AThe KeyBetter than expected. Steve at The Key inc. was referred to us by a previous customer and friend. Steve responded to our inquiry right away and came over for a free estimate within a couple of days. We got 3 estimates and although Steve wasn’t the cheapest he spent the most time explains the differences in product quality as well as workmanship details in the siding process. We gave him the job based on his knowledge and the referral. Steve was very detailed in the process and kept the job sight clean during the whole process. He even worked in the rain a couple of days to stay on schedule. He even did a nice unexpected detail on our gable peak that covered up an old eye sore. It wasn’t in the quote and he never charged extra, he just cares that much about each job and the final product. We had our 3 season porch sided a few years before by another company and the level of details around the window trim and corner was night and day better. He caulked every seem and hole from gas lines etc thoroughly. We were very happy with the quality and craftsmanship of the project. It’s harder and harder to find guys that do this kind of work these days, especially at competitive pricing. We strongly recommend Steve at The Key Inc in Brookfield. John and Kellie. ACallen Construction IncThe sales process was very thorough and professional. Communication of the job process was very helpful to prepare us how the process would work. Installation crew was very efficient and clean. Since we installed in winter, were worried about the elements getting in, but the crew put up a plastic barrier that allowed the house to retain it's heat and keep it clean. Overall process took about 4 hours, so pretty quick. Didn't find one scrap in the yard to know they were even there. The painter came a few days later and matched the current trim perfectly and the door ended up looking amazing. We love it and thought Callen was very professional and good. They are pricey compared to other, but the patio door we feel was superior to others and nicely insulates out house.- Ryan F.

CWe’ve worked with JJB Home Improvements (Jeff) on a number of projects at our home since 2006; totaling more than $20K of work. They were always prompt, and we were always satisfied with their work. I contracted again with JJBHI (Joe) last summer of 2019 to remove & replace 2 insert windows with screens, and the replacement of some beveled cedar siding. Without our knowledge, JJBHI substituted a different vendor for our windows, and they did not provide screens like we had asked for and paid for. I ended up having to locate the supplier, and purchased the screens myself this past July/2020. The majority of the siding work was done in the dark with “flood lights”, and a very small section of the siding was overlooked (see image below, 2 courses above top of left window). I made numerous attempts via emails and phone calls this past Dec./2019 with JJBHI regarding the above, with no response to date. I also made two written requests via USPS, asking JJBHI to reimburse us for the screens, but have not received a response from Jeff or Joe. I would classify this as JJBHI being “penny wise and dollar foolish”; especially since I have more work to do, the screens X2 were only $80 – COST, and “word of mouth can be your best and worst form of advertising”. Sadly, and mistakenly: 1) I gave JJBHI a 60% down payment, waited more than 3 months for them to show up, and 2) I didn’t retain 3% - 5% of my final payment because I had worked with JJBHI (JEFF) in the past, I didn’t think it was necessary, and I trusted them – BIG MISTAKE.

Project finished on time and in budget. Quality work, fair price and a great team to work with.
