It happened long distance, as I am presently living out of state for a job. Kristine and I did business by phone, and my daughter reported that the tree was gone. The stump removal will come later, at which time they will check on removal of a stump in the backyard as well.

    Dave's Tree Service
Dave was prompt and courteous.  Returned phone calls and messages.  Professional.  Clearly communicated price and what was to be done.  The 2 men that came to do the work arrived on time.  They were nice, professional and neat.  They did a great job and cleaned the yard up very well.  They were friendly too!    Asked me before they left if the job was done to my satisfaction.  It was.
Would highly recommend Dave's service.  He gave me a much different and better experience than I've had with other Tree
    services in the area.

    Tree Service By Dave
Dave waited until the ground was frozen hard to bring in his boom truck to efficiently remove branches overhanging the houses and power line. He started about 8:20 and finished in just 4 hours. He cleaned up well with a wood chipper and hauled off the heavy trunk sections, using a hydraulic lifter to load his trailer - professional heavy equipment. He will return in the spring to grind out the stump and remove the waste, when the ground is softer.
Dave was recommended by an arborist in his neighborhood, His bid was in the middle of 3 (I don't want the cheapest work in a tricky job which could damage my house), he returned my calls and worked well.

I don't know how his work quality is because he never showed up for the scheduled work or called me to reschedule. I called him several times to see what happened but, no one ever returned my calls.

We needed a large replacement tree in our front yard. We had to remove two old ones because it has become a problem. Our front yard is on the west side of our house and the big old trees use to shade our house in the afternoon but it’s no longer a shade. I called them up and they have a fairly number of trees. I agree to meet with the manager at their nursery. I already looked at the tree nursery and picked out a couple of trees. I picked a nice big maple tree. He wrote our name, put down the tree and said they’ll probably wait until September or October to put in a better healthy tree. I did not pay any money down. He reserved the tree. He said, we ‘d pay after his delivery. Time went on. It was getting towards fall. The maple tree would turn red in the fall. I had a free time one day and I drove up one day. I went to the nursery and there’s nobody around. The trees were gone. It’s hard to get them on the phone so I emailed. He called me up and said he sold the trees to somebody else. I was pretty upset about it. He said he took the tree put a ribbon with my name on it. He moved the tree on the other side of the barn. So, I drove back up there and I said he is not going to bring a tree for me without me seeing it first. I found a tree that he had marked. The thing about it is if I haven’t driven up there, they would have delivered a sub standard tree, planted it in my front yard and hoping that I wouldn’t know about it. They wouldn’t realize what have been done. I cancelled the whole deal because the way things are done. He didn’t apologize and we never heard anything from them.

He explained all his services and told us that our tree was not diseased, and did not need to be removed at this time.  He also gave us information on many of the other trees on our property.  We were pleased with the way he took time to explain everything and not just try to sell his services.  Will call him again if the need arises in the future.

We met with the owner of the Today's Tree SVC at the job site and he gave us a verbal quote of $3,000.00 to clear the site of trees and brush. Midway through the job, I asked for more trees to be removed. The owner gave us a verbal quote of $700.00 more, for a total of $3,700.00 for the job. The tree service had equipment problems and my excavating contractor had to help them move some of the larger trees using his large excavator. This assistance was at my expense. The job was eventually completed and they did a good job of removing the trees and brush. But when I got the invoice from our contractor, Today's Tree SVC portion of the invoice was $1,645.00 more than their verbal quote. I complained to our contractor and they told me that they would "look into it". I foolishly paid the complete invoice, thinking that our contractor would make good on the $1,645.00 over charge by Today's Tree SVC. That was a mistake. We never saw a refund, a credit or an adjustment and we were out the money. We contacted our attorney and he said that it would cost us more to fight the case than we would collect because "verbal contracts" may or may not be enforcable. The lesson is to not accept verbal quotes from Today's Tree SVC and if the quote is written, make sure there is a phrase in the quote saying "not to exceed" a certain dollar amount. To conclude the story, during this process, I also asked the owner of Today's Tree SVC to remove a dying willow tree at an adjoining location. There was no extra travel time involved. He verbally quoted me $200.00 for the job but invoiced me for $250.00.

    Les's Tree Service
They initially asked if I wanted them to remove the debris and I said I could do that(to save some money as my previous estimates from other companies were so high).   It took 2 days to have the stumps ground down.  I removed most the debris the first day and the tree care people removed the rest the next day.  They did not charge me any extra for the removal.  They quoted me a price of $150 initially just for the main tree stump removal.  Then, after I added the extra jobs of 2 more stumps and 3 bushes, they only charge $75 more so the total was $225.  Previous quotes from another company was $800 just for the tree stump.  He was very polite, thorough and offered to come back free of charge if there were any concerns with extended roots.  The tree roots were trailing under a deck that needs to be removed yet.  I was extremely happy with the price, the quality of work and the follow up.  I would highly recommend this service to anyone needing tree or brush service.

    Les's Tree Service
This was a highly technical piece of work that went almost flawlessly. The tree threatened my property and Les's crew attacked it with a great deal of technical expertise and hard work. The downed tree and the trimmed branches from another tree were chipped. This produced an enormous amount of chips, a dump truck load, to give you an idea of the amount of foliage that was downed. The majority of the work was performed in one day. My only complaint was that it took Les a few weeks to come back and grind the stump. But when he came back, he did a very good job. Despite poor responsiveness, I would use Les again because the quality of his work was so high and the price he charged was so low, much lower than his competitors. If you want a great value for your money, and you are not in a great deal of a hurry to get the work done and it's in your nature to be patient, Les is your man!

They were a bit slow to come out and quote me on the cost of trimming a dying tree and they do not promise a service date. However, they have an arborist on staff and they are extremely knowledgeable. While they were here quoting the cost to slow the death of one tree and trimming another away from the utility lines, they suggested trimming the other mature tree on the property. I also had a 4th tree that I wanted removed.
For all of this they quoted $350.00, which seemed reasonable given that I can't do the job myself.
On the day they arrived, I decided to keep the 4th tree, but instead have them remove a full grown arborvitae instead that was awkwardly placed in my garden. This was done with no damage to the surrounding plants, amazingly!
Today, I received the invoice and it was nearly $100 UNDER the quoted price.
I cannot recommend their services enough and will definitely use them again.
