    LCS Lawn Service
It was difficult to get very many estimates due to many tree damage claims. My job was also a difficult job that needed a cherry-picker to complete the job. LCS sent Andy Mancini to review the job, and we hired LCS. They were average in cost but were outstanding in communication and follow-up. Much better than some other highly rated services, who, in some cases never returned my calls for estimates. LCS was great to work with, with a hard-working crew and outstanding service....will hire again!

The owner, Dave, arrived and immediately assumed a surly attitude. When I attempted to point out the specific trees to remove, he quickly stopped me, and verbally quoted me $8,500. He launched into a diatribe about other tree services and how he wouldn't be the least expensive since he had expensive equipment and needed to pay for it. As I mentioned that I already had a couple quotes, he pressed me for the names of the other services. I didn't share the other vendors or their quotes. I ended up with 3 other quotes that all fell between $1,200 and $3,000. Ultimately, I chose a vendor who did a terrific job for $1,200. A few days ago, I was in the process of getting quotes for the second phase (12 additional ash trees + stump removal), and I contacted Affordable again to quote (frankly I forgot about my earlier experience with Dave). Dave came out to my home. It quickly became apparent that Dave had no intention of quoting. As I started to point out the trees, he cut me off to say that he wasn't going to waste my time or his as he would not be quoting me. He then proceeded to lambast me. He indicated that I was clearly not a loyal customer as I did not give this additional work to my original vendor. Further, the original vendor had done a very poor job as they had not cut off the stumps close to the ground and other complaints. He ranted for another few minutes before I politely thanked him for his time and showed him off my property.

    Eduardo's Tree Svc
The service bought was for 4 hours of work for a fixed price. Not knowing how long it takes to do work, I showed Eduardo and his team the (4) dead trees I needed removed, at minimum. If there was time left, there was more work that could be done. Eduardo said that he could do the (4) trees and I agreed that this was the scope of work. As it turned out, they had extra time left in the 4 hours (and even spent some time un-jamming the chipper), but because we had verbally agreed to the scope ( would I know how long it takes to remove the trees?), they started cleaning up for job completion. I wish that they had offered to do more work to finish the 4 hours. They did very good work...I just wish they had been more compliant and accommodating to the 4 hour deal.

    Oberndorfer Landscape Development, Inc
I'm writing a follow up review for one I posted a couple of years ago.  Initially we were satisfied with the services provided.  Where the down spouts were buried are now causing us further yard flooding issues.  After doing more research and looking at other yards, I now see the down spouts are all brought to the edge of the yard instead of the middle, as is what was done with ours.  The larger issue here is after 3 years, 4 of our 10 evergreen trees have died.  These trees were 4ft tall and not cheep. Oberndorfer warranties the plants up to 1 year, which I'm learning is standard.  The issue with the trees happened when we dug them up and all of them still had the burlap on them & this hadn't decomposed.  The other issue is one of the trees still had the wire basket still on it.  I was willing to count the other ones as a loss, but the tree with the wire around was very concerning.  We contacted Oberndorfer and didn't hear anything back.
The other issue I've had is we have had them spray our yard (not after the dead trees) and asked they call ahead and we would put our dogs in the house - otherwise they have a doggie door and an invisible fence.  On several occasions we found our dogs barking after the man spraying the yard.  He didn't appear to have any concern for the dogs and continued while the dogs were barking and running behind him.  Of course we called every time and asked they call ahead of time and expressed our concern but nothing was done about it.
Overall the services were marginal and very expensive.

    Lone Wolf Tree Service LLC
It went well. I still had to deal with the dirt left behind. And I found that a small portion of the stump escaped the grinder, but that is understandable given the large mound of dirt and chips the grinder piles up.
Moving the pile of dirt mixed with chips would have been easier if I could have removed the topsoil and mulch beforehand . . . but Lone Wolf came several days EARLIER(!) than I expected.

    Gollnick & Sons Tree Service
They were on time and very professional and quick. Three person crew with one climbing up trees to trim them while the other two were cutting the large pieces and romoving to the chipper. the year was very clean after they were complete with the job. Will hire them again when the trees need triming in the future.

    Gollnick & Sons Tree Service
Gollnick and Sons Tree Service removed a 30 foot pine tree and performed some additional trimming on a large silver maple. They provided a prompt quote after contacted via their website. They were professional, performed the work on time, did exactly what they said they were going to do and charged exactly what they said they were going to charge. After removal of the pine tree and tree trimming, they was not a stick or a leaf left in the yard. The silver maple tree trimming looks natural. A few days later, as promised, the pine tree stump was removed and the area smoothed and ready for planting. There is no sign that the pine tree ever existed. We were so impressed that we just signed a contract with them for snow plowing this winter.

    Hoppe Tree Service
I emailed them and got a response quite promptly.  Within a week they had come and left me an estimate for the work.  These two trees had needed trimming for YEARS, and they are very large, so the job required people with special equipment.  Once I agreed on the estimated price, they were able to schedule me within 2 weeks.  They came while I was at work and trimmed my trees and cleaned everything up beautifully.  They did a very nice job on the trees, and they cleaned up so completely that one could hardly tell that they had been there.....except  that the trees looked great!  They weren't the cheapest, but they weren't the most expensive either, and they did a really nice job.  I would call them again.

    Hoppe Tree Service
They did a great job and amazed me how easily they took  the trees down. They cleaned everything up, were very friendly and communicated everything very well. My only complaint is because the day was much warmer than expected the skid loader they used to move the larger piecesdid make some ruts in the yard. In their defense no one including myself expected the ground to thaw as much and as quickly as it did. Overall we are very happy with their work and would highly recommend them.

    Hoppe Tree Service
Received the estimate and agreed to the work in August. We were advised work wouldn't begin until the ground had hardened up, which was quite understandable. Advised us of the scheduled date in October, arrived promptly and completed the entire job with clean up, even stacked the firewood where we asked.
