    AB&K Bath & Kitchen Inc
Be VERY careful when considering this "company." We hired them to remodel our master bathroom. First, they did not seal off the bathroom so when demolition started, the inside of our house was covered in a thick coating of dust. The tiling looked like someone did it who had never tiled before. Tiles were installed chipped, broken, tilted, incorrectly cut, and on and on. When this was brought up to the owner, Jeff Klement, assured us that it would be corrected and yes, they attempted to correct their horrendous, hack job installation and actually made it worse. I gave them multiple, multiple attempts to correct their work and finally kicked them out. The job which should have taken about 8 week lasted just shy of 6 months why I finally cut their lock box off my front door. They chose to store their equipment on our bed and new master bedroom rug without any protection which ruined the rug. Also, on demolition, they cracked our bedroom hardwood floor. Fast forward 10 months from when I fired them. Many tiles in the master shower had separated and popped up. The tile job on much of the bathroom floor was not laid correctly and many of the tiles were moving and creaked when walked on. Our shower was and is a steam shower. Mold was found beneath their tiling because they did not install any type of vapor barrier which is needed in a steam shower. This is where it gets interesting. The AB&K contract has a "warrantee" which on our contract, was good for 2 years from the date of signing. If their terrible tiling had not failed and separated, we would not have known that they failed to install any vapor barrier for, according to our contractor, 2-3 years when mold would have shown through the drywall. Also be aware that if you do have a problem with their work, in their contract it stipulated that all disputes must go through NARI mediation. AB&K is a NARI member. This is analogous to suing a doctor for malpractice and having the medical board mediate the case. In other words, this is a rigged system. All in all, this was a nightmare experience. BE VERY CAREFUL when thinking of hiring this group. They had agreed to refund money and never did. Our master bathroom had to be demolished and redone and AB&K did nothing to resolve the problem except offering to try and do it over and over and over. At what point would anyone that hired a company like this, who screws up a job over and over and over tell them to leave? You have been warned. Don't be as stupid as we were. I also have MANY pictures.

In the end we were very happy with the result. The crew that did the work was very attentive to quality and do great work. Our only complaint is that the schedule was overly optimistic and the project ran more than a month past our target date. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again though.

Joe Kelly along with his team did a fantastic job! I could not be happier with our beautiful remodel. Our foreman, Steve is an incredible craftsman! The tile work is perfect. Joe was easy to work with, always kept us up to date on timelines and responded to texts and calls immediately. I will definitely use 3K Construction for any future home improvement needs.

We hired them to do a pretty simple kitchen remodel - remove cabinets, replace with new ones - all appliances, plumbing, etc was staying in the same place. We even came in with an idea of the types of cabinets we were thinking of and a rough idea of what we wanted the kitchen to look like. We have moved a number of times over the past few years and built new or renovated kitchens 4 times. We have never had an issue prior to this. They were very responsive and nice until we signed a contract - which seemed very high but was supposed to include a number of extras (design services, lighting design, floor work, etc) Within weeks we realized we had made a huge mistake. The "design" services was us going in to their location and without any assistance or feedback other than "whatever you like is what matters" having to select all of our finishes and design it ourselves. The lighting design was basically the same and the person they sent said they don't do any design at all and didn't understand why we were told that. The floor repair person used the wrong color on the patches and we had to end up refinishing the entire floor - but not through them as the quote to fix their mistake was going to be nearly 2x any other floor refinisher... On top of that - they took the rough idea I had given and didn't bother to measure it and see if it would actually be the right size in our space (Spoiler: it wasn't and we lost our seating on the bar because they ordered the cabinets too wide for the space). When we brought it up during the cabinet install WE were blamed because we provided them an idea of what we were thinking (at their request) and they refused to fix it. One thing after another was an issue - from the cabinets being installed on our wall not centered to them just not responding. The cabinets we paid a substantial upcharge for were not what was installed - we instead got the lower priced ones but had to pay for the upgrade anyway as they claimed these were the upgraded version. They didn't finish a number of items in our kitchen after they missed the initial deadlines and instead of correcting it, they fought and argued and then ignored us for months before threatening to take a lien out on our home for non payment of the final 10% balance. We had to remind them again that we still didn't even have a kitchen finished 9 months after the scheduled completion date and had to contact an attorney ourselves. To top it off, they lied to contractors about us telling them we were not responding and not paying and refusing to let them in to work and the owner and "designer" who I can only assume is someone's relative - didn't understand how to communicate at all and if you asked them questions or held them accountable on things they put in writing they just wouldn't talk to you for weeks or pretend you didn't say anything. A little over a year later the electrical and plumbing work they did have had issues and we have had to bring in someone else to fix and repair things we told them weren't working correctly at the time (but we were told we didn't know what we were talking about or being "picky") - the plumbing issue actually ended up ruining the cabinet. But guess who didn't bother to respond or care when notified of the issues? The sad thing is - some of their crew is unbelievably talented and amazing and the work that gets done when the owners aren't around is good. If the crew left and went on their own I'd hire them in a second - but I can't on good conscious ever refer Rick and the "design" team there to any one else at the prices they charge and the lack of professionalism and organization they have. Save your money and go to ikea. It is actually a better quality than what I got.

