AThe Handy VeteranWe purchased our home with a master bedroom that was down to the studs. The room had never been worked on since the previous owners tore it apart two decades ago. We had hired a contractor based on a recommendation by a realtor, and quickly realized that the work was never going to be completed. It was excuse after excuse! One of our new neighbors had just had some work done and told another neighbor about it. The contractor was the Handy Vet from Fox Lake. We gave them a telephone call and Kevin came out immediately to give us an estimate. We hired him on the spot! The guys dry-walled the entire room, finished the ceiling, installed our laminate floors (they had to level the floor before they could install the flooring), tore up glued down and nailed down parquet flooring and leveled that flooring prior to installing the flooring, finished three closets ... AND put a wood ceiling in for us! We are planning on having The Handy Vet come back again to do some more work. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone! Plus ... We decided to get a new puppy in the middle of the construction, and the guys fell in love with her, too! They were extremely patient with our "training" of little Sammie! AThe Handy VeteranBest experience we've ever had!!! I'm not one to usually leave reviews,.. but Kevin and his team far exceeded our expectations on every project we threw at him. From finishing a room in the basement, redoing a bathroom, building a fence, and changing out an exsisting railing in the house, to a rustic piece of art. He was eager to tackle it all, and even helped us seek out old barn wood for project ideas we showed him off Pinterest. It's not just his work, and quality, ..which is amazing! .. I'm here to leave a review, because of his patience, care, communication, attention to detail, work ethic, cleanliness, and our overall experience with him and his team. We absolutely will wait and use them in the future.. and trust him with whatever idea we throw at him. We can't thank him enough for making our house,.. our perfect home.- Jodi N.

ABadgerland Restoration & RemodelingExceptional service, and positive experience! My insurance adjustment from winter ice and water damage was very low. Badgerland offered an extensive diagnosis; and after a long wait, the insurance company agreed to a 2nd 'walk-through' and assessment. They tripled the repair estimate. Without Badgerland's help, I would not have had the repairs and finishing I received. That, alone, was worth 'the price of admission.' Badgerland's more-than-efficient professionals showed true dedication and pride in their work. They were meticulous in repairing, rebuilding, and finishing my many projects. They were always upbeat and committed, whether a half-day, or (several times!) past an 8-hour day of work. My old, large house offered challenges that they eagerly addressed and conquered. From them, I learned much about both my house, and what it takes to do a job exceedingly well. Travis, Andrea and Jason were terrific! They gave me their best attention. The hired sub-contractors were---simply-- top-notch, as well. In short, I was in good hands with a company I trusted and would recommend without hesitation. I not only have 3 rooms/ 4 spaces with amazing facelifts and new life-- I have sturdy, safe repairs that were done right. ...And I will always know how 12 new friends like their coffee! --Jane- jane s.

AHandy Men & Mrs Helper Kitchen & BathMy fifty year old townhouse needed renovations in order to put it on the market. I did as much work as I could myself but then called in Handymen & Mrs. Helper to install Pergo laminate flooring and paint the entire unit. Painter Rein did a meticulous job in repairing water damage and painting all ceilings, walls, and doors and trim over a two-week period. Following completion of the painting, Tim and Steve installed laminate flooring in every room except for one carpeted bedroom within three days. I had already moved my belongings to my retirement home in Wisconsin, so the townhouse was almost empty. I vacated during the work and returned three weeks later to find a virtually new place. It was immaculate and looked better than the day I bought the place in 1982! I'm delighted with the work, although it was more expensive than I had anticipated. Their price did not include flooring materials, which I ordered myself. Owners Faith and Rod Southard worked to make it affordable for me and trimmed the estimate, softening the blow somewhat. I would definitely use them again or recommend them.- Ingrid H.

AAccurate Contracting ServiceHave been using Accurate Contracting for two years now, for various improvements to the home and wouldn't use anyone else! The windows and patio doors were ordered and installed with great attention to detail and made a huge difference in the comfort of our home. Roofing, siding and gutters look great too. Our interior remodel included new flooring and tile, granite counter top install, painting and bathroom remodel all completed with great attention to every detail. AHomeworks Home MaintenanceEverything went very well! We live in a house that was built in 1886 with a very tiny bathroom added on in 1931. Bud handled the entire project to include demolition, carpentry, electric, plumbing, sink/toilet/tub installation, and painting. Details: Bud knocked out a wall separating existing bathroom and a small bedroom closet behind it, thus expanding the bathroom to a size that would allow the addition of a bathtub and surround (previously only a small shower would fit). He stripped the entire room down to the studs to include the walls, ceiling, and floor. After doing electric and new plumbing, the walls, floor, and ceiling were added, followed by fixtures, new toilet, vanity, medicine cabinet, and tub/shower. Bud finished the project with a beautiful paint job, trim, and a new, larger entry door. Old houses can be a challenge and we did uncovered a few issues after demolition. Bud was resourceful, creative, and skilled at finding a solution to overcome each one. If you need someone who can do it all and who stands behind his work, Bud is your man!- Regina N.

CWe hired Michael to do some work in our basement. While the work got done, overall the work was subpar and rushed. Additionally, the crew never showed up on time, and they left a big mess behind when they were done. I am still waiting for the closet they built to be finished to an acceptable standard but I have been trying to reach them for several weeks without success. He promised an 8 month warranty but at this point I will hire someone else to fix it.

AWe would highly recommend Carpets Plus Outlet. This is the secxond time we have purchased flooring from them. The sales staff helped us choose the appropriate flooring for our needs. The installer (Izzy) did a great job! The rooms both have irregular shapes and he was careful about how he oriented the flooring. He explained the process as he went along and answered all of our questions/concerns. He arrived on time and cleaned everything up after he finished. We are very happy with the result!

From our initial inquiry with them through to completion of our project, they were professional, very responsive and masters at their work.
