Very good service and quality. All the gutters were measured for on-site and extruded right there in our driveway....so they were a perfect fit. The whole crew was quick and dependable, they made sure the job was done right. One year later the gutters work great, and no problems at all.

    Ken Duhr Roofing
He was very nice, came to the house with samples and measured the area.  He gave me a quote on the phone for materials and labor.  When I said I wanted a different kind of shingles than those he recommended, he was helpful with pros and cons of the shingles I was considering.  Then I asked whether I could purchase the materials myself, as I thought I would charge them to my card.  He was helpful, gave me a list of the materials needed.  Well I couldn't figure out half of it, so he went to the store and had a quote made up for me.  I purchased the materials direct from the store, so the price of $3000 is labor only.  His quote for materials was very close to what I paid, I only went that way for my own reasons.
The crew was quiet, friendly and worked with no problems.  They put down tarps and left no mess.  I have several skylights and they did a beautiful job around them as well.  They started on Thursday,  and worked Friday.  Then the weekend came, then Monday it poured, so it was finally finished on Wednesday.  It took a bit longer than expected, but the results are great!  I love the new roof.

UPDATE:  Spring of the following year there was leakage by the largest skylight.  I called him in a panic and he said he would be over to fix it when it wasn't raining.  He thought it was probably just a fold in the ice dam material.  He told me he would just come and fix it one day and then call to let me know he had done it.  It was a rainy spring, and I wasn't too concerned when I never heard back from him.  I left a message a couple months ago, and he did call back, but didn't have a time frame when he would get to it. However, it is now July, and I have not heard from Ken that he is planning to come fix it.  In the meantime, I have sold my house and I need this corrected before closing.  I left him another message today, and hope that he responds.

    Ken Duhr Roofing
I had never met Ken, only by phone contact. He was very prompt, and professional. He gave me a website to pick out shingles, kept me updated on when he would do the work and was very honest. As far as I know, he cleaned up and disposed of the old shingles. We have a caretaker that would have informed me if anything wasn't done properly and we were very satisfied with the work. Ken's price was very reasonable, but we had a slight problem with his quote. He offered to honor the contract, but I didn't think that would be fair (even with the error, his bid was still very reasonable), and we settled on paying for the extra materials, which was more than fair.....thanks Ken. I would highly recommend him and would use him again.

    Ken Duhr Roofing
Took roughly a week for an estimate. No problem. 3-4 weeks to start it?. Again no problem Two days to complete with a three man crew plus Ken.
Ken is very, very easy to deal with. He was onsite over 50% of the time working and overseeing the project. Ken was definitely in charge. He knew his stuff without question.
There were several minor issues with the roof once they started removing the shingles that Ken knew how to handle.
Only estimate I received was Ken's but I knew it was in the ballpark and it was clear at that time that Ken knew his stuff.
One observation and not a complaint. You're more than likely going to go to voicemail. It appears he has times when he returns your call. If you were on a roof would you keep your phone, pencil and paper with you? I sure wouldn't
    Only good things to say.

They took off all the old layers and redid the job. They were extremely efficient and uick. They came in the morning and were gone by the end of the afternoon. They were very clean and you could not tell that they were even working on the project. The roof work was fine and there were no problems. They also had great follow up.The price was great and we are very happy with their services.

    SKINNER CONSTRUCTION
We provide this information to help others avoid the horrendous experiences we had with Skinner Construction.

We hired a professional inspector to inspect the house.  He found 64 code violations.

The builder had a total disregard for the manufacturers? guidelines regarding product installation procedures.  The foam insulation board was exposed to the elements well beyond time limitations that were recommended.  Our kitchen countertops were not glued as instructed?instead joints were joined with silicon and hence the entire countertop needed to be replaced.  Our fireplace door was permanently cemented to the opening, which was against installation instructions, causing it to pop loose when expansion occurred when in use.  This needed to be redone.  Hearthstones were not installed according to manufacturers? instructions.   A window needed to be replaced because it warped due to it not being finished in a timely manner.  Not working with materials results in manufacturers? warranties being voided.  When we brought this to the builders? attention, he simply disregarded our concerns.  This is a builder who told us to back off?he knew what he was doing.  Obviously, he did not, and/or simply did not care. We have had to re-do many tasks?especially  applying the appropriate number of finish coats to interior trim and filling thousands of nail holes, which was extremely labor intensive.  Drywall needed more mud on seams and screw heads as they could easily be seen.  Due to the builders? lack of supervision of the electrical work, we had a number of ?mystery? switches?they controlled nothing.  Some of the lighting we wanted was not installed, necessitating the installation after-the-fact, which resulted in holes being cut into the finished drywall to run wires, therefore requiring significant drywall repairs.  This was totally avoidable if our plans were followed from the beginning.  Again, more issues caused by the actions of someone who refused to build this house in the manner in which we wanted?he knew best?NOT! We tried to work with Mark Skinner to correct the defective workmanship but the right-to-cure letters we sent to Mark were totally ignored.  We will need to spend thousands of dollars to correct his blunders and short cuts in order for us to get this house built to the original specifications.
