    Smooch a Pooch
Christen is a very responsible and compassionate animal care taker. I only trust certain people to watch our dog and Christen is one of them. I know that when Christen is caring for our dog, she is well taken care of and receiving a lot of attention and love. Christen has a great demeanor with animals and her love for them is evident. I highly recommend her for your animal's needs.

    Animal Hospital of Oshkosh
Dr. Heidi (and the rest of the docs) are AMAZING.  Their caring nature is simply outstanding.  Found this hospital 14 years ago when I wanted to change vets (long story) from our past vet.  We now see Dr. Heidi most often, and she is simply outstanding.
We have received call backs at odd hours (and emails at odd hours) as she herself often wants to share diagnosis of a pet.  She has worked diligently to identify an issue with our dog (Cushings Disease/thyroid).  Dr. Heidi is an outstanding vet that really cares for your pet, and helps to make tough decisions when needed.
    Five stars for Dr. Heidi!

    Animal Hospital of Oshkosh
Our cat lost a lot of weight and needed to be seen by our vet.  As always the service and care was great.  They're very empathetic to pet owners' worry and emotion.  We were seen promptly (had an appointment) and a good amount of time was spent examining and diagnosing our cat.  We felt well-informed and had a plan of action.

    N.E.W. Pawsibilities
These folks love dogs, know what they are doing and do it well. We have 3 dogs and bring every one of them to NEW Pawsabilities for one thing or another (day care, nail trims, boarding etc.) Have NEVER had a bad experience. They work tirelessly to find forever homes for dogs and cats, they do grooming, boarding and daycare and also sell some pretty unique cool things. Give them a try, you won't regret it!

    Dr. Samuel Vainisi
Dr. Vainisi is a world renowned veterinary Ophthalmologist.   We were referred to him by our local vet.  Dr. Vainisi examined our dog and showed us what he found  and explained to us what it was and what it was doing to her and what we needed to do.   She needed immediate surgery or she would lose her eye, the problem was that Dr. Vainisi wasn't scheduled to do surgery for 3 more days (she would have lost her eye) and also, his schedule was completely full.   He had a class to teach that evening, but asked us if we could stay until they closed (1 more hour) because he told us that he would cancel his class and perform the surgery after hours.   Our dog was in a great deal of pain and in danger of losing her eyesight.   We of course stayed to have the surgery done.   Halfway through the surgery, Dr. Vainisi came out of the operating room and  explained to us what he found and how he repaired it, he said that she did well and would be done shortly.    He was very loving and gentle with her the entire 4 months we saw him.
During the surgery my husband and I were discussing how expensive this was going to be and sort of preparing for the bombshell.  We estimated $2,500 for this surgery.  It was extensive (grafts and a repair to a previously botched
surgery by somebody else) in addition to it being after hours and unscheduled.    Well, I want you to know that our total bill was $800.00.   We had follow ups every Saturday after the surgery for 4 months, he gave us access to his personal email so that we could send him photos in between visits, and he was always available to answer any question we had by phone or/ would squeeze us in if we felt he had to see her before her appt.   We were NEVER charged another office visit after the initial surgery.  The only thing we ever had to pay for in addition to the original bill was for drops or salve.  Approx. $15 to $20.
Dr. Vainisi and his staff are amazing.   It is a very down to earth office (located on his farm - they raise Rd Deer and horses), it's clean, and run very, VERY efficiently.  We never had to wait, yet the office was typically full.   These folks know what they are doing, love what they do and I would definitely highly recommend Dr. Samuel Vainisi.  Our dog can see because of this great Dr.

Dr. Lorfeld and his staff were very accommodating to us. They examined our dog and determined that she had two eye ulcers that were previously undiagnosed by another vet in town. (I'll review them at another time). He gave us antibiotics and referred us to a specialist in Denmark, WI as this was an issue out of his specialty (we needed an ophthalmologist.) Dr. Lorfeld's quick diagnosis saved our dogs eyesight as the specialist immediately performed emergency surgery to save the eyesight. We were told that in one more day, she would have lost her eye, so we are very grateful to Dr. Lorfeld. In addition, Dr. Lorfeld's office helped us out a few days later with fitting us for another type cone so we did not have to drive all the way to Denmark for that, and he called us weekly for updates after the surgery by the other veterinarian. Both Dr. Lorfeld and his staff went over and above what we ever would have expected.
We also a few weeks later had one of our other dogs limping after chasing after a rabbit and Dr. Lorfeld diagnosed a broken toe. He was very gentle and loving toward our dog who was in severe pain. He also showed us the xrays and went over our options, suggesting that we not wrap (because it was winter and we would have to come to his office weekly to have it re-wrapped). Instead we were advised to keep her calm and / or kenneled until it healed. In this instance, it would have been to his benefit to wrap because we would have had many office visits to pay afterward. I really feel that he was suggesting what was best for our dog and our family, rather than looking to see how much money he could make. Here again, we were called for progress reports and also asked if we had questions.
I would highly recommend Dr. Lorfeld and his staff. The office was nice and clean, there is adequate parking, Dr. Lorfeld and the office staff is friendly and professional and our appointments have consistently been on time. We really feel that Dr. Lorfeld loves what he does and he does it well.

    Lakeside Animal Hospital
They do a pretty good job. One of my cats has a reoccurring, respiratory condition that they haven't been able to do anything about so I'm going to go to a different vet to see if there's anything they can do. We really like them though and they've taken care of several issues with my cats.

    Animal Hospital of Oshkosh
It's been wonderful. The staff, the doctors, and the commitment to the animal are great. I think they're the best place to take an animal that has any kind of diseases because they do go the extra mile. They're a little higher than the other animal hospitals in the area but they can do lab work on the premises which is very good because you can get the results faster.

    Care Hospital For Animals
Their price was reasonable to low. They take the time to answer questions. They're very good with the animal and very caring with the animals. Technically, they're very confident. I've used their services for many years.

The visit was a terrible and somewhat humiliating experience. We had a sick kitty and we came to his office with some information that was printed and highlighted from some websites. The goal was being able to work together on this, but he didn't like that.
Well, he got very PO'ed about the literature. Apparently he felt insecure like we were questioning him when that wasn't the case at all. He had other snide responses to other comments we had, but what he was clearly angry about was the literature. It was not like we were challenging him, because it was our first ever (and, I believe only) visit.
In fairness, at some point he did admit something like he came on too strong. Not an apology, but something, I guess.
I don't fault him much for the wrong diagnosis. The next vet we took that cat to blew that as well.
