    Adam and Pat are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I are first-time home owners, so we are still learning about how everything works in our home. We hired Adam and Pat to finish our basement and half-bathroom in the basement, completing drywall for the walls and ceiling, heating and air conditioning, and electrical concerns. They did a fantastic job! When it came time to make decisions about certain parts of the project, Adam would present us with several different options, so we could decide which way we wanted to go. He never told us what to do, but would offer his opinion as to what he thought would be the best way to go. He also tried his best to provide us with lower-cost options, and ways that we could save money on different products. Adam also noticed several other things going wrong in our house, that could have been potentially dangerous or caused our house to start on fire, and he was able to quickly fix them for us. He even stayed late one evening to help us with a plumbing issue, just out of the goodness of his heart.

Adam and Pat are great guys, and really thoughtful and helpful. We were so glad that we found them! We'll definitely use them again when we have future needs!!

We had a lot of questions and Chris Jordan responded quickly and patiently. We wanted a different window than the one he offered and he accommodated us (we wanted Simonton windows - following our job, Chris told me he has switched to Simonton). Once we signed the contract, the turnaround was pretty quick - a few weeks if I recall correctly. A three-man Amish work crew did the work, replacing all windows and trim in three days. The crew started on a Thursday and by Friday morning discussed with me whether they should continue tearing out and replacing windows or start putting up the new trim. I had them put up the trim in the living room and dining room on Friday as we have small children who might've started picking at the exposed drywall over the weekend. The guy running the crew (Dan) also put the window treatments back up on Friday afternoon so we wouldn't be without them over the weekend. I really appreciated that Dan kept checking with me to see if I was happy with the work.
The windows and screens are excellent. Jordan was by far the least expensive of the companies we got bids from. The price was for a full tear-out of the windows, including replacement insulation where needed. The price was for 18 windows of various sizes, plus trim, and a "Wisconsin" patio door. The price included wrapping of the windows in aluminum, and repainting of front porch trim to match the new color. The front of the house looks terrific now. We're very happy with Jordan's work and won't hesitate to work with Chris and Dan again.

Barlow Builders/Brad Barlow was recommended to me by a trusted vendor after I'd expressed frustration with the bid process and cost associated with another firm (whose estimate turned out to be 3x the finished cost with Barlow). She advised that Brad was honest, trustworthy, pleasant to work with, and did quality work at reasonable cost. I found this to be true--and additionally, he would discuss different options and associated costs for my consideration along the way, mindful of the original estimate he provided. He was cautious to warn that until complete tear-out, he wouldn't be able to precisely know what issues might lie beneath--but always had an eye to cost efficiences while knowing I didn't want to sacrifice quality, still in keeping with my modest home.
Though a small shop, Brad was sufficiently timely for my purposes (I had a second bathroom to use). I provided a deposit late April, took about a month to choose and have ordered tile/grout/trim arrive, got past Memorial Day holiday, and he was able to start the project mid June. (He's since taken on an additional worker). He communicated regularly regarding timing updates and project status--and if I ever had a question or needed to reach him, he eithered answered his phone right away or called back within the same business day. His employee, Jim, was very meticulous, attentive to detail, and pleasant to deal with. The work site was cleaned up every day before they left. They essentially treated my home with the care they would their own. One day when I was delayed getting home, the temperature outside had heated up, and the AC came on, Jim was kind enough to make sure all my windows were closed before he left--a courtesy that reflects who they are and how they operate.
Two things didn't work in their favor on the project, and yet they compensated fairly well. First, given that I wanted a decorative border with small insets, I should have employed a designer to create a detailed drawing to scale. Additionally, as the house was built in the 60's, there were a few "out of square" challenges. Both of these factors required in-process creativity on Brad's part which we negotiated to mutual satisfaction. With my own lessons learned from the project, I wouldn't hesitate to hire Barlow Builders again.

Ken came out today and installed our Larson hideaway screen door. My husband and I are so happy with the results! His associate that he came with was very kind and courteous as well. From the time I contacted Ken to the time they left it was top notch service. They even cleaned up after themselves which is always a plus. If you need a door installed do not hesitate to call Ken at Rock County Maintenance.

We recently hired Jordan Exteriors to replace 32 windows, siding, soffits, and gutters.  I wrote a lengthy review below and I would encourage you to read the entire review.  Jordan Exteriors did an amazing job on our home and I would highly recommend them to anyone.  I cannot say enough good things about Chris Jordan and his team.  You will not be disappointed if you hire Jordan Exteriors for your window or siding project.

We moved into a 30 year old home on Lake Waubesa two years ago.  We have a 3,000 sq ft home with 32 windows (half of which are facing the lake with four rows of windows).  When purchasing the house we knew that it needed quite a bit of work but we did not realize that the windows and siding would need to be replaced so soon.  A few of the windows started leaking during strong storms and wind that often comes off the lake and we knew that we needed to address the problem.

