that works and where people can express their considerable talents as well as they do.
I just cannot express the extreme satisfaction that we have with this job.  It's been almost 4 weeks since the install, and everything is setting perfect.  And, OMG - we can actually see through all the windows again.  If you're considering windows and doors in the Madison, WI area, look no further.

There are seriously not enough compliments in the English language for me to convey the supreme satisfaction that my wife and I have with the job that Jordan Exteriors performed on our home in October 2014.  From the initial meeting to the final day of work, it was an immense pleasure to have these individuals do our work.
The siding construction crew were courteous, friendly and extremely tidy, cleaning up their work at the end of every day on the job.  They were very skilled as well, and truly transformed the exterior of our 22-year-old home into one that looked brand spanking new, and I would also say, made it look far better than it originally did on its first day of existence.
The Amish, who did the carpentry work and the windows/door, were also courteous, friendly and extremely tidy as well, cleaning up their work at the end of every day on the job.  Moreover, they were meticulous in the work they did removing and installing our new windows.  You could not tell they were ever replaced.
Chris Jordan is the main person responsible for overseeing the job, and was a true pleasure with whom to work.  He was engaged and interested in every aspect of our job, and had great insight as we went along.  He also had great recommendations to enhance the project  and he never, on any occasion, made decisions without our consent.  He was in constant contact with us about the job.  He is, without a doubt, the best and most sincere contractor with whom I have ever worked.  He is totally committed to the customer and giving them only the highest quality outcomes possible.  He demonstrated that every day on our project.  If he said his crew were going to be on our job on a certain date, at a certain time, they were always there at that time.  We never worried about them not showing up, like has been the issue with so many other jobs with other sources we had in the past.  Chris not only made the job WAAAAAAAAAY easier than we ever expected it to be, but he really and truly made the overall experience very fun and enjoyable.  Never have we had any experience with other contractors come close to rivaling the fantastic, and seamless experience we had with Jordan Exteriors, via Chris Jordan.
I would recommend this team to anyone, any time, without reservation and would ask them first, above all others, to come back for any other such work i would need done.

Fantastic!!!  We are very satisfied with the quality of the windows and doors!  The installers were very experienced and got the job done in great time.  They quoted us three days for the work and they got it all done in two.  They did a great job at cleaning up after themselves.  I would definitely do more business with Genesis Exteriors.

We had worked with Chris before on a roofing job and were extremely pleased. It is not different on the exterior side of his interests. The windows are great and have cut down on street noise. They operate well, are green approved and are draft free even with some heavy winds as of late.

Dan and the rest of the Amish work crew were a pleasure to work with and clearly demonstrated the craftsmanship for which they are known.

A job well done at a reasonable price.

Greg is a perfectionist and an artist. He can build cabinets, build desks, and minor landscaping.
He tore down an old wooden deck for us and replaced it with a deck he built. He never took any shortcuts in the building process. If he ran into any problems, he would explain it to me and explain the extra costs. He will never do something without permission.

He also remodeled the living room. He hand built a wooden computer desk and mounted shelves on the walls that were all custom made. He installed a new front door, storm door, and all the windows around the house.

He loves to clean out basements and garages and organizes them. He cleaned out my garage, put shelves up, put things in labeled Tupperware containers, and installed insulation and drywall. He also cleaned and organized my basement and installed a new lighting fixture.

The best thing is how clean he is. He is a smoker but he never leaves a butt on the ground or smokes near the house. He never leaves a mess. There were some mistakes that were made in the building of my new home that I never noticed until he pointed it out. He was very intelligent and observant. He was very upfront and honest with his work and loves to make things custom. He won't leave until the job is finished.

Craig came and gave us an estimate to replace our front door the same day I called him. He told us the exact measurements of and what type of door to order. We went to Menards and picked out the style we liked. When the door was available to pick up at Menards we called Craig back to set up a time to have the door installed. Craig and his assistant were very professional, they knew what they were doing, and did an outstanding job. We will definitely call him back for future jobs.

When we called for an estimate, they set up an appointment promptly at a time that was convenient for us.  The presentation was very good, detailed and the salesman was able to answer our questions.  Because we had a limit on what we could afford to spend we had to revise our first estimate to not include the garage service door, and this seemed to cause some confusion with the office after the paperwork was filed.  When they sent us the revised contract to sign, several items were not as they should be.  We had to make several phone calls to the corporate office and send back 2 additional contracts until it was corrected.  We had been told it would be several weeks before the order came in and it could be installed.  We didn't hear anything and our phone calls to our sales person were not returned.  After about 5 weeks we called the corporate office and and were then able to schedule the installation,  Everything went very smoothly with the installation and the windows and especially the front door look great and are keeping out the cold air.

Initial contact with salesperson, Anthony Mollner, who came to our house and evaluated situation.
Then we went to Ganser Co. showroom and Tony showed us the options that we could use. He reviewed the pros and cons of the different products. We then were able to make an informed decision on Infinity windows and finalized contract. He was prompt, smart and very friendly.
Ganser staff then came to the house for final measurements and the windows were ordered.
When they arrived, arrangements were promptly made to do the installation. The 2 man Ganser crew arrived on the appointed day and quickly did the installations, staining and trim work. Upon completion they did an great job of cleaning everything up. The foreman, Trooper Moffet, then reviewed everything with me and noted the screen was a bit tight causing some bowing of the screen door. Plan was to rescreen the door.
Anthony Mollner came back to insure that everything was done to our specifications and will make sure the screen door is fixed.
I was very happy with our experience with the Ganser Company staff, products and the installation quality.
    Thank you.

We had several estimates for the various types of work we needed and chose Ralston because of Ryan's professionalism and responsiveness.  We did our homework and at some point the choice became obvious.  We had a lot of work done so we had a lot of questions and  Ryan was patient and responsive throughout the whole process.  Not everything went perfectly but you can't really expect it to when you have a lot of work done and the problems were mostly on the supplier end.  Ryan was very quick to resolve everything and never made us feel like our concerns were minor.  A couple windows and a patio door were shipped with minor blemishes and Ryan immediately switched them out without us even having to ask.  He was quick to issue credits for work not needed and very reasonable in his charges for extra's.
