    High Quality Contracting Inc
There are not enough good words to say about Nick, High Quality Contracting's owner. His professionalism, open communication, courteousness, and knowledge far exceeded my expectations. Nick completed my huge home project in a very timely manner and hired only the highest quality professionals building architect, electrician, HVAC professional, plumber, etc. Nick kept me updated during the construction/remodel regarding the workers coming into my home and set the expectations; he was always conscience of the cost and helped save money by giving excellent alternatives with every purchase. Nick is very easy to work and his vast knowledge allowed him to provide excellent and trustworthy recommendations. My home is absolutely beautiful, I am thrilled with the results! Nick did such a tremendous job three of my friends hired him to complete work in their home. The name of Nick's company High Quality Contracting says it all. He truly has Craftsmanship You Can Trust. HomeSealed Exteriors, LLC

We hired HomeSealed to replace the windows of the second half of the house, after they installed the first half (see my review dated December 27th, 2014.

Pros:  HomeSealed did their usual good job of having a clear and understandable quote.  They also did the expected great job of removing the old windows and doors and installing the new windows and doors.  They arrived as scheduled on March 25th.  The installation team also does a lot of "little/extra things" that add up to great quality and customer service.  They also never try to sugar-coat a situation or tell you that something that is not good is "industry standard" like some other contractors. They are completely honest and will always do the right thing.

Cons:  Although they said that the patio door was ordered correctly, it arrived backwards (opening on the wrong side).  After our last installation, with multiple windows being incorrect, we were less than happy, especially knowing that our house would again be in "quasi-construction mode" for another several weeks.  The blessing was that we were not told that the "standard" patio door has a 2-1/4" high rail that runs where you would walk through the door.  No one in any sane universe puts a 2-1/4" high rail through an egress point!  Our existing door had no rail, and no doorway I have ever gone through has such a rail. Thankfully, they had to replace the door, and so we paid extra to get an ADA door with a flush jamb.  I could spend pages explaining in detail all of the problems that the rail caused in the weeks that we had to live with it while we were waiting for the replacement.  HomeSealed needs to make homeowners aware of differences like this (our original patio door had a flush jamb, which was not a special order).

Other issues:  Our front entrance has a very large door/sidelights/window combination unit.  When it was ordered, HomeSealed may have missed, or not realized how the original unit was constructed versus how the new window is/would be constructed.  The new combination unit was constructed differently, which means that our blinds could not be mounted the same way.  It took some fancy construction work on my part to create the necessary features so we could mount our blinds.  Also, the installation team seemed very tired by the end of that day and just put a huge bead of caulk to fill in the gap between the arched wood molding and the wall.  The caulk also completely covered the edge of the arched molding.  Since we have textured walls, and the arch is clearly visible from our open loft, it really looked awful.  I had to dig out all of the caulk, sand and re-stain the molding edge, and then plaster the gap to match the rest of the wall.

While there were problems, and I am sure that if I had called, HomeSealed would have gladly taken care of the things that I did myself (I felt it was just easier and faster to do them myself and get the results I wanted), HomeSealed treated us professionally, and did the right thing without any type of argument or hassle.

Bob came over very soon after calling him for an estimate. Bob was a very punctual  and a polite person to work with. He listened to my concerns and than proceeded to  up with a plan. He is very knowledgeable and explains the work that needs to be done. Since this room had been semi started years ago, it was a little more problematic. But Bob explained how he would proceed and why he would do it this way. The ceiling needed special attention to start off with. Because there was lathe up there already from many years ago, he wanted to use metal lathe over this to assure no cracks would form in the future. A special bonding material also had to be used on the ceiling. Blue board was used on the side walls and than everything received a coating of plaster and then finish plaster. Bob made great efforts to keep the dust under control and the house clean. The stairs were covered with cloth and the bedroom had been covered as well.  Plastic was used to cover the doorway to help keep everything clean.  His cleanup was wonderful!!  I am very pleased with the outcome of this job. The plastered walls look beautiful. Bob had his son working with him on this job. Both of these men are very easy to work with and would definitely have them back if I ever needed help again.

This job took approximately 6 days and was completed within the timeframe given to me.

    Frisch Drywall
Mike was very accommodating in scheduling our project.  He arrived promptly and after seeing the areas needing repair he got right to work.  He was polite and neat, keeping the dust and mess to a minimum.  His repairs were just what we needed and turned out great.  I would definitely recommend Frisch Drywall to anyone needing drywall work done.

Dave is very enjoyable to work with.  He's friendly, professional and enthusiastic.  We hired him to do a couple things and once he started coming, we found more and more things that he could help us with (those projects that we never would have gotten around to ourselves!)
The work was done over a few partial days, but it wasn't an issue because we weren't in a big rush. Everything he did was thorough and top notch.

    Primary Painting & Drywall
I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service.  I contacted Sam, who was very prompt in coming over and taking a look at the problem.  He told me how he would go about repairing it, about how long it would take, and that the final bill would likely be over and above what the Big Deal coupon would cover.  Sam advised me that, due to a multiple-step process that would take several days, and the fact that the room would be covered with protective plastic while the work was being done, I would need to "move out" of my bedroom during the work.  I appreciated this as it allowed me to move the things I needed into my guest room.  Sam and his crew arrived promptly, were always courteous and cleaned up well after they were finished (Sam even Swiffered my kitchen and dining room floors before leaving, in order to clean up any plaster dust left behind!!)  Most importantly, my bedroom ceiling looks like new!  Very pleased.

    Walter Belau Plastering

Mr. Belau timely responded to my inquiry for a quote.  He arrived on time to view the work and had a quote to me in several days.  After the quote was accepted, we set a date for the work to begin.  The work began on a Monday and ended on Wednesday of the same week.  He was very careful and neat in the work preformed.  Everything was cleaned up upon completion of the job.  He did what he quoted and made sure I was satisfied before packing/cleaning up.

They did a very good job. They were here when they were supposed to be here. They did the job the way they were supposed to and stood by their price. They had someone else paint when they were done and I don't know the sub-contractor's name but they also did a good job.

    Walter Belau Plastering
Walter promptly returned my call, came on time for the estimate (he does estimates on Saturdays) and was able to start the job within a few days. He spent five meticulous days repairing EVERYTHING; even cracks I didn't know I had! I had one bad spot in the kitchen where previous owners tried to cover an old milk door. It looked terrible, but I said he didn't need to include it since I was trying to keep the cost down. He even repaired that and it looks great! He arrived each day on time (even early) and always had everything cleaned up and the house locked up when I got back at night. I was referring him to friends and neighbors before he was even finished with the job! Hopefully I won't need to repair more plaster anytime soon, but I would definitely use Walter again!