We begin by calling several well know window companies in Madison only to be disappointed by their pushy sales tactics and misinformation.  The further we got into our search, the more confused and overwhelmed we became.  That is when we turned to Angie?s list to see what companies has the best reviews.  Jordan Exteriors stood out above the rest as being the highest rated and having the most reviews.  I called Chris and got through to him right away and he made an appointment with me for the next day.  By the time Chris came to our house we already had 6 different companies bid the project.  We were not looking for someone to spend 3-4 hours at our home while they ?calculated? a price on the spot.  Chris spent about an hour with us explaining the different options we had and doing measurements.  He was never pushy and I could tell immediately he knew what he was talking about and had a lot of experience with windows and siding.

By the time Chris came to our house, we had decided to replace all 32 windows, 2 sliding glass doors (three panel doors), front door with sidelight and storm door, trim and extension jams, all of the siding on both the house and detached three car garage, soffits, fascia, and gutters.  He was able to get us written bids through email within 24 hours of meeting.  The bid was itemized so we could see how much each window was going to be as well as siding, soffits, fascia, gutters, gutter guards, trim and jams, etc.  His bid was very clear and detailed.  It also came in quite a bit lower than all of the other companies.  We changed our minds several times on the color of siding as well as whether to use foam insulated siding or not.  Chris was very accommodating by giving us new bids every time we changed our minds on color or siding brand/style.

He dropped off color samples several times during this process, which was very helpful.  He also offered for us to come to his home to see his siding, windows and doors.  We took him up on this offer and drove to Waunakee to see his home.  We were able to see the windows, doors, and siding, as well as meet Dan, his Amish business partner who does all of the window installation.  They were both very nice and answered a full list of 20+ questions we had for him.  We had looked at Alliance windows at ABC Supply earlier in the week and we could tell right away that the Earthwise Innovation windows were a much higher quality.

My wife and I discussed our decision and we easily decided to use Chris for all of the work.  We gave him a check for 50% of the windows and he did not require a deposit for the siding, fascia, or gutters.  He said it would be about 4 weeks for the windows to be made but he surprised us when they were ready in 2.5 weeks. Chris?s siding team started on a Friday and worked all weekend taking our existing siding down and wrapping our house in Tyvek home wrap.  They were very professional and worked extremely hard, including several 12+ hour days.  They cleaned up after themselves and took all of the old siding and materials with them.

On Monday, Dan and his Amish team (Lester and Richard) started the window installation.  This went very smoothly and they were experts at taking out the old windows and installing new ones.  Many of the windows were 15+ feet up and they installed them with ease.  We decided to go all the way down to the rough opening and install new construction windows with J channels built onto the window.  Dan also installed new white trim and jams.  It was excellent quality trim (extra thick) and was painted professionally by another Amish craftsman.  Dan is an excellent craftsman and really cared about his work.  It immediately changed our house dramatically and was beautiful.  The windows took about 3 days to install.  Dan?s team also cut down 10 arborvitae trees that needed to be removed for the siding to be installed and also removed part of our deck that was in bad shape.

After the windows were installed, the siding was ready to be installed.  Arturo and his siding team did an excellent job installing the siding, fascia, and soffits.  They were also very professional and did our entire house and detached three car garage in less than 3 days.  David was the gutter installer and he also did an excellent job fabricating the gutters on site and installing them along with gutter guards.  He also did some great drywall work in our house where we removed a door and window.

After the siding was installed, Dan and his team installed the two sliding glass doors and front door.  The doors took a bit longer to make but it was not a problem because it was a full day job to install the sliding glass doors and front door.  The doors were extremely heavy but Dan and his team did a great job moving and installing them.  The doors are very high quality and operate very well.  The front door and storm door are also extremely nice.

There were a few unexpected issues that came up during our project but Chris handled these things very well.  He acts very quickly and it seems he truly cares for the customer and his work and reputation.  Overall, I would highly recommend Jordan Exteriors.  We have worked with several contractors remodeling our home and Chris is by far the best we have worked with.  Our home now looks beautiful and we will not have to worry about the exterior for many years to come.

Replacement went well. The door was installed in 2011, and over the last winter, one of the trim pieces surrounding the door warped, and separated from the rest of the frame. It was replaced at n/c under warranty.

This is the second project we've worked with Kirt and Shawn on. They are extremely easy to work with and their pride of workmanship and attention to detail shows in their work. The farmhouse, being 100 years old, has lots of uneven walls and floors and Kirt knew just how to fix things. There were several curve balls but he handled every one and the house now looks amazing. We are not planning on buying any more properties in the near future, but if we did we'd call Kirt first.

The whole process was very smooth.  John came over along with his carpenter to measure twice, then he returned a third time just to be sure (our house is 100+ years old and there isn't a single square corner in the place).  He kept us posted on the order status for the materials, and once they arrived worked with our schedule to set up the install.  The majority of the work was completed in one day, finishing touches the 2nd.  When we discovered an unforseen problem with the storm door and security door bumping he went out of his way to make it right.
I would HIGHLY recommend this company.

AWESOME!!!  John & his carpenters worked around our schedule, was prompt, clean.  We're very pleased with the job!!  The cost was THOUSANDS of dollars less than quotes from others:  G@^$er quoted us $13K for the same job, John completed it for $4K.  In addition, we received very personal service--couldn't be happier with the experience!
