Tile Installation reviews in Menomonee Falls

2nd Life Home Repair & Remodeling Services LLC
This was extremely disappointing for us. We went with 2nd life in large part due to their positive reviews on Angie's list. I wanted to post this review, along with photographic evidence, so that nobody else has to go through the same thing we did.
Full disclosure, they did provide a discount of about $450 when all was said and done. That being said, we still paid $2,700 for a job very poorly done. We are now having a tile contractor rip out and reinstall the shower surround, which will cost an additional $1,400.
A brief outline of the shoddy finishing:
-The faucet switch was not even screwed on all the way. I had to fix this myself.
-There was no silicone placed around the faucet switch or faucet. Any decent handyman knows to do this. I had to do this myself.
-The shower arm was not threaded with enough plumber's tape, causing leaking into our basement after a few days. I had to fix this.
-The shower surround was installed at a crooked angle, clearly shown in the photo below.
-There was no caulking done along the upper/outer edge of the shower surround. I had to do this myself.
-There was no caulking done between two edges of the tub surround (the pieces required finishing with caulk to seal the edges). I had to do this myself.
If you want the job finished sloppily and without care, hire this company. They clearly subscribe to the "mine over matter" saying - if it's not mine it doesn't matter.

    Quality Restoration LLC
Bob and his crew did a fantastic job restoring our huge brick porch in front of our home.  It looks like it did originally!  I am thrilled since this is an important feature to our home!  Everything matches the original colors and the grout lines are clean and neat.  Most importantly it is solid and will be for many more years.  Finally, Bob was in our neighborhood this summer when I was outside.  He made sure to stop by and check on the porch!  How's that for service!

Art Tile & Stone Work LLC
The job went very well. Due to bad weather Art couldn't get to the job site during the week so he actually worked the weekend to do the job. I was impressed because I haven't seen any other Milwaukee trades show that level of commitment and service. The work was very well done. Art even let me watch, ask questions and he gave me a lot of pointers on how to do ceramic tile work. I'd hire this guy again in a heartbeat.

Cream City Tile & Bath Remodeling
Jeff responded very quickly and visited us to survey the work to be done in the master bath. He provided a quote within a week and his price was very reasonable. We accepted and Jeff started work on a Monday by ripping out the old tile down to the studs in the bathtub area. He insured that the walls were squared and installed the cement board in the tub area. He also removed the toilet and the vinyl tile we had on the floor. Cement board was also installed on the floor of the master bath.  The next day Jeff proceeded to install the ceramic tile in the bathtub area including two shelves. On the third day he completed the installation in the tub area and started the floor in the master bath. He finished 3/4's of the floor prior to leaving for the day. On the fourth and final day he completed the floor tile installation and grouted the tub and floor, caulked,  reinstalled the toilet, trimmed the door, installed the bathroom fixtures and completely cleaned the tub and floor area. He cleaned the bathroom and it was spotless when he left. Jeff is very knowledgeable and hard working. We are very happy with the work and would hire him again. We will recommend him to all our friends.

    BATH AND KITCHEN SPECIALISTS, INC
We had met with several potential places to perform our work as this was the first major renovation we have ever done. After comparing the amount of time spent with us, truly listening to our concerns and providing us with what we wanted, and providing it at the best cost made this a very easy selection for us.
Kim, the designer is amazing. She had a ton of ideas when she visited our home and made it a truly positive experience. The actual "design" took over 8 hours at the office to make sure that every little detail is planned out ahead of time. We were exhausted at the end of the day. However, without doing that, you can easily see where remodeling projects get out of hand and end up costing a lot more dollars and time. The cost also remained within the original quote (we made a few minor adjustments for a couple hundred dollars at our own choosing).
An estimate of the time for the project was provided. Dan and Mark performed the actual work. They were great, kept us informed and did fabulous work. The site was kept clean which was tough considering there was a lot of snow outside. They also finished at the lower end of the time projection that was provided to us which was great as I had to go on a business trip and wanted to have this wrapped up.
After the work was completed, a detailed walk through occurred for us to make sure we were happy with the work, to ask questions and to advise how we were to take care of all of our new products. This was extremely helpful. Within a month or two, we had a minor fix that was needed. Dan came out and took care of it right away.
We also had a few more questions in the past month and spoke with Gordon, 11 months past the project date, and Dan again came out and answered our questions, and made a couple of minor adjustments. We are confident that if something comes up, we can continue to ask questions or have someone out if needed.
We are so pleased with our results (and everyone that comes through is very impressed), that we will probably look at a kitchen remodel in 2015.

    Kitchen Krafters LLC
The main reasons we went with Roger at Kitchen Krafters is that he had great suggestions for our remodel and his detailed proposal.  He brought to our attention things that we never thought of and that other remodel companies never brought up.  We really liked how he took the time to make sure we picked out things we really liked.  He even met us at the granite shop and helped us pinpoint what we wanted.  He personally installed the cabinets and trim which are beautiful.  The painters, electricians, plumbers and tile installers were all very nice to work with.  Another great thing about Roger is that he has high standards on how things should be done, so he doesn't have a problem bringing people back to make sure things are perfect.  He is quick to respond to any problem  you may have and to fix it. He met our deadline for our remodel and we really are enjoying our new kitchen.

    Connor Remodeling & Design, Inc
Information was informative. It was great dealing with Conner, although only in a preliminary manner. Due to extensive work required, decision was made not to move forward with extensive project/addition until we decide on following through or listing home for sale.

Heinrichs Custom Tile & Stone LLC
He did a fabulous job, we are very happy and will use him again if we have any tiling needs.  He explained to us what he was going to do, before doing it, and made sure we were going to be happy with the result.  He also provided us with examples of where the previous contractor's work was already failing should we have to go to court.

    BM TileWorks
That went fine. We had some difficultly with scheduling, as far as finding the tile that he was supposed to use, but that could have been on my end. He did do some work on another part of the house too. He worked the full 4 hours. He was good at arriving on time.

    PRAVA Design Build
We recently had ceramic tile flooring installed in a bathroom and couldn't be happier with the results. The new floor is beautiful and the workmanship is high quality. Both Daniel and Luis are great people to work with, friendly and professional. We would recommend Prava Tile to anyone needing tile installed.
