All care was above expectation - esp. from Dr. Ballantyne and his whole team. Only comment is that the MRI could have been explained to him a bit better so he knew to consciously try to relax.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
My father was an inpatient for 5 days in the Cardiology department and has since had follow up visits. He had several tests done - an MRI, a CAT scan, an ultrasound and an x-ray.

Excellent.  I never felt any pain during the procedure and recovery pain a very minimal.  It is now a few years later and it's as if nothing was ever damaged in my ankle.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
I ran into a tree while on my bike and tore up my right ankle.  I had a cross fracture that severed my Delta ligament.

UW Orthopedics provides a great deal of support and help pre-surgery.  I received a folder of information that followed me and was added to before, during and after my hospital stay.  I attended a class, "Knees 101", which gave more detailed information about surgery, the hospital stay and what to expect from rehabilitation.  It was conducted by an orthopedic nurse and a physical therapist. The h...

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
I went to UW Orthopedics on the advice of my primary for a painful right knee.  I got an X-ray and spent most of my appointment time with the surgeon's physician assistant.  He was friendly and knowledgeable and easy to talk with.  The surgeon appeared later and spent a few minutes reviewing my case with the PA and with me.  He recommended a total knee replacement.  I found the surgeon to be friendly, but a bit hurried.  I see this in most doctors today, so I was not overly concerned as most work under very busy schedules and long days.

I felt confidence in the surgeon -- that he was giving me the success rate for his surgeries as opposed to the general success rate, which is much lower. Therefore, I would go to him if I decide to have surgery in the future. He likes to perform the most conservative surgery for stenosis -- no fusions or insertion of artificial materials for bracing, etc. However, like all surgeons, he said the pa...

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Back pain is making standing and walking difficult. MRI shows severe spinal stenosis in lumbar area. I had met on my initial visit with a rehab orthopedist not a surgeon -- their decision not mine. So I needed to meet with a surgeon to get a fuller picture of my options.

I've used them for years.  He was the one who could communicate with his patient.  He listens. I like them all so I keep on going back.  They were very knowledgeable and they listen to you.
