  • You don't have to call, you just go right on out. I have used them for about 4 or 5 years. I like that you can walk in and do your shopping all in one while you are waiting. I have been there enough that they key my information and they are just fast. They know what to do. Interacting with the staff is good. I think they do a really good job. I have never had any issues.

  • The work was completed on time and correctly.   My wife took the vehicle in to have them diagnose an AC problem, I called the Service Manager to confirm the part causing the problem; ordered an OEM replacement from SCION - when we took it in for installation, it was NOT the correct part, so I had to order a different one - the extra time span resulted in my wife making a 300 mile round trip without the AC during a very hot stretch of weather......We are hoping this situation was just a rare glitch!
    We have used Birdnow Chevrolet in Monona, Iowa for almost 15 years, and have generally received excellent service at a reasonable price from friendly and professional people. We kept returning primarily because of the expertise and "extra mile" service from Bob Wagner, Becky Roe and Craig Adam.
    There have been some changes recently, and only time will tell if the level of service and professionalism are retained.
    At this point, we would feel reasonably comfortable referring BIRDNOW CHEVROLET in Monona to anyone needing good service at a good price.

  • The vehicle had been towed to Smart Motors late on a weekend night, as the problem had occurred as we were passing through the Madison area on our way back home. We received a call from them with an estimate of $110 + tax on Monday, then got another call Tuesday afternoon, explaining that they had run into deeper problems, and requesting me to approve a revised estimate of $530. The diagnostic results indicated to me that the described work needed to be done, so I concurred.
    I asked them to notify me when the work was completed, which they did, at which time I advised them when I would be picking up the vehicle.
    From the performance of the vehicle and the appearance of the parts, I felt that the repair was of excellent quality - I did need to replace the catalytic converter a few months late, as they had predicted.
    I would feel confident using this facility for diagnostic and repair work in the future, but am not certain that this would extend to recommending them to others.
    When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, it took at least 10 minutes for anyone to even be acknowledged at the service counter - when someone finally did offer to help me, it was only to inform me that the paper work was not ready yet,; this in spite of the fact that the work had been finished for two days......what should have been a simple 5 - 10 minute in-and-out, took almost an hour! This should not happen in an operation of this size not for the hourly labor charge they impose m- MY TIME is valuable TOO.
    The environmental disposal charge was also quite inflated.
    Yes, I would definitely trust Smart Motors to diagnose and repair my vehicle; but I would also be prepared to pay a premium for the service. I would HOPE that the breach of service at checkout time would not be repeated.

  • My wife and I arrived for a scheduled Service Appointment - work on the vehicle was begun immediately. Relatives took us out for a meal and when we returned at the scheduled pick-up time, the vehicle was ready and the paper work all ready for processing.
    Both the Technician and the Secretary were very helpful, friendly and professional.
    We have had absolutely no problems arising from the installation, no peripheral damage during installation and it is almost impossible to tell that that it is not the original windshield.
    I would not hesitate to refer this facility to anyone needing auto glass service .

  • Mr. Montalvo arrived precisely on time.  He inspected the car and took it for a test drive.  He made a very fair offer for the car and I accepted.  He left to go to the bank and get a cashier's check for my mother.  He was very professional and polite and the whole process was very easy and smooth.  I had taken the car to CARMAX for an estimate before contacting Mr. Montalvo but felt they were taking advantage of my situation when they gave me an estimate.  The price differential proves they were. 

    In any case, I deposited the check in my mother's account and thought that if I ever had another vehicle to sell, I would definitely contact him.  This is so much easier than advertising and dealing with a private buyer. 

    A few days later, Mr. Montalvo returned to my house because I had left a commemorative plate in the car under the seat.  When moving my mother to Florida, I had put it there for safekeeping and then forgot about it.  I certainly appreciated him taking the time to return it to me.

    If anyone out there needs to sell a car, I would highly recommend you give him a call.  He will come to your location, give you a fair price, and then pay you.  Easy!
