Concrete Repair reviews in Greendale

    Morici Bros Concrete
The owner Steve was great throughout the process.  Met him at a Home Show in Spring 2015 and was one of the first contractors to provide a quote.  After meeting with a few other contractors over the summer, Steve was one of the best on price and moved forward with the job in Fall 2015 that met my family's timeline.  Overall the job went smoothly with minor hiccups.  I was promised 2 days pending weather and the job was completed in 2 days.  Steve wanted to make sure my wife and I liked the shape of the patio before pouring and we did make some last minute changes.  With no questions asked, Steve made the changes and had his crew touch up on other areas before pouring like re-cutting a straighter line between the existing driveway and the new patio.  The only negative is that my wife and I wanted a picture frame border with a broom finish on the patio.  This was reiterated as they started pouring to ensure Steve and his crew knew exactly what we wanted and previously discussed.  Unfortunately for us, we didn't get the picture frame finish as requested and discussed on multiple of times as Steve's crew completed the entire project with a broom finish.  We are lucky that this finish matches what we already have for a driveway, but disappointing to not have what we wanted and thought we were getting.  It's not the end of the world for us, but when you aren't going with a color or stamped concrete, we thought this finish would help with the aesthetics of the patio.

We couldn't believe it. The entire drive and garage floor was removed and re-poured with concrete in one day. The replacement is beautiful and we are extremely satisfied. Everything was absolutely clean when the work was finished.

    Tony's Concrete Services LLC
He started off very professional and promised all these things. It has been over a year and the project isn't finished. Tony, told me its going to get done but he is busy at this time. I feel I am not a priority to him. This should have been done a while ago.

    NYLEN CONSTRUCTION LLC
Dan Nylen couldn't be nicer or more accomodating. Came out on a brutally hot day on the July 4th holiday to give us our estimate. Very patient with our questions and discussing "potential plans" for the future. Very good communication throughout the process, completed on time, on budget, thorough clean-up, great job overall. I plan on using them for an even bigger project next year.

I called Gary and left a message on a Friday.  He called back that same day.  The next morning he looked at the situation and gave me an estimate.  The following Monday, he and his assistant completed the job and cleaned up after themselves.  I was very pleased, plus Gary is very nice and friendly.     I would hire  him again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

    Garrett Concrete & Retaining Walls
Garrett gave us a fair price. They arrived to perform the job when they said they would. They completed all but the seat wall in 2 full days. The seat wall just appeared one day while we were at work, so we don't know how long it took. All of it looks terrific. It is pitched away from the house properly. All of it is sealed. We are very pleased.

    D&B Restoration Services LLC
D&H did not pull building permit as verbally promised. Balked, but finally provided proof of insurance before work started. Total cost listed above includes well over $1,000.00 in unexpected charges. Removed patio and sidewalk, and excavated OK. But only removed/replaced 6 out of the 10 feet of bowed block wall. New wall was still 1.5" out of plumb, and was not high enough to support exterior wall. Per Building Inspector, D&H was forced to install galvanized steel brace to make up the difference. This cost me another $500.00 for inspection/engineering fee, and another $930.00 in labor and materials. D&H didn't lay down plywood to protect my driveway from their heavy tractors. They ruined a portion of my blacktop drive - a parking 'L' large enough for a single car. Since the concrete stoop didn't need to be removed as part of the wall straightening project (as originally quoted) they offered instead to replace the damaged parking L. But they poured it a full 2 feet shorter that the original! This, despite having taken their own pictures of the original patio and drive when they quoted the job. Then they had the nerve to imply that I was trying to get a larger parking space installed for free! What's worse, they didn't use 2" wash stone to back fill the excavated area along the crawl space wall. Instead, they pushed the excavated clay back into the hole, leveled it, and poured the new patio in a span of only four hours without letting it settle. Over the winter, the clay settled away from the new patio, leaving an area approx. 3' x 15' partially un-supported, the ground had sunk 8 to 12 inches several places! To their credit, D&H contracted CRC to mudjack the settled area at no additional cost to me. D&H never came back to level the surrounding ground. Instead, they delivered 'blended' top soil (read: chock full of exotic weeds). I decided to level it myself, as I was so disgusted with their effort that I didn't want them back on my property. They had the nerve to say they couldn't deliver the top soil and/or arrange for the mudjacking in the spring, because they "had to get some cash flow going". This, coming straight from the owner, Mike Dimmer, who came to my house several times in his brand new turbo-diesel 3.5 ton club cab pickup truck! CRC threatened to place lien on our house when D&H failed to pay them promptly after mudjacking. D&H accused me of having extra work done by CRC at D&H's expense! Job was started in Oct-2007 and not completed until July-2008. Half the summer was over by the time we got to use our new patio. Bottom line - job done, but NOT done right...

    J LALICATA CEMENT CONTRACTORS INC
At first everything was good, he came out on time and did the job. It looked as if everything was great, however 14 months went by and the cement was popped and started cracking in various places. Also the pitch was incorrect going towards the garage. All of these issues he admitted to, he did come out to take a look at the problems. He said he would take care of it by July of this year but has not, and he is non-communicative since that point.

Crew arrived on time and were very efficient. Had entire wall dug out in one day and prepared the wall for corrections. Moved appliances and were inside and outside, had trucks moving dirt and really seemed to be experienced. Our area inspector is quite strict so we had to install a sump pump and crock but this possiblity had been discussed beforehand so we were fully prepared for it. Every crack and block was repaired and the grading and soil replacement looked better than before we started. The inside was swept and appliances returned to their original place.

    Bruce Dahlgren Construction LLC
VERY POSITIVE. BRUCE IS VERY DEFINITELY A CONCRETE PROFESSIONAL, HE SEEMED TO KNOW EVERYTHING NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB RIGHT. HE IS LIKEABLE & EASY TO TALK TO; HE CONSISTENTLY RETURNS PHONECALLS WITHIN A DAY. THE PROJECT HAD A SURPRISE PROBLEM IN THAT THE OLD DRIVEWAY HAD NO GRADE. BRUCE DIDN'T KNOW THAT UNTIL THE MORNING HE CAME TO RIP IT OUT AND, AFTER TAKING MEASUREMENTS, FOUND OUT THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO TAKE OUT MORE OF THE OLD DRIVEWAY THAN ORIGINALLY PLANNED TO PUT THE PROPER GRADE ON THE NEW ONE. HE STOPPED THE JOB RIGHT THERE UNTIL WE TALKED FACE TO FACE ABOUT IT A DAY LATER, TOLD ME HIS PLAN FOR GRADING THE NEW ONE, AND I APPROVED THE PLAN AND PRICE. THE NEW DRIVEWAY LOOKS VERY NICE (POSITIVE COMMENTS FROM THE NEIGHBORS TOO) WITH A GOOD GRADE THAT WAS EXACTLY AS HE DESCRIBED AND NICE LOOKING CORNERS. HE WAS BACK LOGGED 35 JOBS WHEN I HIRED HIM IN EARLY JULY, HE POURED THE NEW ONE IN MID-SEPT. SO, YOU MIGHT HAVE TO WAIT A LITTLE. BUT IT'S WORTH IT. HE USED MEYER CONCRETE.