Bob gives special attention and addresses any issues dealing with the expediters. They were very good in working out an issues with our tiles by hand picking the correct ones. They acknowledged our concerns without glossing over them. I will definitely recommend and use them, again.

    C.A. Daniels Construction
the workmanship and professionalism were outstanding. I have hired a lot of contractors over the years and this was the best experience I've ever had.  I can't say enough good things about them. Chuck had good practical ideas.  He was great at assessing the situation and coming up with solutions. He was also very realistic about the time frame and the cost. There were no big surprises and he has a great crew. They all get along and clearly enjoy working as a team
we couldn't have asked for more and are so pleased with the end results

    Reality Construction LLC
Very happy with the work Reality Construction did on our bathroom.  From the initial meeting through the completion of the project Mike and Gina were great to work with.  From helping pick out all the cabinets, granite, sink, fixtures to being responsive to answer questions or concerns we had as our project moved along Mike and Gina were honest and available and kept us in the loop on the status of the progress in our bathroom remodel.  Our project was completed on time, Mike and the sub-contractors were neat around our house, and there were no hidden costs.  The finished result turned out great and we are very pleased with our bathroom.

I purchased the vanity, wall cabinet, mirror, faucets (sink and shower), most of the tile for the shower surround and backsplash, light/fan/nightlight, . I did not have the floor re-tiled as the floor was in okay condition.
I got the feeling that my bathroom was worked on in between the contractors other jobs. The original start date was August 3, 2015 and the end of the project was in October sometime.
The tile person that the contractor used did a professional job on the shower surround but a terrible job on the backsplash. The grout was missing and obviously thin. The vanity top I agreed to use was finished on three sides. I did not realize that the edge that would be next to the wall would be hidden by the backsplash being built up at the bottom to hide it. The angle was obvious and looked like a mistake.
The mirror, instead of being mounted flush on the wall, was partially over the backsplash. The low mirror prevented you from using the faucet stopper.
The shower rod was mounted so low that my daughter stood in the tub, she could look over the rod.
The paint job was adequate. No nail holes were filled or even light sanding included in the price. There are still small holes here and there on the walls. But the $4999 bathroom did not include any extras.
The old fan in the bathroom was mounted on the wall. I purchased a new one for the ceiling that had a light and nightlight. The electrician only hooked up the fan. It's rather inane to assume that I would pay extra for  a light and nightlight but only want the fan to work. I had to ask the contractor to have the electrician come back and complete the job. Two visits from the electrician costs more than one.
I made a list of the corrections that needed to be made. The contractor came out and repaired/made changes. All was finally completed.
I assumed I would be contacted about the fan hookup, and the faucet and the other off installations instead of having weirdness done.  I had to see the incorrect work and request the changes. I didn't think I had to make very exacting requests for satisfactory work. I'm not a professional but I know when something looks wrong.
This bathroom refinish was done in Wisconsin, I live in the Chicago area. I was not able to check on the work as it was done.
The bathroom looks fine but I do plan on repainting. The tile looks good, the mirror correctly positioned so the faucet stopper can be used, the fan/light/nightlight works, the backsplash angle removed and vanity top edge neatly hidden.
