  • The whole experience went extremely well. I was very impressed with everyone involved, from LaRae who did the moving estimate, to Keegan, Ty, and Mike who did the loading and unloading. To complicate matters, due to some unexpected closing hiccups, we had to make several changes to our delivery date. Everyone was understanding and worked with us as well as possible. Moving is a stressful, often horrible experience, but this was made a stress-free as it could possibly have been. I am very happy and impressed. Great job!

  • The movers did an excellent job of packing, loading and unloading. We did have some minor damage to a few items, but they were repaired. It did take some prodding and follow up on our part but they were resolved.

  • The movers were efficient and generally careful with the pieces.  It would have been nice to have a little more time to make decisions regarding where furniture is placed in the new home so that I didn't need to move furniture by myself after they left.  They did however work very hard to move the furniture quickly.

  • These guys are awesome!  Highly recommended.
With growing piles of remodeling waste building in the basement, yard, and garage I was looking to rent a dumpster rather than try to drag it all to the landfill over a dozen trips.  Stumbled across these guys here on Angie's list and gave them a call.  For less than the cost of the rental dumpster, they sent a truck and three cheerful, strong young men.  Three hours later all the garbage was gone and I was able to keep working from home the whole time.  No dumpster clogging the driveway for a week; no time wasted filling it myself.
As an added bonus, they removed an old and very heavy upright piano from the basement (with advance warning).  When they couldn't move it up the stairs intact, they asked if it was OK to demolish (it was) and then set about with sawzall, crowbar, and sledgehammer to break it down.  It took about an hour and a half for two guys to take care of the piano while the third loaded most of the other junk.  The bill was not itemized, but the stated cost of the piano removal was only an extra $75!  I'd been calling movers for two years trying to find someone to take this thing off my hands and couldn't find anyone willing to do the job for any price due to the basement location and difficult stairs.
The three young men were very polite and personable.  They checked back with me often to make sure they were getting the right stuff and not missing anything.  And at the end they made sure everything was cleaned up, vacuumed, wiped floors, etc.  Very well done!
I will definitely hire these guys again in the future.

  • Someone came to my home to get an accurate estimate.  The actual price
was spot on.  They were on time, easy to work with and friendly.  All of
my belongings got to my new home  without a scratch.

  • They did an in house quote which is the only way I feel confident choosing movers. The quote was very competative and they included the second smaller truck at no additional charge. They honored a 10% off coupon from Angie's list as well which was great.
On moving day, the crew was supposed to leave Verona at 7 and get to my house in Cottage Grove by 7:35am. They were at least 10-15 min late but quickly made up for it. They were professional, protected the house and worked hard. They didn't take too many breaks which I appreciate since they are paid hourly. They finished under budget which was great. I was expecting around $1,400 and after discount it was a little over $1,100.
I would recommend them to others.

  • Bottom line: The move itself went great but the weight and time estimate was terribly off. We ended up paying 150% what we were quoted, much more than we expected.

Full story: We hired Reynolds to move just our furniture to our new house, about 1 mile. (We had already moved all of the smaller items and boxes.) Reynolds' estimator came to our rental house and saw all of the furniture to be moved, itemized it, and gave us a quote. The quote was similar to others we'd received, and we went with Reynolds because they had generally good reviews.

Day of, the move went well but it became clear early on that the time estimate was WAY under-done. The two movers were prompt, professional, friendly and did a terrific job. They were careful with our belongings and nothing broke. I felt so badly for them, though, because they had been sent to our house for a 7 hour job and it ended up being 11.75 hours. They were exhuasted by the end. They stated that this poor estimation happens all of the time and they had no idea how the estimator could have possibly scheduled just 2 guys for 7 hours for this move.

When we got our bill it was of course high so we called to find out how the estimate could have been so far off. We compared the list of items to be moved vs. what was moved and it matched up. However, the total weight was much more than estimated. The estimator was unsympathetic and gave multiple excuses for the bad estimate, none of which made sense. We weren't able to get our price reduced.

It seems to me based on the comments of the moving crew that this happens a lot, and Reynolds' refusal to admit a mistake or come down on price that either they are terrible at estimating or they intentionally lowball estimates to get business.

  • It went pretty well. The 3 men showed up on time & worked pretty hard through the day. We have very heavy Amish-made solid wood furniture. All furniture was wrapped & protected. They laid down runners at the doorways. It was a little more than I was expecting, but the guys did a pretty good job. The only complaint is 1 of the guys dropped a box on our basement steps & dented the floor. We also ordered boxes. When I called to inquire about them, Roger came out & dropped them off himself within the hour.

  • It went smoothly as we had most of the stuff to be moved in living room and accessible

  • Fine, although as noted, we ended up choosing another company.
