Justin said door was in great shape and he didn't need to do much for this Angie's list special, so he said he would give me a credit on my next service call when needed. I'll certainly call him when that time comes.

    Geis Building Products
I have a history calling Geis for garage door repairs and replacement. However this time the experience was so horrible I am making sure everyone I can contact knows how bad their scheduler, Bob, ruined their reputation!  Called them to totally replace a Wayne Dalton garage door opener which they had done for our 2 car garage previously, so I knew the routine and that it was a labor intensive process.  The tech that came out to look over the situation and what would be required was so polite, helpful and left me actually looking forward to getting the door replaced!  The estimate he gave was around $450, but it could be different.  The estimate was close to what we paid for the 2 car garage opener, which I thought surprising, but it had been approximately 5 years ago, so inflation, okay.   Called and talked to Bob the scheduler for Geis and he told me at least twice how expensive this was going to be and it was a long process, at least 4 hours work. The estimate he then gave me was $750!!! Again, I was shocked at the difference!  I told him that wasn't  happy to put that much money into it, but it needs to be replaced! In Wisconsin during a normal winter, if you can easily come in and out of your garage, you want to!  Bob said they would not be able to get to me for two days and stated Thursday 8-12 was available. I said that was fine and I thought the appointment was scheduled.
Waited for the 3 hours of the scheduled appointment and no one had arrived.  So I decided to call Geis back and verify they were going to make it to the house as scheduled.  Bob told me I had not called him back to book the appointment and again told me how expensive this work would be and they could not get to me until the next day.  Just for clarification, I never said anything about calling back during our conversation 2 days prior.  I had stated we were putting the house up for sale in the spring and so we needed to get the problem remedied.  Bob said he had his notes in front of him and he wrote down about the house being put on the market, but that I was going to call back??? Flabbergasted I told him I never said I would call back, and he gave me the time frame and had again reminded me how expensive this was going to be.  He then got quite aggressive towards me and pretty much called me a liar. I informed Bob that in all or the 5 houses we lived in and had made repairs during all our moves, this was the worst customer service I had ever experienced.  He not only did not in any way try to fix the situation, he again told me he never made the appointment and reminded me I was going to call back for the appointment. I told Bob he had sufficiently talked me out of ever using Geis and that I would make sure other consumers did not experience the same lack of customer appreciation, especially for "such an expensive" service.   He told me that was fine.  I called back after hanging up and asked for the owner's phone number.  I called and spoke with the owner and he was quite gracious. He offered a discount, but I told him the damage Bob created was too substantial for me to ever use or recommend Geis and that I already had booked Hartland Overhead Door for the job.
During the conversation with the owner I informed him that as my husband and I are both HR professionals with over 20 years experience each as well as both of us holding Master's degrees in Organizational Communication, this whole experience was unbelievably disappointing!  Explained to him we owned a small business previously ourselves and having people on your team that don't appreciate both cultivating and keeping customers is so detrimental to both the customers and the motivation of the entire team. I really cannot express to you how bad this situation was without writing pages.  Just don't use them! Save yourself the hassle!  Who needs any more hassles these days!!!

    Adams gararge doors llc
He showed up in the dead of winter and within 4 hours we had a new door up and ready to go. When I went back in the garage to check things out, you could not even tell that he had been out there working. Great experience!

Our garage door stopped working and appeared to come off the track. We
called Geis and they had a technician out the next day in the morning.
David arrived on time and called to say he was on the way. He
determined that the linear gear inside the unit had broken and luckily
had the part in his truck avoiding a return trip. He quickly repaired
our garage door and lubricated door so it would work more smoothly.
    Very satisfied with service.

    HARTLAND OVERHEAD DOOR INC
I called at approximately 7:15 am and left a testy, urgent message. He returned my call immediately and said he could come right over. He arrived by about 7:30 am.  I was pleasantly surprised by his prompt, courteous, and professional response to my predicament. He replaced the broken parts, clearly explained what he had done, and I was on my way by 8 am.

It was very smooth. The rep came out when he said he would be there, was very helpful when discussing colors of the door etc. Very knowledgable about doors, openers, etc. Ordered door, it was installed two weeks later.

    Cedarburg Overhead Door Company
Our garage door opener broke--gears stripped--so that it wouldn't open. We called our home warranty company and they referred us to Cedarburg Overhead. The home warranty would usually cover the problem with a cheap temporary fix but Jerry worked with them to have them give the money as a discount to a brand new garage door opener (regular price would be $352 but home warranty chipped in $125). They came out on a very cold day but did a great job installing a nice new garage door opener which is very smooth. They also offered maintenance advice for the new opener. We're very happy!

Our garage door opener would hum but the garage door wouldn't shut. We recently got the house and it's still under warranty so we called the home warranty company and they put us in touch with Cedarburg Overhead. We talked to Jerry about what was going on and he said "Let me tell you what you've got to do if you want to save the money." I took his advice and it fixed it!

    Blando Door Co LLC
I called and got quotes from a few of the companies on Angie's List and Blando was about even with the rest, but they threw in a tune-up for the price. To replace both springs (recommended) and the tune-up they estimated $225. They scheduled a time to come out same-day even though it was the Friday after Thanksgiving, which was nice. They later called and asked if they could come about an hour earlier, which was fine. The man that did the work was friendly and took maybe 40 minutes. He also pointed out a possible trouble point in the garage's structure. In the end they gave us a $15 Angie's List discount.

The installed did a very good job. I didn't realize the garage needed to be cleared out for this. Since we were remodeling it was quite full. The installer moved all of these things out of the way. He also remounted my garage door openers properly (from my installation). I was extremely happy overall.
